-Our apartment is cozy yet bright with tall ceilings and windows and beautiful views of Downtown The Dalles and the Columbia River Gorge. There are two rooms, one bedroom and one office with a desk, chair, and sofa. -The apartment is particularly secluded, as it sits atop a hill at the end of E 5th St and neighbors city owned green space. You'll feel like you've landed at a little pad above it all, while being right in the center. -A full kitchen with all cooking amenities makes it easy to cook and eat in the apartment, but great dining and food is just a few steps away as well. -The bathroom features an extra deep soaking tub and all new tile and vanity. There is also an oversized washer and dryer available for your use. *Please note that we require a rental agreement and security deposit (just like a hotel) for this property*

I will start by saying the front porch could use a little refresh and cleaning. That's the reason for a 4 on cleanliness. Inside was awesome so don't let the porch issue stop you. Inside is clean and neat. All the comforts of home. The bed is one of the most comfortable I've slept in. Great attention to detail and we loved our stay. Be mindful of the road outside of the unit as it's one way around a curve and people tend to fly around the corner.

About the host
Hosted by Jaime Tulley
We living in Hood River full time but have a particular penchant for The Dalles. It sits humbly on the eastern edge of The Columbia River Gorge and offers a richer history, culture and outdoor haven than most even realize. Not to mention, it’s far sunnier than all points west, making it a desirable destination in the rainy seasons.
We’ve always wanted to own a little slice of The Dalles, for our own enjoyment and sharing with others. We came across this modest but perfectly located duplex, full of character and history, in 2020 and jumped on it. We spent a year renovating and updating the interior with modern amenities and finishings…we just can’t get over its sunny disposition and expansive views of The Dalles and Columbia River. We are so lucky to have it as one of our homes.
Why they chose this property
We’ve always known The Dalles is an extra special place that most people don’t get a chance to experience. We’re hoping to offer a perfect landing pad for folks to visit and experience The Dalles / Eastern Gorge for just a few days or extended stays.
What makes this property unique
We are just 3 blocks from the quaint Downtown shops, restaurants & cafes, but perched atop a hill at the end of a dead end road with no immediate neighbors…you feel secluded and cozy. The building itself is older with plenty of character (super tall ceilings and windows letting in all that sun!), but we’ve updated it to be a comfortable modern apartment. Walk or bike nearly anywhere in town or take a short car ride to dozens of local attractions from wineries, breweries, hikes, fishing, wind surfing and more.
