Enjoy your stay at our fully renovated Farmhouse situated on 3 acres. Spacious, garden covered and beautiful shady trees line the property, leading you down to a beautiful view of where river meets ocean. Next to the rustic barn with the tin roof, you will often be met with eagles as they come to sit on their perch overlooking the water. The house was fully renovated in Spring of 2022 and was renewed to much its original beauty. Boasting open beam ceilings and original plank floors, the Little Dutch House (original owners came over from the Netherlands in 1953) is ready to show off all of the updates to those looking to have a relaxing vacation on the Northumberland Shore. 5 bedrooms include 2 king beds, 1 queen and 2 doubles. Full bathroom is completely updated. Laundry on site. Pets welcome with pre-approval upon discussion. Guests will be provided with a full brochure on what to see and do while in the area. Don't miss out, you'll love your stay at The (not so) Little Dutch House!

Our group of friends had an excellent stay! Five beds and separate bedrooms upstairs were perfect for our group as well as a big open concept kitchen, large dining room table and comfortable living room. I would definitely come here again and recommend it to others.

Weekend Away

Little Dutch house is a perfect spot to get away for a couple days with a few friends. The outside property is perfect for washer toss, croquet, bocci ball etc.... tons of space. Inside the house you will find everything you need. Kitchen island is always the main hangout space at any Maritime gathering and this was no exception. Multiple bedrooms allow for many guests to be comfortable. This was our second year booking at the Little Dutch House and will be booking again for next year.

This older farmhouse is as beautifully redone while still retaining its classic charm. A great location along the water with a variety of outdoor seating. The host was friendly and very responsive to any questions we had. I would highly recommend it for adults or a family.

A Beautiful Location in Pictou County!

Dawn and Jason have done an amazing VRBO rental. In less than a year, they have made a family home that they purchased, a perfect haven to visit. We were so comfortable, even our Lemon Beagle, Gypsy was delighted. I am always in appreciation of people who give a home like this, a new lease on life! So tastefully done too!

Weekend stay

Just home from staying at the farmhouse and we had a wonderful time. We were a large group of 40 year old women and this cottage more than met our needs-comfortable beds, good kitchen facilities/supplies and enough space for sitting around the table and in the living room. The host, Dawn, was great and easy to communicate with! Highly recommend this spot for a getaway for a large family or friend group!!
