Relaxing family vacation
We (8 adults + 3 children) had such a wonderful stay at this beautifully decorated historic beach house! It was well appointed with plenty of room to spread out, comfortable beds, and a lovely front porch. The small neighborhood beach was perfect, especially for our grandgirls ages 6-9. On top of all that, the owners are very nice and were very responsive and helpful - answering all my questions in detail! We hated to leave and hope to come back another year!

Relaxing Beach Getaway
The house was very well appointed with everything one needs. When we arrived the house was clean and the owner had left some beautiful cut flowers in a vase on the dining room table. Nice touch. I especially loved the views from the porch and hope to visit again, soon!

Feels like home
2017 was our 5th year at The Beach House and we have booked for our 6th year in 2018. Our party consists of several kids (adults) and 5 grandchildren . There is plenty of room for everyone. The house is located directly on a private beach and sitting on the huge porch watching the grand kids in the water is a great way to spend an afternoon. Sitting by the fire on a chilly night isn't too bad either! We have established traditions like celebrating 2 of the grand kids and my wife's birthdays at The Beach House. The grand kids start badgering us about The Beach House starting around May of each year. The house is equipped with everything that you need whether cooking, playing games, reading or playing in the water. This year we asked if the house might be available for a few days for Thanksgiving. We did not realize when we asked that the house was closed up for the winter. Anne, Russell, Susan and Gary graciously opened it for 3 days for us. This may well become a new tradition. This review will not adequately convey how much that you will enjoy this home.

New London Gem
Loved loved the house, felt like I stepped back in time sitting on the porch facing the ocean kept wondering what it was like so many years ago. House was clean and comfortable! Can’t beat the private beach with soft sand. My 3 year old Grandson was amazed by the light house and the ferries traveling back and forth. Would recommend this rental property

Loved waking up to the sound of the waves,
What a wonderful house for a large family to vacation at. We rented it for my daughter’s US Coast Guard Academy graduation and it was perfect for us.

Family Vacay
My family had such a wonderful time at this beautiful property! We were a group of 7 adults and 4 children (12, 5, 4 and 20 months old) --and this home was spacious enough to support our family and then some. We did not leave the property to experience some of the local attractions......this WAS the attraction. We have a saying in our family--we don't watch television on vacation when you have access to "channel 1"----the gorgeous view!--the lighthouse, the floating dock with a diving board, the private sandy beach, and the beautiful sailboats/ferries that traverse the water on a daily basis. My children and grandchildren all want to go back next summer! Just a very comfortable home with good vibes! The owners were a dream to work with--even mailing YETI tumblers/glasses to us that we left behind! When we arrived---there were fresh flowers in vases throughout the home---such a special touch. The kitchen is well stocked. There were games for children of all ages. We completed a 1000 piece puzzle of "Lighthouses of New England" on the beautiful porch with the New London Ledge Lighthouse as a backdrop.....! I can't say enough about this home and the family that owns the home......We hope to be back next summer!

Fantastic House, Fantastic Beach!
First off, the house is better than the pictures, if you can believe it. The property is well maintained, and the house is extremely functional. We were a group of 5 adults, 2 adult children and an 18 month old and we all had a great time. The proximity of the beach to the house makes everything very easy. The owners were a pleasure to deal with. Very responsive, very reasonable, and very nice. All of our questions were answered quickly and accurately. They provided us with restaurant suggestions for our stay, which was very nice since we were not familiar with the area. We didn't want to leave this magical place and we are all counting the days till we can return. Thank you Susan and Anne for such a lovely vacation! We truly enjoyed every minute at your fantastic home.

Great view
We really enjoyed this property and the fabulous view. Having a beach right outside your steps is wonderful and loved the porch, too! The owners helped us find a caterer that was terrific and we loved our stay! Thanks for having us. Hope to come back in the mid summer to enjoy the kayaks and water and stay a bit longer, too.

Classic NE Gem on Private Beach for Families
My family and I have come to New London for the past five summers. We've stayed at different houses every year but this house is definitely our favorite house because: - it is right on the private beach so it is easy to get the most out of the beach all day long without the hassle of lugging things back and forth - directly in front of the house, about 200 feet from the shore, there is a floating raft which our kids love to swim out to and jump off of...for hours!! - it's about 500 steps from Ocean Park (you can get access to it on the from the beach and don't have to pay the entrance fee) which is chock-full of activities to keep kids busy all week such as waterslides, playground, nature walk, crabbing tidal pool, outdoor olympic pool, splash pad, arcade, mini golf and small amusement park. Ocean Park is heaven for kids, especially those between the ages of 2 to 12 years old. - the house fit us comfortably, 6 adults and a handful of kids. We stayed at 3 other large houses in Neptune Park / Ocean Beach area in years past and this one was the best! Clean, well taken care of and full of everything you could need for a week at the beach including lounge chairs and beach toys. I liked the room in the attic the best - quiet, relaxing and a view of the beach. - The owners are warm, wonderful and welcoming. We had one rainy day last year and the TV nook in the living room was too small to fit all of us but the owner called us and let us know where they kept the games and puzzles and we had a fun family day indoors. Honestly, we felt like we discovered a gem when we first came here. There are crowds now on the weekend at Ocean Beach but the private beach, where this house is located, is never crowded. Most families we've met there return every year. It is like stepping back in time and the memories from our summers in New London will sustain me for a lifetime!

Wonderful Beach House
The house was a great fit for our group of 12 adults and four young children - lots of bedrooms supplied with comfortable beds, closets and dressers, lamps and clocks, and a large living room and dining room with lots of seating spaces in both. The views of the ocean from around the house are wonderful and the covered porch with awnings is very large and comfortable, with rockers and a dining table and benches. The kitchen is very large, with enough space and counter surface to allow 6 adults to comfortably prepare meals together, and the hatch to the living room lets the kitchen crew see the ocean and talk to people in the living room and the porch. The kitchen is stocked with lots of pots, pans and kitchen tools, as well as plates and utensils for a large group. We particularly liked the house's accomodations for children - toys, children's books, and children's plates and utensils were easily found. The beach is steps down from the house and it was easy for both children and adults to play in the water, swim, play on the beach, kayak and sail. The house was clean and well-maintained, with lovely age and character - and we loved that the outdoor shower even has a little changing space!
