The Sandcastle is a completely updated beachfront home that has been owned by a single family for over 40 years, and is now available for renters too! The Sandcastle is located on some of the most prized beachfront property on the entire island, featuring some of the BEST FISHING, SHELLING, AND SUNSET-WATCHING in southwest Florida. Step outside your door and walk ten feet of white sandy beach to the water. This location is so private that you may go an entire day without seeing anyone else on your beach. Enjoy the pristine waters and exceptional fishing, all to yourself!

The house was designed to take full advantage of the beautiful beachfront location. A huge sundeck expands the length of the home, and is ideal for enjoying your morning coffee while watching schools of breaching dolphin, meandering manatees, and osprey diving to catch fish. The beautiful custom kitchen features an open design and is fully equipped, including plenty of dishes and equipment to make and enjoy homemade dinners. The living room features a pull-out queen sofa bed, and a huge flat screen TV with satellite and DVD player. The master bedroom features an unbelievably comfortable king-size bed, full bathroom, flat screen TV, and dresser. The second bedroom has two twin beds, perfect for the kids, with a flat screen TV and dresser. We also have baby items like a Pack n' Play, highchair, and toys. There are two full bathrooms with all-new linens. The decor is playful, modern and cozy, perfect to make you feel at home during your beach vacation. If you need something we don't have, a simple call to the property manager will fix that!

Beautiful North Captiva Island (also called Upper Captiva), is one of Florida's best-kept vacation secrets! The island remains COMPLETELY NATURAL, without paved roads, cars, or crowds of tourists. Our island's sandy roads are traveled by bicycle and golf cart, and North Captiva can only be reached by boat or private aircraft. Our property manager will help you arrange transportation (including a water taxi from the mainland), groceries, and how to fully enjoy the island. There are three restaurants and two gift boutiques on island. Kayaks, paddleboards, and watercraft are available for rent, and fishing expeditions can be arranged for full or half day adventures! A golf cart can also be rented for your time on the island through us, but is not included with the rental. The secluded island is not for everyone - only for those who desire a natural getaway with time to relax. Almost half of the island is dedicated to a state nature preserve. Nearly four miles of white sand beaches await you, without the hustle and bustle of many other vacation destinations. We hold a deep respect for natural beauty and wildlife of the island - this is truly one of the few places on the planet where the delicate balance between man and nature has withstood the test of time. We would love to share this unique place with you.

What a Beautiful Place!
We absolutely loved our stay at this home. We enjoyed coffee and a dolphin show every morning, a beautiful beach and so much privacy. The house was so pretty, clean and updated. We were very comfortable there and can't wait to go back!

Captivated, we will be back!
Just got home last night from a one week stay at the Sandcastle and without a doubt the most relaxing vacation I’ve had in 40 years. When you remove cars from the equation, you remove a lot of stress. Everyone’s tooling around on their golf cart or riding a bicycle or strolling down the sandy roads, greeting each other with a happy new year or good morning. Definitely a shared community experience! The beaches were amazing Especially towards the south end. I felt like I was Gilligan in Gilligans Island again, loved that show! Michael was the best and when I go back my first preference is the Sandcastle, the view off the deck and the water is so close you could almost jump off the deck into the water.Thanks again for everything Michael! Honeymoon in the Sandcastle
From the moment we booked the house for our stay, Michael was extremely communicative and informative with recommendations as first time visitors of North Captiva. He helped us navigate each mode of transportation as well as loading/unloading groceries in what ended up being the pouring rain. Not only was he very professional, he was very personable, assuring our stay was the best it could be. The house and the view were everything we could’ve hoped for and more. We were able to enjoy our honeymoon in this up to date house overlooking the most beautiful, nature-filled waters with the shell-filled beach. Thank you!

Great Beach Trip

Great family trip
This is the second time we have stayed here and we are looking forward to going back in the future. Home is perfect and location is wonderful right on the beach. Views and sea life are amazing. Island is fun too and our kids enjoyed it. This was a fun family trip and I would recommend people check out the Sandcastle it’s a great place.

Location, Location, Location!!!
If you want to be on an island, with only golf carts allowed and a beautiful ocean outside your door with amazing views, this is the place! We took our 4 kids for a week long family vacation and we had an amazing time. Michael was amazing to work with. Connected us with airport and water taxi services and picked us up at the dock. Took a guided half-day fishing trip and got some great snapper and trout. Can’t wait to go back!

We had an amazing time here! Michael and his wife met us at the dock and helped bring al our luggage back to the house. We had used the local grocery delivery service (north captiva groceries) recommended by Michael and everything was unpacked in the kitchen when we walked in. The house was perfect, amazing views, very comfortable, clean. Beautiful sunsets from the porch, private beach, manatees, dolphins etc. the kids had an amazing time. We rented a golf cart from Michael and we highly recommend that. The island was awesome to explore and we can’t wait to come back! The house is well equipped with beach chairs, beach toys for the kids, lounge chairs etc. this property will not disappoint!

