Enjoy all that the Olympic Peninsula has to offer while relishing in the privacy and open space of this tranquil homestead. A sizeable, custom-built-log-cabin home sits amidst acres of open fields. Whether coming to stay for a work retreat or a family getaway, you can rest assured that this space is equipped to accommodate your needs during your stay.

With Star-link high-speed internet access, this space can accommodate working remotely while enjoying tranquility. On clear days, you can cook in a fully equipped kitchen and enjoy meals while gazing upon Mt. Angeles and the Olympic Mountains through the kitchen window. Rest amidst beautiful flower gardens and several small orchards. Gaze at the stars at night and potentially get a glimpse of the Milky Way. Within short driving distances are multiple access points to the Strait of Juan de Fuca for kayaking, surfing, or walks along the beach. With Forks, Washington and Pacific Ocean access within a scenic 1.5-hour drive, daytrips to the coast are available at your discretion while still making it home for dinner. Drive up to Hurricane Ridge all year round to enjoy summer hiking through the mountains or winter skiing, sledding, and snowshoeing. Take the Black Ball Ferry Line aboard the M.V. Coho to Victoria, BC for a scenic journey across the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Enjoy the small town feel of Port Angeles with multiple coffee shops, local restaurants, waterfront shopping, and the local Saturday farmer's market. Ride along the Olympic Discovery Trail into Port Angeles and bike along Ediz Hook for unparalleled views of the port and the mountains. All these experiences and more are easily accessible while enjoying the privacy and comfort of Homestead Tranquility.

For your safety, and the security of the property, there are 5 security cameras present on the outside of the house covering the areas immediately surrounding the house and driveway. There is one security camera on the power pole facing down the driveway as you drive up towards the house. One security camera is just outside of the front door to the right if you are exiting the house and faces the front towards the front walkways. Another security camera is out past the parking spaces in the garage port, and faces the driveway, front-door and other property buildings. There are two security cameras that are just outside the kitchen window, split on that corner of the house. One security camera faces the pond and the flower gardens around it, and the other faces along the backside of the house.

As this is a farm, there will likely be ongoing farm operations occurring during your stay with the host, family members of the host, and/or employees accessing and staying on the property. However, the house is available solely for the use of you and guests in your party during your stay. No one will enter the house unless there is a maintenance or a hospitality issue, should any arise.

Beautiful haven

The property was beautiful. It was great for kids to hike around and explore, ride bikes and great access to nearby lakes, hiking, town and the ferry. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with needed basic cooking supplies, coffee pot.

Great Place

Beautiful log cabin out in the country. Luscious scenery, trees and incredible flowers. Definitely would stay again! The only one issue was the refrigerator needed cleaning but not a deal breaker.

Relaxing place

It was nice but we were so busy just sleep and go everyday. Kitchen utensils needs to be upgraded. Microwave smells terrible so we gave up to use it. Nice garden though. Laundry room has mouse traps visual makes me feel very uncomfortable.

Quiet and relaxing

This home was well appointed with all the kitchen equipment we needed, comfy beds, an outstanding music selection and peaceful surroundings. The host was quite responsive but not intrusive. This is high on our list for a return stay.

Wonderful hideaway!

We enjoyed our stay at this unique and beautiful property. It was so peaceful and full of nature. Flowers all over and trails to explore. It was also a comfy homey place which we like. The location was perfect near Port Angeles and with access to Hurricane Ridge. We would stay here again.

Cabin stay

Place was nicer than the pictures showed. Only minor thing i would nit pick at is it looked like the people from a previous stay left somet sugar or honey in the cuppord and it attracted a couple ants but thats super minor and this place and property was amazing for local day hikes on the property as well as close to cresant lake and port angeles, was fantastic

Peaceful Place

We stayed here for a short weekend trip and had a great time! It’s a short drive to Salt Creek Recreation Area and Devil’s Punchbowl, as well as Port Angeles waterfront/restaurants. If you’re looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay, this is it. The house is not fancy, but the kitchen is stocked for cooking, the beds are comfy, and there are plenty of books and board games. Much to my kids’ dismay, there’s no TV, but they learned how to play monopoly and go fish. They were relived to find that the WiFi works well. :) The property is awesome with trails and wildlife (we were greeted by a deer our first day). The owner is super nice and provided lots of tips for restaurants and sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again!

Comfortable, Relaxing

Our weekend here was quite relaxing, largely due to this rental. The house is remote, sitting on a large piece of property, allowing plenty of room to explore the surrounding woods and fields. And this house is clean, very clean, a quality that is important when staying at a rental. It was also well stocked with everything we needed. The owner, Zach, is quick to respond to questions and requests. All instructions and directions were clear and helpful. All in all, a great weekend.

Beautiful cabin and grounds!

