Hotel California is a lovely place that is semi-oceanfront, spacious, and allows you to enjoy ocean views, sea breezes, and all the amenities you'll need for a comfortable and entertaining vacation. Enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee from the top-level deck. Hotel California offers plenty of room on the covered and sun decks, spacious bedrooms that all have private baths, and an open concept in the great room and dining area with space to spread out, but still have time together sharing meals and memories of the day. Your beach access is only a short walk away where you can spend the day enjoying the sun and waves. Outdoor entertainment lets you float in the pool (pool heat can be added for an additional fee.) or relax in the hot tub after a busy day. For indoor entertainment enjoy the rec room with a pool table and wet bar with a full-size refrigerator so you can have snacks and beverages on hand and for movie time the media room will be the perfect spot for that. Exploring the Outer Banks: Hotel California is located in Southern Shores and is in close proximity to the Wright Memorial Bridge and is convenient to attractions in Duck, Kitty Hawk, and Kill Devil Hills.
Beach Access: Just across the street from the house! Cross Route 12 safely at the marked pedestrian crosswalk. Lifeguard stand (in-season only) is located slightly north at the Chicahauk Access.
Heated pools are available Week Prior to Easter through Memorial Day and Labor Day Week through Mid-October.
Pools are set at a comfortable 78-80 degrees during the heated season. Please note that for optimal performance, outside temperatures must remain around 60 degrees or warmer. Various weather conditions such as wind speed and direction can affect the heat performance.
No Smoking/Vaping. No Pets. Private pools open Easter through Columbus Day.
All reservations are offered to purchase travel insurance for an additional 7.75% of your rent and taxes. Please refer to the rental agreement you will be signing to accept or decline this coverage as your refund in the time of cancellation will be dependent on your acceptance in most situations. All guests must sign and return a rental agreement before reservations are confirmed. Payment for travel insurance, if accepted, will be processed upon receipt of this signed agreement.
Standard cancellation policy is: CANCELLATION POLICY and SUBSTITUTIONS - Any changes, including changing dates, switching of properties, or complete cancellations will invoke the cancellation policy. Agent recommends all Renters purchase travel insurance offered at time of booking to protect them in the event of an unexpected event affecting their vacation. Agent cannot offer future credits or immediate refunds for unexpected cancellations due to emergencies regardless of the situation, including but not limited to weather events and acts of God, unexpected illnesses, injury or death, changing of plans, or job loss. Please do not ask. All cancellations are subject to a fifty dollar ($50.00) cancellation fee. Cancellations must be submitted to Agent in writing (email is acceptable). In the event of cancellation, no refund of monies paid will be made unless the Property is re-rented for the same price and time period of this original vacation rental agreement. If the Property is re-rented for a lesser price or time period, the original Tenant will receive a refund for the difference between the originally agreed upon rental amount and the rebooked rental amount as Owner is entitled to receive the full amount of the original rental agreement. Agent will make every effort to re-rent the Property at the full amount. Tenant acknowledges that Agent has full discretion on negotiating rental rates in an effort to get the Property re-rented and make the Owner whole, while also attempting to get the Tenant the highest refund possible.
