Very clean (and I’m picky, call me crazy), easy check in and out. Didn’t need to do any housekeeping before departure which was a nice surprise. So many times you have to clean the place before you leave even though you pay a cleaning fee. Thanks and see you next time!
Our family of 6 stayed during unexpected winter storm conditions in Feb. 2025. We loved this place- surrounded by windows and snow up to window bases. Well appointed and cozy. Beds super comfy. Because of the snowstorms, we cooked dinner each night in kitchen. It had all we needed. The 4WD (and great snow shovel) is essential to a winter stay here, but we loved the proximity to Ski Cooper. We loved watching the snowfall surrounded by beautiful windows. The art on the walls was unique and fun. We would definitely come again! Excellent experience.
We have stayed here twice now with our family of six for a ski vacation at Ski Cooper. The home is cozy, comfortable and well-stocked. The convenient location to Ski Cooper can’t be beat! Hosts are responsive and easy to communicate with. We will definitely be back!
Great cabin, close to great hiking and the town of Leadville
We stayed at this cabin for 4 nights while hiking all the great trails in the Leadville area. It was the perfect location, fully stocked, comfortable beds, and lots of extras (book, games, and more). Convenient to town and all the shops, restaurants. We also drove over to Minturn one evening and it was a beautiful drive. Highly recommended!
Very nice place to stay. It has big windows. The kitchen is well-stocked with pots, pans, utensils. If it's cold out, bring your favorite slippers as the concrete floor is cold -- the host provides slippers, too. We traveled with little ones, and appreciated that there were some gates and toys for them.
Stayed with 2 friends, and were looking for a nice alternative to downtown Leadville. It's about a 10 minute drive to the downtown, and a much larger / nicer space than what you'll find in town. Great big deck for sitting outside in the pines. Internet was fast enough for 3 people working remotely at times without issue.
Master bedroom with a King off the kitchen, a bedroom with a Queen (or Full?) upstairs, and another bedroom upstairs with a Queen (?) and then a Full/Single bunk bed. One bathroom in the master downstairs, one between the two bedrooms upstairs.
Communication with the hosts was fantastic, we didn't really need much but the couple messages we sent were answered really quickly.
A couple of small quirks, which I'll admit aren't all that much of a negative for us - the only TV was in the master bedroom, the "large" refrigerator / freezer is in the master bedroom as well, but there are two smaller fridges in the kitchen. And, we were there in summer and most windows didn't have screens.
All said and done though, we loved it, and we'd go back
Cozy Cabin - comfy beds - needs better heating/electrical work
We had a good time staying here, and would come back again after some minor improvements. Some notes for those considering this place:
Pros:
- very close drive to Ski Cooper
- Big Kitchen with plenty of cookware/plates
- New appliances
- Hot water didn't run out, despite 5-6 people's use each night
- cement floors are pretty cold, but host provided slippers which were nice
- easy checkout process (although we tried to leave the place the same way it was when we checked in)
Cons:
- Downstair rooms get fairly chilly if you are staying over the winter (the cabin doesn't have central air heating system). A space heater and fireplace is absolutely required to keep warm in addition to the in room wall heaters.
- Asked host about why circuit breaker would blow for kitchen and bedroom if microwave was turned on, but didn't get a response or acknowledgement. We had to reset the circuit breaker about twice a day throughout our stay (you can't have a space heater running at the same time as the bathroom fan or else circuit breaker will blow)
- Only one TV in the whole cabin (which was in the master bedroom), so family movie night may be tough if bringing kids
- The entry walkway (about 25-30 steps up small hill) was very dark when we checked in (solar pathway lights were not working due to the overcast day). Be very careful if you are checking in after dusk, especially under snowy/icy conditions w/ heavy luggage. Host may consider applying salt to steps to prevent slips.
