You are within walking distance to the harbor to get a local lunch on the wharf, or walk to the beautiful private beach in search of seaglass or explore the tide pools. On a low tide you can even cross the sandbar and explore one if not two of the islands. We are a one hour drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park and a 15 minute drive to the Schoodic section of Acadia, there is also a seasonal ferry service from neighboring Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor. The main house has 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths and we have an extra guest room detached from the house with an en suite bath. Renters get a discounted tour for up to 4 people on our Catch Your Dinner-Lobster Boat Tour, a great coastal Maine experience located right in Corea harbor. The tours run seasonally from Memorial Day to Columbus Day. This location will give you the true feeling of Coastal Maine, it has a beautiful backyard with lighted patio and firepit, extensive gardens that are great for viewing flowers and passing wildlife. There are two window-filled sunrooms that allow you to feel almost as though you are outside. There is also a big open plan kitchen with a large island for gathering together over cooking dinner. This property is a true gem.

This was a great vacation property. House was very clean and well stocked. The Village of Corea is charming. We hiked the trails to Little Moose Island, visited the lighthouse and had lunch on the wharf. The National Park trails were challenging and of course, beautiful this time of year.
The property is beautiful and the location was exactly what we wanted…. Quiet and away from the bustle. Melissa went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed. I look forward to going back!
The property was in a quiet location about an hour outside of Bar Harbor. The home and detached suite were very well maintained. We had everything we needed from towels to washcloths to filtered water in the fridge. We enjoyed making smores and listening to music in the backyard.
The one point of contention, which is relative, was the ease of getting to the beach. For our group, it was more of a hike than a casual walk as the trail was not maintained and some of us had mobility issues to begin with. If, however, you are in relatively good shape with no mobility issues, it should be relatively painless for you.
That being said, the home and yard were immaculate, well-maintained and clean. It was quiet since the area was an hour outside of Bar Harbor. We saw quite a few dear between the VRBO and Acadia National Park, especially at night. I would not hesitate to rent again as these hosts provide amazing lodging!
We stayed at this lovely home during our Boston/Maine vacation (3 grown sons and my husband and me). We combined it with the “catch your dinner” lobster boat tour which is also operated by the owners of this home. I highly recommend both the home and the tour! Melissa was very responsive to my messages (and accommodating since we had a couple of changes to our itinerary). She has decorated her home beautifully and has thought of everything that you might need during your stay. We felt very welcome and comfortable. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.
Corea is very small but we walked to a sandy beach and even saw a fox and a beaver! We also walked down to the heath bog at dusk and got beautiful photos.
Lastly, I can’t say enough good things about Dan and Taylor and their lobster boat excursion! They were both friendly and informative. Everyone felt like this was our highlight of the trip! We learned A LOT about lobsters and while we were out on the boat, we saw puffins, seals, and a bald eagle! We also really enjoyed lunch at the wharf afterwards (where they graciously cooked our lobsters that Dan gave us after our lobster boat excursion). We also went to two other nearby restaurants which were recommended by the family - Bunkers and The Gallery - and loved them both! Good food and very personable owners and staff.
Great experience!
Kitchen was very well stocked with everything you need to make meals as well as plenty of linens and things as well.
Beautiful, very welcoming and comfortable.
Owner communication was very prompt and helpful.
This house was a total surprise. We were expecting a glorified hotel room and instead we had a beautiful home. This place encouraged us to sit down, relax and enjoy the day. Which is, surprisingly what we needed and did.
We had a wonderful time! The house and property were beautifully maintained- making for a comfortable stay! The house had everything we needed. Awesome location, close to some of our favorite spots. Melissa was friendly and helpful. Thank you Melissa and Daniel!
635 Corea Rd is a wonderful Maine retreat. The house is impeccably clean and comfortable. Melissa has thought of everything to meet her guests every need. We had a terrific stay and look forward to returning for a trip on the lobster boat!!
Beautifully decorated home with lots of attention to detail. Owners have ensured that the house is well-kept and have also kept the information about local area handy. We had a great time visiting Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Schoodic loop, Bangor and local attractions/restaurants. We enjoyed the quietness of Corea and enjoyed the Lunch on the Wharf which is a 2 minute walk from the home. We would love to stay again in the future.
Beautifully decorated and a very warm and cozy feel. It’s an hour away from Bar Harbor but we loved getting away from the activity of that area at the end of the day. Can’t wait to come back!
