Rustic Goan Villa Amidst Birds & Greenery

Artisanale Colvale in a quaint Goan village away from tourist activity. It overlooks paddy fields and has a large enclosed compound with lawns and a parking area. The kitchen is well equipped and we have a housekeeper/ cook. We have 2 AC bedrooms with attached bathrooms, and separate maids/ drivers quarters. The dining is open air. We have very high internet connection.

Utility stores/ restaurants are about a 5 minute drive and about 25 minute drive to the beaches of Anjuna, Morjim and Ashvem.
The space
Artisanale Colvale is located in the enchanting village of Colvale - North Goa, off the beaten tourist track and is within 3 -4 kms of the main market and 15 to 20 Kms from the nearest beach belt of Calangute, Baga and Candolim. The public or private transport in this area is not to be relied on.. and a hired 2 wheeler or 4 wheeler would have to be with you all the time. A hired geared 2 wheeler would cost you around INR 350 per day [USD 6] and a self drive car about INR 1000/- [USD 15]. We do have a large parking on the premises.

Our home has 2 large bedrooms both of which are ACed and have attached bathrooms. The master bedroom, the Mirror Room as we fondly call it, and the “African" bedroom open into the al fresco dining area and the kitchen courtyard. The bedrooms are AC-ed to keep away the heat during the hotter months. We also have a little room with an attached bath at the back of the house, which can be used as a spare bedroom for an extra person. It has a ceiling fan and an attached bathroom. The house is excellently cross ventilated and especially since we face wide paddy fields, the air is pure and the feeling is calm. We have Mahendra, our house caretaker who looks after the lawns and general housekeeping of our home. He is an excellent cook and pleasures in tossing up local veggies, chapattis, fish curry and sweet meats :). You have to supply him with the ingredients or he will just source them for you at an extra charge.

The home is self-sufficient and equipped with all the basic kitchen and home appliances required for a long stay including a fridge, washing machine, kettle, 4 gas burner with 2 cylinders etc... When you stay over, you can stock up the kitchen from the supermarket about 2 kms down the road. If you'd you like us to stock up something in particular you can let us know and we could look at arranging for the same. There are limited but good local restaurants in the vicinity you can order food from.

We have a very good internet connectivity on the premises. It is an optic fibre line with a WiFi speed of upto 50 MBPS. It is a prepaid line and you pay as per your usage. A 20 GB line with a port speed of upto 50MBPS will cost you INR 1800.

We also have an inverter on the premises, and we thus promise you uninterrupted electricity supply 24x7.

1. Linen/ towels/ hand towels: Yes. Provided and included in the rental for short stays less than 1 month.
2. Internet: Yes, an unlimited download, wifi broadband upto 50 mbps line throughout the house. Provided and included in the rental for short stays below 1 month.
3. Basic Toiletries: Yes. Provided and included in the rental for short stays below 1 month.
4. Smoking: Allowed on the premises, however charges for any upholstery/ bedding that is burnt, will be debited from your security deposit
5. Garbage disposal: We have dry and wet waste bins.
6. Parking: Space available
7: Conveyance: We do have local cab contacts who will ferry you around or you can hire a self drive car/ scooter.
8. Appliances available: fridge, toaster, washing machine, gas stove, iron
9. Electricity bills to be paid as per usage for stays longer than 1 month.
10. Inverter: Yes, we have a 1KVA backup battery.
Other things to note
There is a highway that passes about 75 mts at the back of the house and a village road that passes the front. Some Westerners have found that they can hear the traffic at night. So if you want a VERY quite place, then this place would not be for you. After all you are in India, known for its vibrant surroundings ....
