Lots of puzzles and games in an upstairs cabinet. Ping-pong table, pool table, foosball table, and lots of toys in the downstairs play room.

River-front property for your gatherings and water fun is included, with: fire pit, large grassy area, shade trees, and small beach. S'mores and lightning-bug capturing can be a nightly activity (lots of on-site wood for your fire)! Several watercrafts (Jon boat rated for 8 people, Hobie catamaran sail boat, 2 kayaks, 2 vintage aluminum canoes, 2 inflatable boats, several inner tubes) available on site for rent. Several life jackets (20), camp chairs (12), & s'mores sticks (8) available for your use.

A few minutes south of historic Nauvoo (view of temple in the distance from the river front). 10-15 min to Keokuk amenities (Walmart, etc).

Great place for a large group
The house was wonderful! We had plenty of space for our large group, even ending up with an extra room of bunks. We loved having the large dining area for meals, but could have used some softer seating upstairs for game nights (the kids had control of the downstairs living room with the comfy couches). The racks of linens and towels was very convenient. Minor negatives—the outside area was less flat than anticipated, making it difficult for a game of catch, but we made great use of the fire pit and the kids had races on the circle drive. I’m also not sure if it would be logistically possible, but having a door between the main upstairs hallway and the back of the house would have been beneficial to keep said game night noise from traveling to the back where we had babies sleeping.

Amazing property
Family reunion with all ages. This property was perfect. Loads of bedrooms, bathrooms & space. Kitchen & dining area are huge-plenty of space for big meals. Downstairs game room easily accommodated a big group. The separate bunk house was perfect for the teens.

Great Family reunion location
This property was wonderful. It accommodated 27 people with ease. Wonderful amenities and much to do very close to historic Nauvoo. The only negative was the water pressure was a little weak in the basement area. Other than that everything was well thought out and we had a wonderful stay.

Family Reunion
Our very large family really enjoyed our time at the lodge. The family enjoyed the games, record player, toys and so much more. With the double stoves it made it so easy to cook for our huge family. Their were plenty of bathrooms for all of us to use without having to wait. On our first night there was a very bad storm which knocked out the power. We messaged Phil and Heidi and they quickly got back to us with a response from the power company and for a solution for our bathroom needs. Overall we really liked this place and will more than likely go back and will definitely recommend to our friends.

What a great facility and location
The lodge is large, clean, and beautiful. Our 25 member family had lots of space, lots of eating space, a large, well-stocked kitchen and lots of grounds outside to explore. You have your own private park with total seclusion for your family. It is an ideal location for visiting Nauvoo being only 10 minutes max, south of Nauvoo. Great views of the Mississippi. It even had a huge bin of Legos which was a hit with the grandkids. Would highly recommend this to anyone with a larger family or group. Air conditioning worked great!!

Phil took a particular interest in Nauvoo years ago while visiting with a youth group. Several years later his dream of owning property in Nauvoo finally came true. Since then, we have picked up a few more properties, this being the largest and most fun! One of the other properties is an old Kirche (church) built in 1872 by a German-speaking congregation; it has original stained-glass windows, beautiful hardwood floors and soaring ceilings (ask for more info if you would like to add the use of the Kirche to your Lodge rental).

Why they chose this property

This property is a vacation within itself. Add to that Nauvoo's historic sites or a visit to Hannibal for the Mark-Twain sites and you have a week (or more) packed with adventure!

What makes this property unique

Where else can you find a place in Nauvoo that sleeps this many people, has large on-site gathering spaces (inside and out), this many bedrooms/bathrooms, and has water-front property? Add to that watercrafts to rent and woods to explore. You'll never want to leave!
