Sunyata Cabin
The cabin was beautiful, quiet, and peaceful about 25 minutes from town. Must use a 4-wheel drive to get up driveway! And don’t forget your linens! Mouse droppings were all on the kitchen counter and in drawers. Owner said they do the best they can. ? Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

COULDN'T MAKE IT UP THE ROAD TO THE PROPERTY
First off, let me say I can't say anything negative about the home itself because I never made it up the hill to the house. I have no doubt the pictures.epresent it well, and I'm sure it's wonderful. I also want to say the hosts responded quickly and I believe they think they have given guests a fair heads up about the road to the property. I just want to say that I live in northern Utah where all our vehicles are 4 WD out of necessity. I live on a hill (not like theirs, to be fair), and am used to needing to be an aggressive driver in 4WD to make it through the ice and snow. I wish I had taken video of the road. I did rent an AWD vehicle and had it in low, and even backed back down and tried the hill/curve that stopped us three times before I just decided there was no way the vehicle was going to make it. So it was greatly disappointing and frustrating to lose several hundred dollars and never even see the house (that includes a significant cleaning fee that they neither needed to pay someone nor even bother to make the drive out for because I messaged them as soon as we couldn't get up the road). I don't necessarily expect a rental refund, because we did prevent the rental of their property, but I feel like a refund of the cleaning fee would have been decent and fair customer service since I did rent an AWD vehicle as recommended and drove aggressively and according to their directions and the AWD just couldn't do it.

Beautiful and private
The cabin was quaint and the property was beautiful. A bit of a mouse problem in the cabin but not unusual for a property in the country. Overall a very pleasant experience!

Very Remote
If you want to be off the grid this is definitely the place to go to. The property outside was well-maintained, had there not been rain I would have loved to been in the yard playing with my son. Inside was very dusty and dirty. I grew up in the country and get there will be bugs. That is not what I'm referring to. There was layers of dust on the walls above vents and just in general dirt everywhere. Also, I had to throw out an entire pan of mac & cheese because the pan's teflon came off in it.

We love our cabin and we love the mountains even more! If you are looking for a place to truly unplug and relax without the noise of our modern world, this IS the place for you. It has provided us with countless wonderful memories of being in nature and enjoying the healing benefit it provides.
The cabin was built in the early 1900's, and Moonshine was made here by a man named Sam Cabe. Mr. Cabe was also a revenuer and quite a character. You can learn more about the history of moonshine in Wilkes County at the Copper Barrel in North Wilkesboro. This area of town also provides a few wonderful antique shops that also gives the seeker more information about how the people in the area of Wilkes county have lived through the generations.
Additions of a stone fireplace, loft, bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom were gradually added through the years, but the original one-room cabin and 100 - year old logs are still exposed. This will give you that cozy cabin feeling that everyone loves.
This cabin is a unique place and one that you will always remember.
