We had some family things in Brainerd and I wanted a quiet place to unwind at night. Ben’s place near Long Lake was just the spot! I’ve stayed at a lot of vacation homes, the bed was honestly the 2nd best of all time! The cabin has all the amenities and more you could want to use for a week away. The in-floor heat is especially nice for an early morning coffee. Ben was Very Responsive and quick to anything that came up, including notification to me that the internet was down and he had someone come to fix it quickly. If I return for a visit to the Brainerd Lakes area again I would book one of his properties!
It's close to everything yet serene and secluded. It was a great experience. Very comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen. Book it, you won't regret it.
Ben and Mackenzie’s place was relaxing, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing.
You truly feel like you are away in this secluded cabin. They had everything you needed, and the host responded quickly to any questions.
Would love to return again!
When we opened the door, it was love at first sight. The decor and furnishings give the cottage such a comfortable, cozy feeling. Loved the privacy. The firepit and the wildlife made the peaceful surroundings even better. We will definitely be staying here again!
The cabin was better than the listing! Kitchen is huge, with an amazing amount of cabinet and counter space. Love the island, and up to date appliances!! Lots of living space. Bedrooms were comfy and the loft is such a plus, my grandson loved the birds eye view of the inside;). We were visited by turkeys, and squirrels. Fire pit and patio were much appreciated! Enjoy walking the property and took a short trip to wander the shores of the Mississippi River at the French Access. Will definitely tell family and friend about our experience!!
As we drove up to this remote cabin this winter, deer and turkey scattered. The inside interior is open making it feel larger than it is. The main bedroom is on the floor level, the second bedroom is in the loft accessed by a large ladder. The queen beds were firm and comfortable. The bathroom had a deep tub with plenty of hot water to take a soak in. My favorite spot was two chairs that faced the back. I drank coffee and watched the breeze sway the tree tops - it was mesmerizing. I definitely would recommend this cabin whether for solitude or hardy entertainment it will meet your needs.
My friend and I wanted a place to stay where we could get away from home and spend a week crafting. The space looks like it was converted from a garage, so it was really cute and I think they picked all of the right elements for the space! It is not 100% clear in the listing, but one of the beds is in a loft.
Speaking of beds, this a preference thing. The VRBO has memory foam mattresses, which aren’t my favorite, but I do know lots of people like those. So if you are a picky sleeper, this might be something to keep in mind.
I think overall the cleaning could use an improvement. My friend and I have both been housekeepers (and she had a cleaning business) for some higher end places where we live. We also aren’t too bothered by it, but someone else might be. There were things like cobwebs in the windows and corners, so a more detailed cleaning would do this place good.
Another thing to keep in mind is if you have mobility issues. The tub is quite tall.
When we got there, one of the beds was not made and no sheets were there, which wasn’t great as we got there late after a long day of travel. BUT! The host was extremely responsive and helped us out right away by sending someone out to bring us the supplies we needed. When my car wouldn’t start on our last day, they also assisted in finding a local place to help. So both of us really appreciated how attentive the host was and helped us resolve any issues in a timely manner. We would stay again!
The location is private and surrounded by beautiful trees giving it a nice, woodsy feel. We had a night fire in the firepit outdoors even though it was in the temp was in the teens and it was wonderful. I imagine coming back in the warmer weather with my kids having a bonfire and cooking hotdogs & Smores over the fire after an adventurous day outdoors.
The cabin was modern & very comfortable; the concrete floors with the in-floor heat were amazing!
No complaints! We had a nice 3 night getaway without the kids... great area! Highly Recommend!
I had a great time at the cabin. It was a perfect spot to get away from the cities for a quick midweek trip. Kitchen had everything I needed, the bed was comfy and the location was amazing! Quick trip into town and the local golf courses. Ben was great to work with. Awesome property, would absolutely stay again!
This place was very clean, beautiful inside and so peaceful outside, I’ve stayed at lots of places and this was one of those places I didn’t want to leave . Sat and watched a Doe and her 2 fawns every morning out back it was so awesome.
Will definitly stay again.
My 3 adult daughters and I stayed 2 nights at this property. The whole of the interior was very clean, up to date, and comfortable. There were some outside entertainment areas that maybe needed a little landscaping and weeding to match the interior, but were still okay. We had a great time!
Wow! The pictures and current reviews do not do justice to this little place and the property around it. My best friend and I used it as our home base for a girls' weekend. The property is so serene, nested in the trees. We even saw a deer lying in the grass about 50' away. When we entered the home, we were greeted with the beauty and warm smell of cedar. We had rain during our stay so were able to sit INSIDE the house in comfy chairs near the back screens, listen to the rain and the wind through the treetops, and feel the cool breeze. Heaven!
Having simple things like ample coffee and a hair dryer were just the touches needed to enhance our stay.
Really. Stay here if you're in the area.
Great cottage in the woods. Wonderful up north Thanksgiving! My family enjoyed our stay and would go back again!

Why they chose this property
This property just jumped out to my wife an I. Set on a secluded 5 acres it really does provide solitude and a feeling of being out in the middle of the forest by yourself. The styling has some rustic feel to it while also having all of the modern amenities you could want. Happy to share this property with you all!
What makes this property unique
The nature views. Almost always when I'm up on the property I encounter deer, turkey, and all sorts of wildlife.
