The place was nice, clean and spacious. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. A great place to stay while hanging out around the campfire, going on hikes or having a great dinner at Mather Lodge.
The cottage was old but nice.
A little uneasy sleeping at night because there was no deadbolt on the door.
The location was awesome!
We had a great time.
Stay was nice, we were in town for a wedding. The cottage worked great for us and our two dogs. I loved all the room that was available outside for them. No complaints about the cottage itself. Worked perfect for what we needed. We grilled and used the stove. Only thing I have to say was the spider webs that had spiders in them in the cottage. I brushed the webs down and killed the spiders myself but they were in the shower and the room. And there was a wasp in the bedroom. The cottage could use a little updating but we would definitely stay here again.
We always love our weekends away at Petit Jean. We like the cedar Creek lodge because it has a fire pit, wood, grills, picnic tables, yard games, and laid back atmosphere. The lodge is clean, and has everything we need for our stay. All the small business owners on the mountain are like family who help take care of each other. We love stopping at the coffee shop in the mornings, and at the outpost for ice cream after a long hike.
The location is conveniently close to the state park and it's a very short drive to access the trails and visitor's center. However, the cottage has a musty smell and the burners on the stove were warped to the point that we had trouble cooking our food. We also had some issues with the AC unit in the bedroom.
The property is nice. It was nice place to get away for 2 nights. This place is very pet friendly, that they offer to let our dogs be off the leash into a open field. We didn’t do this but it was a nice walk around the field, one morning we saw some dear. The only negative complaint I have is the Wi-Fi is spotty. To get a good connection you either have to go outside or sit at the end of the couch.
We stayed at the cottage which is a duplex that has been converted into a single unit. I would not plan on cooking there. The stove should be replaced because it doesn't have temperature dials for baking and the coils on the cooktop are so warped that a pan doesn't sit flat. There is no door between the bed/bath and the living/kitchen area, which added some difficulty getting the kids to sleep. The picnic table is in the worst condition I have seen and should be replaced. There is a door missing on the cabinets, so I had to keep my kids out of the pans. The bathroom was fine but did not have a tub. It was a standup shower, which isn't ideal for kids. All the lightbulbs could be upgraded to make the place brighter. It is very dark in there at all times. The couch had a stench and I didn't like sitting on it. There was no deadbolt either. In short, the unit is dated and needs upgrades but would be a inexpensive place to stay if you don't need to cook and don't have children.
We loved our stay at Cedar Falls Lodge. The cottage had everything we needed for our thanksgiving celebration with our adult kids and pups! The property is well maintained. They have propane grills and a great covered area with picnic tables. Along with a private charcoal grill next to our cottage. We sat by the fire pit every night! They provided the wood and kept it stocked.
There are plenty of outside sitting areas. The property has a huge field that was great for our dogs to run around and play in. We felt at home and extremely comfortable. The beds were so comfortable and all the rooms very cozy to get tucked in on a cold night.
The owners are friendly, helpful, and insured we had a good time.
We will be back!
