Bluff House - a wonderful oceanfront home a short distance from town.

Experience the drama and magic of the ocean in this lovely ocean bluff setting on the northern edge of Mendocino. Bluff House has a primary (king) and full bath on the main floor and a king room upstairs in the main house, plus an optional cozy cottage with a queen bed/full bathroom. The home is suitable for up to four people in the main house. The cottage is only available to the guest renting the house. It would never be rented to a separate party.

Inside, take advantage of the well-equipped kitchen and breakfast nook. Curl up by the gas fireplace and take in the sunset or a good movie on the large flat-screen TV. Then rest easy in the comfortable bedrooms with king beds.

**Please Note: Because of the cliff-front location, there is a minimum age of 10 years and over required for any guests and there are no pets allowed. Rates are based on occupancy.

Stunning ocean front property with privacy

Convenient to all that the Mendocino Coast has to offer, indoors and outdoors. Cottage was fully-equipped and separate but not cozy. We left a list of maintenance issues with management.

Anniversary Trip

Outstanding Ocean View

We had four days of perfect weather and we’re able to open all the windows and enjoy the soft breeze while watching the sea birds gliding by the living room windows. It was very relaxing. Overall we were happy with our stay, but there were a few things that could be improved. The upstairs bedroom was very hot and stuffy when we arrived. We opened the window and turned on a floor fan, but it took hours before the room became somewhat comfortable. The locks on the doors could use some maintenance. Could have used a few more items in the kitchen, there were only 2 teaspoons and the non-stick fry pans needed to be replaced, there were no bowls for cereal or ice cream. The cottage out back was very cute and comfortable. The location of the house in relation to town was great.

Mendocino Bluff House

Comfortable and clean but lacking in some amenities such as adequate glasses, dishwater, dining chairs with paltry soap in the bathrooms. The place is stocked for 5 people but we had six because we had both units. We did not suffer but just had to scramble a few times.The wifi is inconsistent but that may be because of the area although the router had to be re booted many times.Overall, it is a great place and those few issues would not prevent me from renting again.

The living room furniture was very comfortable with great views. Be aware that the second bath is next to the laundry room and the second floor bedroom has no bath.We did rent the detached cottage and there were some issues but the staff at Mendocino Preferred Properties fully resolved the problems.We will definitely return.

Bluff house and cottage

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have rented this property for several years and this time we also rented the cottage which is part of the property. Probably will not rent the cottage again as it was infested with ants, the heater did not work in the bathroom, and the portable heater that was brought to us tripped the circuit breaker! The rental agent did good to have the maintenance person try to address the problems but for the several hundred dollars it cost extra for the cottage it is not worth it.
