Nice setting, but missed the mark for us. Incredibly overpriced.
We loved the setting of the house, and the house itself was nice, but we did not feel like this was a good value. We had several issues with our experience: 1) Property manager emailed us outside of VRBO and made us sign something that was not consistent with existing agreement with VRBO. I spent 1+ hour reaching out to property manager and rewriting the contract to reflect the conditions we agreed to. The rules/payment in the original version of the non-VRBO contract were different than what we'd agreed to. 2) Directions to the house were confusing and led us to the wrong house on the property. They were not customized to the house we were renting. 3) A loaded BB-gun was left on a table in the garage within arms reach of my toddler. They knew we had a young child coming and still left a loaded gun accessible. 4) There was garbage already in the trashcans in the house when we arrived and a full dishwasher. 5) There was no hand soap in the bathroom. 6) We paid a cleaning fee nearly equivalent to an entire nights stay AND we were required to strip the beds, start the laundry, start the dishwasher (which we didn't use because it was full and we didn't know where things were supposed to go), and empty all garbage cans. I'd gladly pay the high fee or do the tasks, but why both? 7) We called the property manager to confirm about the cleaning requirements/cleaning fee (since so many of the written expectations were not correct for this rental property) the second day of our stay and did not hear back from the property manager before we left. It wasn't an emergency, but it could have been and I felt like there was no reliable way to get in touch with the property manager. 8) The shower head was broken. Water went every direction but down towards the bathtub, making it very difficult to use and not flood the bathroom.
