Banksia Bungalow -100m To Town, 15 Mins To Beach!
Based in the Sunshine Coast town of Woombye, this cosy granny flat is full of warmth and charm. First built in the early 1900s, the entire space has been tastefully renovated while maintaining lovely vintage features including exposed timber beams, oil-stained polished concrete floor and VJ walls throughout.
The Space
An idyllic cottage perfect for couples or singles, this intimate, tree-shaded granny flat is situated in the centre of coastal country town, Woombye, only one hour from Brisbane. Read a good book with a glass of wine or soak your worries away in the cast iron clawfoot bath. You can explore the many treasures that the Sunshine Coast has to offer while resting your head at this character-filled cottage!
The cottage houses a luxurious queen ECOSA mattress and all bed linen, beach/bath towels and basic toiletries are provided. Additional linen/towels can be provided on request if required. The kitchenette offers a kettle, toaster, microwave, bar fridge, portable electric hot plate and sink but NO dishwasher, oven or laundry (there is a laundromat in town). The ensuite includes a claw-foot cast iron bath and shower.
Guest access
This listing is a granny flat and, as such, is next door to our main residence. The cottage shares a driveway with our house but has its own front door with smart lock for easy check-in and is completely self-contained (with no shared walls). We respect guests privacy and will not contact you unless necessary, please respect our privacy in return. We are limiting all physical contact at this time so please contact us via phone for any enquiries and do not come to the main house (unless in the case of an emergency).
The property is right in the middle of the town meaning our street gets busy with cars and buses; please expect some road noise during your stay. There is off street parking for one car in front of the cottage and plenty of free parking on the street. You will have use of the cottage and a small area in front of the cottage only. The cottage may not be suited to those with mobility issues due to the shower over bath and several large above ground tree roots on the front yard/driveway.
The property is only suitable for couples and solo travellers. No more than two guests total are permitted, the cottage is cosy (at 20m2 total internally) and not suitable for any more than two. The space is set-up for weekend and weekly getaways and may not be suitable for monthly stays. No pets are allowed.
Other things to note
The property is in a family neighbourhood and noise must be kept to a minimum. The space is not suitable for events of any kind. Please note there is one security camera outside at the front of our main residence, it has a motion sensor and records only the front yard/driveway for security purposes. We have two rescue doggos, Digby and Daisy who are both friendly.
The cottage has wifi, Netflix and Stan via smart TV but no standard television channels. The wifi is a decent speed but not designed for gaming, heavy downloads etc. Phone reception can be patchy depending on your provider. The space has a strong ceiling fan but NO air conditioner.
We do not provide cots, extra beds or high chairs etc.
The entire property is a smoke-free area, please cross the road to smoke if required.
Please note that the cottage is in a country town by the Australian bush. It is great for nature lovers as you may see the following (including, but not limited to); birds, geckos, ants, spiders, crickets, beetles, frogs/toads, possums, native rats, mosquitos, dragonflies, butterflies, sand flies, flies, bees, wasps, moths, caterpillars, bush cockroaches, native water dragons, lizards, snakes and other reptiles around (and possibly inside) the property. The cottage has original vintage windows without screens and us such insects are common (the property is regularly treated for pests and we provide plug-in mosquito deterrents/mosquito repellant). If any of the above bothers you, please re-consider your stay here.
