What other guests are saying" STAY HERE! You won’t regret it. Photos of this place (although beautiful) still don’t do it justice. The floor to ceiling windows + 360 views + the sounds of the backyard stream made this place exceptional. It’s in a beautiful gated community with amenities but within the home you get complete privacy as it’s nestled in the woods. The surrounding area is also beautiful - we were able to squeeze in some amazing waterfall hikes, wine tasting at Fainting Goat vineyards, & Gibbs Gardens. Valerie was an incredible host - she was more than accommodating & very attentive." - guest, April 2022

"This place is absolute perfection! The location, the views, the cabin, everything about it is like something out of a book!" - guest, May 2022

The floor to ceiling windows make you feel as if you are a part of the outdoors even while inside the home. The porches are conveniently accessible from the living and kitchen area.

In the main floor you will also conveniently find the master bedroom with a king bed and double vanity bathroom.

Enjoy playing game boards or playing ping pong that can all be played in any of the common areas or screened in porches while you take in the relaxing sounds of the creek and woods.

Weekend getaway

We visited for a weekend getaway. It was our first time to Big Canoe. The home was true to the listing. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we needed to cook dinner. The beds were very comfortable. We had a wonderful time!

Beautiful. Quiet. Relaxing

Picturesque property set back in the woods. Pictures are accurate. The stream behind the cabin lends an extra level of serenity. Limited parking.

Beautiful house!

We only stayed one night to celebrate our daughter's birthday with some of her friends, but wish we'd stayed the whole weekend! The house has everything you need and the views are amazing! Everything is very comfy and we all loved our stay. It's in a great location...just a short 5 minute drive to the beach club and not too far up with steep hills as we've had in the past. Great house for a great vacation!! And communication with Valerie was excellent! Thank you for sharing your house!

Big Canoe is great for play and relaxing...

We enjoyed our stay at Big Canoe and since I have been coming to Big Canoe since 1972 we have seen the growth and changes. This home is nestled in the woods by an amazing stream yet only minutes from the lake, swim club, marina and golf course. This home works perfectly for (7) individuals or fewer. Very nice!

About the host

Hosted by Valerie

Host profile image
A premier VRBO host. Valerie is an outstanding host with years of experience creating and designing unforgettable stays for her guests.

A world traveller, Valerie loves adventure and hospitality.

Why they chose this property

Valerie was looking in the market for several years for a mountain home/cabin that would be unique and that would offer a feeling of peace while incorporating indoor-outdoor living.

She discovered that many cabins would feel boxy and old, and Valerie was looking for a space that felt spacious and modern, while still feeling cozy. After seeing dozens of mountain homes, Valerie fell in love with this home the moment she stepped into this cabin, and she hopes you will too!

What makes this property unique

- Above a private creek, all rooms have view of the creek

- Step out on one of the balconies or decks or simply open the floor-ceiling windows and let all daily stress melt away with the sounds of the water

- Modern kitchen with high-end gas stove, double oven, and all the appliances you would ever need!

- Upstairs and downstairs deck !

- Very secluded and private (other cabins in Big Canoe are right next to other cabins and don't offer the privacy this home has!)
