We had a great stay in this house. You could tell that this place is someone’s home.
There was nothing we could’ve asked for. Especially the kitchen is well-equipped.
Marge was a wonderful host, she gave us information on places to see and do. The home was exactly as described, and a great location. Check in was easy and home had everything we needed. If you are looking for a place near the Outer Banks and Virginia this is a great place. We traveled out to both places with no problems. We have used VRBO several times a year and Marge was the best host we've had. I would highly recommend this home.
Marge's home was a terrific spot for a family get-away. The house was spotlessly clean and comfortably furnished. We had more than enough space indoors for three adults and two little children, and the outdoor spaces were well-maintained and inviting. Marge's entire neighborhood is cheerful and we enjoyed spending time at home after long days on the Outer Banks. Marge offered lots of information on activities nearby and farther afield, and communicating with her was a breeze. We can definitely recommend staying here!
Amazing home in a beautiful location. Clean and the homeowner is very pleasant and caring. Would recommend anyone looking to visit the outer banks to stay here away from all the crazy tourist traffic...

About the host

I am a school teacher, working part time. I love to travel, and when I travel I rent my home. My home is a reflection of all of my travels and I believe that I have created a place of beauty, peace and comfort. My prayer is that all who stay at 114 Doxey Creek Road will find rest and create happy memories with family and friends.
Why they chose this property
I am 25 minutes from the Wright Brothers Bridge at Kitty Hawk OBX. You can enjoy all that the Outer Banks has to offer. (too numerous to mention- I keep a. basket of brochures and magazines showcasing all of the activities available in the Outer Banks.
I am also within a 45 minute drive from Norfolk and Virginia Beach, both with many fun things to offer.
Norfolk is home to: the Chrysler Museum of Art, https://chrysler.org/ the Virginia Aquarium, https://www.virginiaaquarium.com/ Botanical Gardens. https://norfolkbotanicalgarden.org/ The USS Wisconsin, a retired battleship, is open for tours and has a maritime museum. https://nauticus.org/ The American Rover Schooner where you can assist the captain with sailing the ship https://www.americanrover.com/
Or enjoy Virginia Beach, her boardwalk and eateries.
What makes this property unique
My home is in a quiet, safe neighborhood. Bell's Island, just a mile or so away, has a campground with a boat launch, picnic and crabbing area. Just 4 miles away is the Currituck Community Park. There is a large play area with several swinging / climbing apparatus for children, and a skateboard half-pipe area. It is very safe to ride bikes in my neighborhood and at the YMCA complex.