This cabin has a history as a family home, and it exudes the pride that the host takes in preserving its beauty and charm. Everything is clean and thoughtfully arranged, down to folded towels waiting on the beds. The exterior and bedroom walls are beautiful wood, with wonderfully carved animal pieces decorating the front porch. The living room and kitchen are open spaces with beautifully polished tree trunk tables with beautiful, fresh flowers. Beds are comfy and spacious with very comfortable pillows and bedding. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of cooking utensils. The furniture maintains that cabin charm where not everything matches, yet everything fits. Large windows look out onto an artfully decorated and maintained property, complete with a flower garden and a small lily pad pond. Trails extend behind the rental for a calming walk through forest, ferns, and mossy trees. An adjacent, maintained field is perfect for picnic or play. The cabin is perfect as either a peaceful weekend getaway or a restful place amidst adventures to nearby forests and waterfronts. At night, the Milky Way is easily visible. We and our friends want to return just to stay at the property. This is a wonderful cozy retreat. Thanks for having us.

This was a wonderful place to stay. I brought my adoptive daughter, who was visiting from Spain, here for her graduation gift. She was so happy and amazed to be staying here. Lovely landscapes and views over the surrounding fruit trees, pines, and gardens. It was if the family had just moved out; wonderfully stocked with anything we might have needed or forgotten; there were several books about all the local hiking and walking possibilites, books on gardening and plants, and information on local sites. The beds were amazingly comfortable; with warm comforters and plenty of light to read by. Everything worked. There was art on the walls and an endless choice of music. Build by his grandparents, family history is evident everywhere and the painting over the fireplace depicts those first days. The owner continues to work on the property to restore the grounds and continue horticulture with a new direction. Port Angeles is close and the Tai food we had great. Zach, the owner lives in the area, he is quick to reply, provides answers to all inquires, helps if anything is needed and I enjoy my communication with him. Here you are home, kids are safe from roads and strangers and returning after a long day is a pleasure. I recommend this restorative and lovely place; it is truly special.

Eugene and Martha pioneered into Port Angeles in the 1960's from California. Eventually, they purchased land West of Port Angeles that had been freshly logged and began nursing the land back to health. They built a log cabin style home, raised 4 children, had cows and other farm animals, and raised trees for lumber. Our grandmother Martha built beautiful flower gardens that encompassed the house, and still grace the land with their presence. Although my grandmother has since passed, the work she has done during her life, along with my grandfather's, continue to nurture their children and grandchildren to this day. My grandmother's nickname for the farm was tranquility, and in her honor, we have decided to name the farm Tranquility Farms.

Ensuring a rural farm is up to snuff and running smoothly takes a lot of time and commitment. From the time my grandparents took over the land, they worked, and their children worked, and when their grandchildren, my siblings and cousins visited, we worked too. As the farm has passed down through the family, the desire to farm has been reignited.

My name is Zachary, and I am one of the Grandchildren of Eugene and Martha. I have a background in science, medicine and psychology. I am on the path towards practicing medicine, but am taking the time to explore more natural paths towards maintaining optimal health through lifestyle changes, diet, and medicines that occur naturally. In order to do this, I believe it is time to study the land, produce our own food, and implement science and innovation to farming practices. While work for guests is not required at Tranquility Farms, you may see myself or one of my family members working on the farm during your stay, and you might catch a glimpse of our grandfather, Eugene himself if you are lucky! We hope you enjoy your stay at Tranquility Farms!

Why they chose this property

Homestead Tranquility is a perfect basecamp for exploring all that the Olympic Peninsula has to offer. The property is 15 minutes from Downtown Port Angeles, 7 minutes from the nearest beach and 22 minutes from the Heart of the Hill's Ranger Station, entrance to the Olympic National Park. With quick access to the scenic bi-way, Highway 101, there is a plethora of site seeing and recreational opportunities to choose from. Going west on hwy 101, one immediately encounters Lake Crescent, after which there are multiple places directions one can go. There are multiple points of access to Pacific Ocean beaches as one continues down hwy 101 past Forks, Washington. The Hoh Rainforest, Neah Bay, and Lake Ozette are all within the possibilities of day trips, taking around an hour and a half to reach from Homestead Tranquility. Heading East on hwy 101 are the cities of Sequim, Port Townsend, and further out, Bainbridge Island. There are multiple routes to get to and from the cities that are around the Puget Sound like Seattle and Tacoma, some with direct ferry access. Just across the Strait of Juan de Fuca from Port Angeles is Victoria, BC. Whatever your destination is out on the Olympic Peninsula, Tranquility Farms and Homestead Tranquility provide a serene base of operations to adventure out from.

What makes this property unique

Homestead Tranquility sits among acres of trails built by our father and grandfather, Eugene. The Kitchen at Homestead Tranquility was designed by our mother and grandmother, Martha, who was a chemist by education and enjoyed cooking greatly. For guests who enjoy cooking and baking, the kitchen comes fully equipped to accommodate most any recipe that is thrown at it. Outside of the kitchen window is a private view of the Olympic Mountains, and Mt. Angeles that can be enjoyed on clear days. On foggy days, experience the feeling of being encapsulated in a blanket of fog amidst trees and gardens. Each season brings uniqueness to the surrounding scenery at Tranquility Farms to accompany you whenever you choose to visit!
