Comfortable 3BR, 2BA lakefront home in private, gated community is large enough for family vacations, and close enough for weekend getaways from Washington, DC. Master BR has queen bed, bathroom, walk-in closet and lake view. 2nd BR has a queen and a twin bed and lake view. 3rd BR has 2 sets of bunk beds. Family/media room has queen sleeper sofa. House sleeps 11 comfortably.

Large, high ceilinged, open living/dining/kitchen space has panoramic view of lake, and is great for sharing with family and friends. Wood burning fireplace for those cool fall or winter getaways. Living room opens onto large screened-in porch.

Private dock on deep cove in quiet, no-wake zone is just steps away. Good swimming and fishing in the cove. The canoe, kayak and fishing gear are available for guest use. Family Reunion

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. So much to do outside between the kayaks, canoe, tubes and fishing. It’s very quiet and peaceful.

Relaxing lake experience.

Really enjoyed our stay. Home is older, but very comfortable and very well stocked with everything you would need. Loved the huge screrned in porch. Enjoyed swimming from the dock and caught 2 large bass and catfish. Enjoyed the kayaks and canoe. Dinner was very good at the clubhouse, and visited Fredericksburg for dinner. Also, Monday night is pizza night at the local Old House Vineyard in nearby Culpepper. All in all we really enjoyed our stay.

Great Family Fun

The process to check in was a little wonky. I've never had to show an ID for a VRBO before. However the house was great. We had a lot of fun. There were more than enough dishes & supplies to cook all week and stay in enjoying all that the area has to offer.

Lovely Stay

We had the pleasure of staying at this property for a family reunion and had such a wonderful time. The house had everything we could have needed! The screened in porch was spacious and comfortable, the dock was in excellent condition and steps from the back door, and the views were incredible! We had an age range of 5 to 75, and it was a hit with everyone! We would love to stay here again and would highly recommend.

Beautiful lakeside setting. Comfortable house, plenty of water toys, fishing off dock, swimming off dock - everything needed for making memories. House is well laid out and comfortable. LOW amenities add to the experience.

Great vacation house

We wanted somewhere to relax and have some down time. The house was very clean and well stocked. We spent our days on the dock and swimming in the lake. We would definitely rent this house again. Even though it was just two of us I can definitely see renting the house for a group vacation.

Perfect Vacation

We love this place. It’s the perfect amount of space. The screened in porch is our favorite place to hang out, outside the lake. Nice quiet cove to float in ALL day. This was our 3rd time here and we hope to have many more!!

July at Lake of the Woods

We had stayed here before and loved it enough to return. The proximity to the lake is stellar and the house itself is comfortable and clean. We used the TV once... to watch the Women's World Cup Final but the rest of the time was enjoying the lake. The cove is small but feels far less crowded than it is. We made a number of day trips to various locations in VA (Monticello, UVA, Montpelier, Luray Caverns, etc) and had a wonderful place to come home to for each. We eagerly anticipate another return trip.

Family Gathering - Wedding

We were visiting Lake of the Woods for a family wedding. What a wondering community and setting! This is a great house, very clean, and nicely provisioned. Its on a cove, so out of the way of much of the boat traffic on the lake. We had a great time hanging out on the screened in porch, and swimming off the dock. The only thing that would make this house better would be a third bathroom. We had 11 people, and only 2 bathrooms was a bit challenging. Overall, wonderful stay, and would highly recommend this property for family gatherings.

Beautiful Home/Better View

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. It was well equipped with all of the basic kitchen tools etc. The linens were of nice quality. Plenty of space to spread out so guests didn't have to be on top of each other. The little office was great too. But the best part of the stay is the screened in porch which included a great dining table. The canoe was a favorite of the children and we were out in it a number of times during the day. The view out the window is just wonderful and relaxing. The management company was quick to respond and very easy to work with during our rental process. A real gem of a property.

The Perfect Lakehouse

My husband and I and our 2 kids just finished a 5 night stay at this lake house. This spot is set in a quiet cove that gets an ideal amount of afternoon sun. The deck provides plenty of space for laying out in the sun or getting together with family and friends. The house itself has a beautiful screened in porch with a great views of the lake. It has enough space available for family dinners or relaxing on a lounge reading a book. Our family enjoyed the time together on the water, golfing and spending time with our family. This is our second trip to the lake house and a special place for us. We look forward to making the trip again!

Peace and relaxation

We'll we just finished up our sixth straight summer stay here at the cove of peace and relaxation. We took full advantage of everything this lovely place had to offer. My wife and I along with our daughter and her husband and two children (4 & 9) and our son and his wife enjoyed six beautiful days of gorgeous sun rises, swimming, outdoor cookouts and billions of stars often shoot through the skies. God truly blessed this spot on a quite cove with bountiful sunshine, refreshing lake water and an inviting dock that found ourselves in deep conversations well into the early A.M. hours. The lake house is the perfect place to retreat to cook a meal, freshen up or lay your head down for a peaceful nights rest. Plenty of room for all to get together or go off into your own peaceful meditation. We will without a doubt be back for a seventh consecutive getaway.

Peaceful and relaxing time on the lake!

My wife and I spent a long weekend away from the busy streets of NYC with my family at this wonderful lake house. It was the perfect setting for what everyone sought in a weekend getaway. We enjoyed the local golf courses, peaceful setting on the lake, and lake activities (fishing, boating, tubing, and floating). The full kitchen and outdoor grill, along with plentiful seating, allowed our family to dine in while enjoying large family dinners. The home's proximity to grocery stores and shopping also provided for easy access to daily needs. I cannot say enough good things about this lake house and would recommend it to anyone seeking a lake house getaway!

From a tranquill relaxed cup of coffee on the dock first thing in the morning to a romantic glass of wine late into the peaceful evening, our wonderful stay at your beautiful lake house was more than we could possibly had hoped for. The surrounding area beckons for many attactions, activities and restaurants but we found it very hard to leave such an awesome private vacation getaway. We enjoyed our days relaxing on the sun filled dock, canoeing your beautiful lake and spending many lazy hours laying on the tubes in your very quite and relaxing cove. We found your lake home more beautiful than the pictures on your website. We definetely felt the personal love and attention that you have touched in every room of your home. We will definetly find ourselves back at this perfect vacation getaway.

Wonderful!

We rented the house for our children and grandchildren to stay in while visiting great-grandmom at the lake since her house is too small for our growing brood. We've been coming to the lake since the 1970's. The house was beautifully equipped and maintained; the owners very hospitable. The lake offers all amenities one can possibly imagine. We hope we can rent again next summer.

After moving around for many years during their naval careers, owners John and Jan settled in northern Virginia 22 years ago. They purchased this home 7 years ago, are looking forward to many years of enjoyment at Lake of the Woods, and hope to share all it has to offer with you.

Why they chose this property

Its so convenient to northern Virginia/ Washington, DC - just over an hour away, and has so much more to offer than the other lake properties we looked at. In addition to all the water related activities, there's an 18 hole golf course on site and another 45 holes within ten minutes of the community. Add in tennis, horseback riding, hiking, the clubhouse and other amenities, and almost any vacationer, young or old, can be satisfied. There are also many dining, shopping and sightseeing options nearby.

What makes this property unique

Relaxing... morning coffee on the dock... jump in the cove off the dock... grill good food... watch the cove's resident swans... canoe to the clubhouse for a good meal or beverage... 63 holes of golf to conquer... become a Civil War history buff... stroll in historic Fredericksburg... quiet afternoon in the hammock... a tennis match... fishing... a good kayaking workout
