Disappointing Experience
Dish washer and internet were not working. Dish washer was eventually fixed. Host offered to book XFinity when WE could meet them. We responded that she would have to make arrangements to meet them. Previous guest had internet issues as well. Why was this not fixed prior to check in?
Host booked XFinity for 7/19. We checked in 6/30. Had to rent an office in order to have internet. Host issued a discount but it did not cover our expense.
The AC went out and we had to check into a hotel for 3 nights. The host refunded 2 nights. Repair took place the afternoon of day 3 and we were told by host that home would be cooled down by the evening. Temperatures were triple digits and we could not have been in the house that day. it was 84 degrees inside at 6:30 that morning. This is a 4200 foot home with one AC unit.
Host decided to book XFinity repair for the day that we checked back in. Too little too late as we had already rented office space. We wanted to settle back in after 3 days gone and asked for her to do repair after we checked out. She committed to me that she would cancel repair then immediately went to my husband to tell him that she would not be cancelling repair appointment. At this point we felt that we had no choice but to make a claim with VRBO. They spoke with her and appointment was cancelled.
We will never be made whole for this but those who book moving forward should know that this home is well worn, not well maintained and on a busy street.