What a beautiful home - artfully and tastefully decorated, filled with everything you need and hosts were very attentive. LOVED the outdoor space and all the rooms for relaxation. Lots of places to explore nearby and not enough time! Wish we had another week to explore and then another week to just relax at the house. Quaint coastal Maine town, great restaurants nearby, hour from Bar Harbor - did the whale watch and explored downtown; visited Acadia as well. So much to do in the area and we thoroughly LOVED our time at this beautiful out of the way quiet home. Hope to be back!
We were a group of 2 parents and 7 adult children. On our quest to see national parks we found our way here. Corea is a quiet, quaint town and this home is beautiful! It's a bit of travel time to get to the park but not difficult. The ferry was really fun and have a different view of the park. Coming back to this great house was very enjoyable.
Beautiful home, on beautiful property, in beautiful area! My husband and I, as well as our 3 college aged children and Aussie and small mixed breed dog thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay here. This immaculate home was spacious, beautifully decorated and very comfortable! We utilized all areas of the house including the kitchen seating areas, sunrooms, back deck overlooking lupines in full bloom, as well as the fire pit area. Plenty of space for us to all sit together as well as find a quiet spot all our own when needed. My communications with the owner were answered promptly and courteously. The location in the small fishing village of Corea was perfect for us! Very quiet! Friendly residents! And close proximity to everything we wanted to do! We would definitely stay again when coming back to this area of Maine. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and created some wonderful memories. And even though the weather was not ideal we hiked and adventured everyday of our stay. Our children commented several times on what a relaxing and stress-free vacation this was!
Thanks for the memories!
The house is immaculate and comfortable. The property is amazingly beautiful, adorned with native plants and lovely ornamentals. The owners are friendly, accommodating and helpful. We would be happy to stay there again.
Beautiful home with lovely yard and surroundings. Our children along with us enjoyed visiting and touring the spacious yard and surround fishing village. The owners were so accommodating and communicative. Really felt like they captured the essence of Maine!
Loved this place! Felt like we really got to see and know Maine, and loved the lobsters! This place was perfect for our large family group - we would stay here again in a heartbeat!
We had an excellent stay. The house is warm and inviting; the hosts are gracious; and the surrounding community is lovely. I highly recommend this property.
A beautiful home in a quiet, scenic location. Everything was meticulous, and had everything we could possibly need. We especially enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings. A perfect spot to explore the area!
Beautiful house that has been completely renovated, large space with plenty of bedrooms, and a fantastic Kitchen. The house was incredibly nice and well taken care of. Large backyard with a nice fire pit, was a great wind-down each evening.
It is a bit far from Acadia, about 1 hour each way, but we just planned accordingly. However, it is far from the hustle and bustle of something like Bar Harbor and it's craziness. Area was super quiet and very private.
We really enjoyed the stay and would definitely think about coming back here in the future. The property owner was very easy to work with, super nice and answered a number of questions. Super easy check-in/check-out process made the stay even more seamless. Don't hesitate to stay at this property!

My husband and I were both born and raised in the town of Gouldsboro, my husband in the village of Corea and myself in the village of Birch Harbor. We have always loved this home since we were young, and it finally came up for sale so we decided we should buy it as a rental home so we could still have a home in our hometown. I do property management and I help my husband Dan with our lobster boat tours. Dan is a full time commercial lobster fisherman and also the Captain of our lobster tours. We do the tours during the summer months to take people out to educate about our lobster industry and see our beautiful coastline and our wildlife such as harbor and gray seals and the beautiful Atlantic puffin.
Why they chose this property
Our home is very charming, it is classy but has that vintage coastal Maine feeling. The backyard is very private, and you are just a three minute walk to the harbor. We are located on the beautiful Schoodic peninsula which is known as the quiet side of Acadia. We have great hiking, walking, and biking trails, beautiful scenery making it a great place to explore & relax. Bar Harbor is accessible by a ferry service located in neighboring Winter Harbor, this makes it easy to get back and forth without having to deal with traffic and parking.
What makes this property unique
A very unique benefit is with staying at our home we will give a 15% discount for up to 4 people on one of our "Catch Your Dinner" Lobster boat tours. The season runs from Memorial Day-Labor Day you can check out our website at lobster.tours. You are also staying at the home of locals that grew up right here in the town.
