About this property

Altitude Adjustment is located at the very top of Sugar Mountain in the luxurious SugarTop resort at 5200 feet. You will have this entire 2BR unit to yourself. It is a recently renovated, top-floor unit with absolutely breath-taking views of Sugar, Beech, and Grandfather mountains from your very own private balcony on the 10th floor.

This unit is fully equipped with a full kitchen (oven, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, cookware, dinnerware, silverware/utensils, etc.). Sit back and relax watching the 65 inch TV from either the leather sofa or loveseat in the living room, or lie down on the king size bed in the master bedroom with a 50 inch TV (Roku enabled for all of your streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Max, Disney+, ESPN, Youtube, etc.)

The property has an indoor heated pool, 2 hot tubs, sauna, steam room, a workout facility, showers, pantry for those items you forgot or just don't want to go down off the mountain to get like drinks, snacks, bread, eggs, milk, etc. The resort also has a bar that is open on the weekends.

If your interests are skiing or mountain biking, it's just a short walk or bus ride to Sugar Mountain Ski Resort. If you have already purchased a lift ticket, you can walk to the Oma's Meadow (blue run) slope and enter there. Then use the lifts to take you back up the mountain. If you're more of the beginner pace, that's alright too! Sugar Ski resort provides buses free of charge during peak season that run continuously throughout the day to take you to/from the ski slopes. You can rent all your gear at Sugar Ski such as skis, boards, boots, helmets, goggles, clothing, etc.

The communities of Banner Elk (5 min), Beech Mountain (20 min), and Boone (30 min) are just minutes away with loads of one-of-a-kind restaurants and activities for everyone.

Beyond expectations

This unit is great! I’ve stayed at numerous properties with VRBO and this is by far the one with all expectations met and then-some. More than ample supplies, kitchen equipment, new large appliances and awesome entertainment options. Our host was on top of check in and check out and luckily we had no reason to contact him during our stay.

Skiing with a view

Our first time to sugar mountain and we loved it! Great view of the mountain, unless the clouds rolled in. Cute towns nearby with beautiful hiking trails. Only downside is, with all the slushy ice, we couldn’t wash our clothes. Owner was very accommodating in sending extra towels for all of us though! Very prompt responses to our questions.

The view from the 10th floor is amazing, you can see for miles and miles. The host was easy to deal with and the place is roomy and nice.

I took on this property purely as an investment opportunity. It is my first and only attempt at doing so. I live relatively close to the unit, and actively manage this property with my wife in our spare time.

Why they chose this property

My wife and I just purchased this property in July of 2022. Several luxury updates were made throughout the unit to make it current such as all new floors, living room furniture, beds, TVs, appliances, cabinets, countertops, new linens, towels, etc.

Perhaps the most majestic thing about this unit is the views from the balcony. This unit is on the 10th floor which is the very top of SugarTop resort. You can see for miles in each direction on a clear day.

This unit directly overlooks the Sugar Mountain ski slopes. You can actually walk to the blue slopes (Oma's Meadow) if you have a lift pass already. Ski on to the slope and just catch the lift back up to the very top. Do this until you are tired, and then at the end of the day catch the resort shuttle back to the front entrance to save the walk back.

Once you get your fill of Sugar Mountain, head on over to Beech Mountain which is just 20 minutes away. There you have even more skiing and mountain biking to take advantage of in addition to miniature golf, disc golf, ice skating, and more.

What makes this property unique

This unit is in the prestigious Citadel wing of SugarTop resort. This wing is the newest of all units in the building. Our unit is on the very top facing the slopes. On a clear day, you can see layer upon layer of mountains for miles.

This unit has a digital keypad for keyless entry.

SugarTop resort has an indoor heated pool, 2 jacuzzi/whirlpool hot tubs, sauna, steam room, and workout facility / gym.

SugarTop resort is gated, and has 24 hour security.
