owners were accommodating and friendly. I would have enjoyed some views. Good for 2 people. Clean and comfortable. For future renters, owners live on the property.
This VRBO is outstanding. The place is well stocked with extra towels, snacks, kitchenware, and information on local attractions. You can also choose from a collection of 900 dvd movies. The hosts were great and very helpful. You will have to drive a bit to see the sights in Albuquerque or Santa Fe.
Michael and Bernie, have such a warm casita that made my stay there amazing. House was very clean, beautiful views and both are very attentive and accommodatingThank you, Theresa
I had to visit Rio Rancho for a funeral. Bernie and Mike were truly wonderful hosts. The property is beautiful and well kept. If we find ourselves back in New Mexico, we will definitely want to stay here.
Our stay at the Casita was absolutely perfect! The casita was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable vacation. The location is off the beaten path, but we were pleasantly surprised by the peaceful atmosphere and views of the Sandias. We saw a hot air balloon one morning and we remained warm and cozy while temps dropped and snow fell. This casita is attached to the owners home, but you’d never know that. I hardly saw them while we were there, but when we did, they were like your own family! The host was incredibly responsive and accommodating, making our check-in and communication seamless. They offer over 900 movies to choose from for your entertainment. Everything was so comfortable and exactly what we hoped for. We can't wait to return for another wonderful getaway!
Just an amazing spot with great views and night skies. Clean, fully appointed space with everything one could want, including a waffle iron, and two coffee makers. Mark and Bernie were kind and attentive. Bed was comfortable and had extra bedding and pillows in the closet. Definitely will stay there again!
We were in town to visit some family over Thanksgiving and had a great stay, not just because of time with family, but largely because of Mike & Bernie's beautiful, clean, and comfortable property. The bed was comfortable and has lots of storage. The walk-in closet provided even more storage. We loved the large jacuzzi tub with water that gets nice and hot. We were able to unwind after long days of family time with access to Netflix and a DVD player. The kitchen had everything we needed and the entire place was very well kept and clean. There was no outside noise since it's nestled in a sparsely inhabited mesa area. The only hiccup had to do with parking, but our gracious hosts quickly worked with us to accommodate. We highly recommended this stay and we have already decided that the next time we are in the Albuquerque area we would love to be able to stay here again! Thank you Bernie and Mike!- The Gomez's
We enjoyed the quiet of our stay. Very nice for 2 people. A private patio was the perfect spot to sit and relax. Still close to town but far enough out to be quiet. Amazing view of Rio Rancho lights at night as we drove back after sunset. Every thing needed was provided. Owners are great. A balloon landed right next to our casita one morning, then took back off!
The casita is a tidy independent unit within the main residence. Nice location on a high spot at the edge of Rio Rancho with open desert to the west and terrific views of the Sandias to the east. Despite the remote-feeling setting, it’s convenient to major arteries into Albuquerque or Santa Fe. Bernie and Mike are excellent, friendly hosts and good communicators. The casita had everything we needed to enjoy our 4-night stay, including a well-appointed kitchen. Would be glad to pay a return visit!
This was our second time at this property. It is located exactly where we need it. It is a very nice and cozy (great for two people, but not much more) with very attentive owners who live in an attached but completely separate house. The place feels like it is off the path a bit as it is on a dirt road, with great views to the valley, the mountains and the desert, but is very near to just about everything in Rio Rancho. We will be staying here again
I was only at the property for a couple of nights while in town but really enjoyed it. It was clean and comfortable and the views were amazing! Thank you Mike and Bernie for your hospitality!
I had a wonderful stay at the Casita. The apartment was very comfortable with a lovely patio out back for a morning coffee. It was far enough off the main drag to be very quiet, yet conveniently close to restaurants, store, and any activities in the area. Mike and Bernie were wonderful hosts. They live on the property and were very available for any questions or assistance I needed, but provided complete privacy otherwise. I would highly recommend the Casita.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mike & Bernie's casita! Super clean, roomy, comfortable, and special touches all around. Would recommend 100%. Mike & Bernie were very friendly and communicated well from beginning to end. Great stay.
Loved meeting & talking with Mike & Bernie— very warm & gracious hosts who went above and during my stay!
The Casita had everything I needed; a highlight was the very comfortable bed for good rest and the location out in the desert.
Very clean home, nice touches of artwork, water & snacks provided, charming architecture…highly recommend!
This property is exactly as advertised. Mike and Bernie were very polite and informative hosts, and the communication was smooth and accurate. I enjoyed the peacefulness and security this property offered. I will definitely be checking on availability of this Casita next time im headong to ABQ.
Delightful accommodations. I could have stayed for weeks, if not longer. Our hosts were most welcoming and communicated well before and during our stay.

The house is beautiful! The host was very attentive and very very nice! Will definitely stay again. It was a beautiful view and so quiet. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
I think this casita is a 5 out of 5! I highly recommend it and will definitely stay here again in the future. Briefly met the owners, they are wonderful. They checked on us when we were coming in and they were headed out. They made sure we knew if we needed anything we could just ask them.
Just north of Albuquerque, the casita was well appointed, quiet, and relaxing with easy access to surrounding neighborhoods - Nob Hill, Sandia Heights, and North Valley.
Mike and Bernie are very kind and thoughtful hosts, which we appreciated.
The location requires a rental car as it’s outside the city but 15 minutes to most local hiking trails, parks, restaurants, and oddities, like the Spaceship UFO house.
Quiet location with easy access to center of Rio Rancho
The property was a 1 bedroom separate apartment with helpful and attentive property owners living next door. Easy to get to, with a gated driveway. Thanks for a great stay.
My friend and I went to the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque and rented this 1 bedroom casita. The casita is adjacent to the owners home, doorways are just steps apart. Owners were so accommodating to anything we needed but also gave us complete privacy. The casita is in a newer subdivision so it is actually secluded and very quiet. Security gates and the owners being on site made us feel very safe. The casita has one queen bed that is super comfortable and a very large and comfy leather sofa. Complete kitchen with anything you need. The casita is at a higher elevation than town and the views are spectacular. Would definitely recommend this to single travelers or couples. Would make the perfect set up for traveling nurse, etc.

Why they chose this property
The reason we picked this location is for the peace and quiet, but more important - the landscape views are outstanding and the wildlife is in abundance. No dangerous wildlife, just a lot of squirrels, quails, hawks, turkey vultures, and coyotes.
What makes this property unique
We are position on the east (westside of Albuquerque) ridge of the volcano's lava flow. You can see the Sandia Mountains, all seven volcanoes, mount Taylor and the Santa Fe Mountains from our land.
