About this property

Nicest glamping spot in West Virginia

Stay tuned for spring, summer, fall release dates for booking!

Nothing fancy here but everything you need for a great trip to Pocahontas County (Nature’s Mountain Playground) and all it has to offer. We've owned this place for 10 years, gutted it and it's been a fun project. Now we're finally "done done" and ready for you to enjoy it too.

Cabin on top of a mountain in the woods close to 5 West Virginia State Parks and steps from the Monongahela National Forest (down the street). Snowshoe Mountain (best skiing and mountain biking in the East!) is only 45 minutes away. Cass Railroad, National Radio Telescope, kayaking the Greenbrier River all within minutes. 3BR, 1BA cabin (pull-out couch in living room), fully equipped kitchen, and an outbuilding that we turned into a farmhouse game room. Must bring own linens. Private. Quiet. Remote (hell, it's in the middle of nowhere with a few neighbor camps nearby) on top of a 2,800 foot mountain. Wi-Fi is available but the cabin is in the Greenbank Observatory Quiet Zone - no cell service - but wifi calling works at the cabin. We're also on a cistern system for water that we fill periodically with clean city water (not a well) but we try to conserve to avoid running out - just an FYI. Big campfire area (wood provided) and a hammock for relaxing. Tons of games, old movies, books and things to do. Trout streams can be reached with the car in neutral.

We love pets, but we're sorry.. NO PETS. NO EXCEPTIONS. You might see bears, deer, wild turkey and you'll hear roosters off in the distance. Use directions provided to get here, not GPS. You’re gonna love it! Check us out on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/HoffhausCabin/

Getting away from it all
This "glamping" experience was fantastic! Of course, we had everything we needed - inc. running water, shower, comfy beds, a great heater in the kitchen, fully stocked kitchen, etc. We enjoyed relaxing and unplugging from the world (of course, there is good wifi inside the cabin and directly near it when outside). We even sat outside near the bonfire just enjoying nature and the great fall weather. Lastly, the best part was the incredibly accommodating and communicative hosts who went above and beyond to make sure that one of us could take a work Zoom call during our stay. (Answer: it worked fine!) Thank you for letting us stay at your cabin ;-)

Great place to stay
Was a great cabin only thing was that one of the people I traveled up with was too big to fit in the bathroom, other than that it was all amazing
