About this property
AIYM Camp Riverfront Cabin #1. In the Rio Grande National Forest, Alamosa Canyon
Stay in one of our newly refurbished cabins located in the Rio Grande National Forest, just 4 miles west of Terrace Reservoir in the Alamosa Canyon. 4 individual cabins with 8 built in twin bunk beds and 1 Duplex cabin with 12 built in twin bunk beds. Each cabin is furnished with mattress pads, sheets, blanket, comforter and pillow. There is a bathhouse (includes 4 toilets, 3 sinks and 4 showers), approximately 75 yards from the cabins. The Alamosa River runs through the AIYM Camp property, where the cabins are located. The camp is in a wilderness setting with electricity supplied by a diesel generator that operates from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. No cell service in the canyon but the camp does have a regular phone for special usage and satellite Wi-Fi for $10 per person. The most unique quality is the beauty and cleanliness of the forest. The quiet peaceful atmosphere of the canyon is hard to believe. This is the perfect place for families to unplug, get outside but still have some of the comforts we all enjoy!

Hi there & Welcome! We are Jim & Melony, we live much of the year in West Texas and volunteer as directors of the the Non-profit AIYM High Adventure Camp in southern Colorado. For 37 years we have lead approx. 10,000 folks on wilderness adventures in Texas, New Mexico, Wyoming and Alaska. Since 2008 we have either lead or participated in a number of Christian mission teams serving in Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Texas and Colorado. Eleven years ago we took over operating the AIYM Camp. Thousands upon thousands of volunteer hours have been poured into the camp along hundreds of thousands of donor dollars. The camp is newly remodeled, clean and ready to serve families looking for the perfect base camp while recreating in the 1.8 million acre Rio Grande National Park!