Beautiful Beachfront
We loved our time at The Sandcastle. We had a beautiful private beachfront where we saw dolphins, stingrays, and swam with manatees daily. The home was well stocked as described. We were able to kick back and enjoy the salt water and sunshine with our kiddos. Thanks for a great stay Mike and Jessica!

Sandcastle North Captiva
The property is honestly even nicer than the pictures. We stayed ten days and mostly did not leave the house. There was lots of wildlife to watch, beautiful sunsets, peace and tranquility. Will miss the manatee, osprey, dolphin, and the multitude of bird and fish that could be seen from the large elevated porch.

Wonderful first time at North Captiva!
The house is perfectly situated so you have the most majestic views of both the sunrise over the water and the sunset into the water! My kids loved every second and we are already hoping to go back again! Loved it!! Homeowners were great every step of the way! Made it as easy as possible!

We stayed here for our honeymoon this past week and WOW. Location is amazing. So romantic and homey feeling. Michael and his wife went above and beyond to make our honeymoon special. You don’t need to leave the country to be in paradise, stay at The Sandcastle!! 10/10 recommend.

Paradise!!
This was my family's first time to North Captiva and we fell in love instantly! The house is picture perfect and the island is stunning! It is very lush with palm trees and flowers everywhere!! Michael was an amazing host and answered all of our questions before and during our trip. He met us at the harbor upon arrival and even told us the history of the house and other aspects of the island. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! This house is the best on the island! The privacy was perfect! We would maybe see a few people walk by during the day. Other days, we wouldn't see a soul. The house is beautifully decorated and had all the essentials.We are a family of 4 adults and the house was spacious for us all! We saw dolphins and manatees daily from the deck! There are so many amazing birds as well! The house sits so close to the water, when looking out the windows, you felt as if you were in the water! If looking for a secluded, low key, relaxing vacation, this house fits the bill! We are already planning our next trip back to this house!

This week could not have been better. Michael is great to work with and the property is perfect. Everything was clean and worked great. The advice Michael gave us on transportation and food worked out perfectly. We fished all week in front of the house and rented a boat from Boats and Fun for a great day on the water. We will be back.

Amazing vacation!

Excellent experience at a great location
The Sandcastle was a fantastic experience on North Captiva Island. Michael was an outstanding property manager who made sure we were well taking care of during our stay. The house was in a perfect spot with a great beach for rest and relaxation. Many properties you stay at require a long walking trip to set up your beach day. Not at this location - it was so convenient and relaxing. All aspects of the home were set up just the right way to make you feel extremely comfortable. We would definitely recommend as long as you don’t book it during our week!

Sandcastle is located on a lovely stretch of beach, with great deck space for viewing sunsets, sunrises, and another island in the distance. Michael was friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. House was equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. Grocery ordering and delivery is worth the money. Looking forward to return visit!

A Slice of Heaven
We loved our stay at the Sandcastle! Michael is a fantastic property manager who promptly responded to our every need. The house is RIGHT on the water (sometimes OVER the water). We watched lots of wildlife from our deck and on the beach and enjoyed the peace and quiet of being on the north end of the island. A perfect place to unplug!

Relaxing vacation in a quiet and beautiful location
The property's location is perfect. We loved to open the two sliding doors in the living room and listen to the ocean whenever we were in the house. We got to see dolphins and many of the island birds from the deck every day of our stay. While paddle boarding on the second day we saw our hosts Michael and Jessica returning from a successful fishing trip and they offered some of the catch to us. The fish was delicious, and we really appreciated them going the extra mile to deliver two perfectly cleaned fillets to the house and text us recommendations if how to cook them. Overall, the island is beautiful, the people were friendly, and the house what exactly what we wanted, making for an outstanding vacation.

Our family has owned homes on North Captiva Island since the 1980s, when only a few homes were on the island and we had no power. FOUR generations of our family have grown up in this tropical paradise. We feel very spoiled to have enjoyed this pristine island without throngs of tourists or cars, and we are happy to share it with new visitors!

The Sandcastle has been in our family for decades. The home is located on some of the most prized property on the entire island - a wide beach, romantic sunset views, and very productive fishing are right outside the front door!

What makes this property unique

The best benefit of the Sandcastle is its privacy and views! This island is for those who can enjoy true relaxation - fishing, shelling, wildlife viewing (including porpoise, manatees, loggerhead turtles, and seabirds), bicycling, sunning, and exploring the island's wildlife preserve.
