Girls weekend
We had so much fun. Waking up to the view of the lake and the sound of the Loon's was wonderful. Loved the cozy feeling the home has. The host's were wonderful. The host's were very thoughtful in their preparations for us.

This house was very clean and the deck was so pleasant for enjoying the view of Fish Hook Lake. It is a great place to have a group of people stay as there were many bedrooms and many different types of beds for all. The kitchen is well stocked with spices, olive oil, some flour, sugar and plenty of basics in dishes and glassware. This house has been updated and all floors are new and walls are newly painted. The sun room is great and has new windows and fun furniture and table for dining. There is a 2nd bathroom downstairs that is going to be completed but is fine for use. The garage is off limits and is quite old but it has character and I'm sure it will also get a facelift at some time. The owners have done amazing work on restoring this home and we all appreciated all they have done. They have also created a space for retreats that is perfect for a number of people. I recommend this place especially for a group.

The trip was almost a wash
We got to the property expecting to have a carefree stay. The house was clean enough. The listing said nothing about the home being in the middle of a remodeling. There was no washer and dryer so we had to go spend $24 at the laundry mat. We were harassed after we got home by the owner about a bean bag from a game we didn't play, things that were stocked in the house that had been used up during our stay. Basically being accused of stealing. There were 2 rooms that were completely inaccessible and a pile of something in the yard covered in plastic.

About the host

Hosted by Annette Bethel

Host profile image
Growing up, this was Annette's childhood home and now it's been transformed into a space dedicated to providing individuals and families with an opportunity to experience connection and respite. We both experienced life as widow and widower and then found each other and now love this new adventure, called life, together. Our home farm is only a few miles from our lake home, where we have chickens, grass-fed cattle, horses and goats. Outside of this, Annette is a Reflexologist and Mark, a carpenter. Between the two of us we have 6 children (1 of which is our angel daughter) and 6 beautiful grandchildren. Life is full and now to be able to offer guests a stay at The Bethel House (which is beautiful but more work to be had), we are blessed.

Why they chose this property

Only 4 miles from Park Rapids, a beautiful neighborhood, and amazing sunrises. Bring your boat, there is plenty of space to park your trailer and the boat landing is only 2 miles away.

What makes this property unique

The sunrises are breathtaking.
