Great retreat house

The house was perfect for our family. We had 3 couples and a single. The lower level was big enough with a large table to play games and cook meals together as well as watch TV. Off the family room was a small patio with TV so was great for evening talks. The upper deck in the main picture was perfect for dining if it's not too hot and for late night drinks.

Perfect spot for our eclipse trip

Check in was very easy. We got into the home with no trouble. The house is well off the main roads and is right by an inlet of the lake. The home was exceptionally clean and cared for. I was hoping to go kayaking and they have two kayaks and paddles. Unfortunately the dock was too high my comfort to try and get on the kayak without falling into the water so I opted to not go out. Other than than this home was exactly what our group needed. We had three adults and a three year old boy and we all had fun. The town is pretty quiet but that is what we wanted.

Lovely Home on Cedar Creek Reservoir!

My husband and I lived here while he attended the National RV Training Academy. We were in the home for 36 nights. We were very comfortable living here while he attended his classes. I enjoy cooking, and I was able to make anything we needed with the items available in the kitchen. I have a much smaller kitchen at home, so having so much room may have spoiled me just a bit. The master bedroom was absolutely huge, and had a beautiful view of the canal leading out to the lake. The master bathroom was over the top. So beautiful! We enjoyed the use of the large walk in closet as well. We did not use all the fun amenities as we were just too busy for them, but we did see them at the home and available. There were more towels, bedding, and kitchen towels than we needed. The owner Dane was warm, welcoming, and quick to resolve any issues during our stay. The washer, dryer, and dishwasher all worked very well. We will be returning to the area next year, and would certainly stay again if the home is available. If you are going for vacation, or family get together this place would be perfect.

GPaw GiGi Camp 2023

Emma’s place was a perfect choice for our 2 nights get away during our week of Annual grandkids Camp. It was easy access to Cedar Creek Boat rental and we all enjoyed sitting on the dock and feeding hotdog, buns and tortillas to the catfish, and, of course the turtle they named ate a small amount. I especially enjoyed my quiet 6:30 am with Jesus, my hot tea, and feeding the fish myself. This quiet cove fit its description. And Dane’s prompt replies to any of my questions, or concerns was of great help.

Wonderful

We had a wonderful time! Loved the double decker dock.The house had plenty of amenities cookware, towels etc.The home itself is very spacious with plenty of room for the grandkids to roam around. We will definitely be booking again!

Great listing

We had the best stay here. The beds were super cozy, AC works great, beautiful patio/dock area! The only downside was parking. There’s not much room for boats/trailers. We made it work and the host was super accommodating and helpful! Would stay here again!

My party of 10 fit well in the spaces provided and we had a blast with each other and the various activities offered at Emma’s Retreat. My only ask would be to offer paper towels, extra dish towels in the kitchen, and a couple of newer pans. Overall the place was clean, tidy and offered beyond what other places I’ve stayed did. It was a great choice and on the list to visit again. Thanks!

Perfect Getaway

Dane was the perfect host having answered all my questions prior to booking, being avaliable but in no way intrusive during our stay and making sure all of our needs were met. His house was immaculate as well as beautiful, his neighbors were friendly without invading our privacy. He gave great recommendations on places to eat. Everything thing we needed was no more than 10 min away with most being 5, yet the house itself was set in a very quiet and safe neighborhood, and co-host was equally warm and inviting. This is a perfect getaway for both couples and families and we hope to stay again.

A little perfect getaway

I can not say enough about this place and Dane the host. My fiancé and I wanted a few days to relax and we did exactly that. The house has all the amenities that you can think of plus more. We enjoyed watching TV outside on the patio at night and fishing from the dock during the day, where we caught 2 catfish. Thank you for your hospitality Dane. Sincerely Greg and Salena

Perfect Place to Relax

We had a wonderful time! The home was perfectly equipped with everything we needed! Our family fit perfectly and the location was amazing! Enjoyed fishing in the lake. Plenty of places for dining. We will be back!

Family getaway

So glad we found this house, it was everything we were looking for in a quick getaway! We were visiting my brother who lives in Irving & didn’t want to stay in a hotel. It’s a quick hour from Irving. We were all able to sleep comfortably & had plenty of room to rest & relax. The kids loved the arcade game & we enjoyed the beautiful views at sunset, would definitely stay again.

End of summer family vacation!

We had a great time at Emma’s Retreat! Dane’s communication was super easy and quick! The house looks exactly like it does in the pictures and the neighborhood is very conveniently located. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms and terrace are excellent. The lake levels were extremely low so we weren't able to use the dock at the house and the closet accessible dock was a 15minute drive, the closer ones were at extreme low water levels. This made it less accessible for us, but overall we still enjoyed our time.

Last summer family getaway

Weekend Getaway

The location to the lake, stores and services is perfect. If you are looking for a home with modern amenities and open area to connect with all those staying at the property then this is for you. The property owner was attentive and communicated better than I could have ever expected, although there wasn't much need because house was great. Adequate parking in the front for 3-5 vehicles if needed. Great deck out back to sit out in the Texas heat and an outside sitting area with television was great for relaxation. When I go back to this lake, this will be the first property we check for availability.

Why they chose this property

This property was a labor of love! It is a spacious brick home with open floor plan and beautiful finishings. No detail was spared! It has everything your family would need. From plenty of dishes, pots and pans as well as fishing poles and record player. The 2-story dock with boat lift is a dream, and the back porch has a working fireplace. We hope to host you soon! We are close to everything including grocery stores, restaurants and boat ramp.

What makes this property unique

Enjoy a classic vinyl record on our Victrola while sipping on a cocktail overlooking the lake. The 2-story dock is great for sipping coffee in the morning or having a nice dinner on the 2 outdoor tables. Fish right off the dock and catch catfish or the many other species of fish in Cedar Creek Lake. You won't be disappointed!
