Overall I was very impressed with the property and communications with the property manager. There was plenty of space and the home looked recently updated. Location is great, it was a quick minute drive down to the lake and Shasta Caverns. We did arrive after dark and there are no street lights in the surrounding area which did make it a nerve wracking drive. I recommend driving during daylight hours for check-in.
Our visit was to see family in the area. The house was very nice and comfortable. It was stocked with everything we needed. I would definitely rent again.
House was absolutely perfect!! Clean, quiet and secluded and only a 5 min drive to the lake. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the deer roam the property. It was so peaceful and exceeded our expectations. Can’t wait to stay there again.
Our family of 5 had a great stay at this house. It is conveniently located (a short drive to hikes and Shasta Caverns). The house is maintained in perfect condition: everything was clean and working. The beds had comfortable memory foam mattresses, and the kitchen was well stocked.
The check-in process was easy and the host remained in contact in case we needed help with anything (we didn't).
Highly recommend this house for your next Shasta vacation.
The property had the perfect combination of seclusion and convenience. Not very far off of I5 yet felt as if we were deep in the woods. The home was very nicely equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Homeowners were very responsive and sincerely wanted us to enjoy our stay. Highly recommended and would definitely stay here again!
Communication was easy and Trevor was prompt in responding back. The house is absolutely beautiful with all the amenities. Super comfortable with top of the line appliances with more amenities then one could ask for. Cleanliness was remarkable and property well take. Care of . I would highly recommend this property. Can’t wait to stay again. Thank you so much

Great House - Not Close To Lake!
The house itself was great. But, it is NOT a lake house! Very deceiving listing!
Luckily this was not a huge issue since it ended up not being as warm as we wanted it to be, but we would have been really disappointed if it had been lake weather.
The closest lake access is definitely not a 2 minute drive (as is listed in the details). Bailey Cove Campground is maybe a 5 minute drive, but it’s definitely not a swimming or recreation type access. The listing also mentions that it is a 1 minute walk to the Whiskeytown Shasta Recreation Area. This is deceiving as well in that it makes it seem like the house is close to a “recreation area”, but it turns out that the “recreation area” is a 200k acre national forrest that the property is situated amongst. The house is up a steep hill maybe 500 feet above lake level, so despite looking relatively close on the map AGAIN NOT CLOSE TO LAKE!
The house was very clean, but almost too clean if you have little ones with you. It’s clearly solely a vacation rental so we spent a lot of time making sure that our 2 year old didn’t lay a single Cheeto hand on anything. They did have a pack and play and some kids books, but definitely beware if you have small children.
When we booked the rental we were also required to purchase an insurance policy or put down a ridiculously large deposit for damage w/ some very concerning verbiage re what the host could deem damage and therefore keep our deposit for. That was a little off putting as well.
Property was great. Did a job near by and it was very convenient to have the house so close. I stay in many hotels for work and it was awesome coming home to a house every night. Property was very clean and updated. Host was more than happy to answer any questions and help out if needed. Will definitely stay here next time.
