Lovely, cozy cottage on the water. Beautiful views all day as the tide comes and goes. Comfortable furniture, quality linens and nicely stocked kitchen equipment. Perfect for one or two people who’d like to enjoy the experience of being right on Maine’s coast. Lots of lobster dinners at nearby restaurants and seafood shacks. We had a wonderful time.

An artist’s paradise
The apartment was comfy and clean. The surroundings magnificent! There was no hot tub, as advertised. A bit overpriced. But all in all, a good stay for a couple of days!
We absolutely loved our stay!! The apartment was exactly has described. It was extremely clean. Lots of space and windows to admire the ocean front view as much as possible. The bed was very comfortable and kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to cook and eat. The location can’t be beat!!!! Right on the water. Absolutely gorgeous! Easy access to Brunswick, Bath and many ocean front seafood spots. We’re already planning our trip back!
In 2016 we happened upon Hopkins View by accident on VRBO and enjoyed a very short 30th anniversary stay. So when 35 came around we knew where we wanted to return to. Unfortunately that never came to pass and the property was sold. This year after our youngest got married my husband and I wanted to get away and behold Hopkins View was back!! Only this time it was BETTER!!! The new owner had renovated the lower rental adding a private bedroom and spacious closet. I didn't think the place could get any cozier but those changes made it PERFECT! The property manager David was AMAZING!!! When I informed him out flight was delayed several times ( thank you Hurricaine Fiona) and we would be arriving in the middle of the night. He drove to the property and turned on the lights and heater so it was easy to see in the pouring rain. And honestly, it felt like coming home again!!!! The views here are INCREDIBLE. It's charm is it's location and the peacefulness that offers. The property has everything you will need to enjoy the LOBSTAH fresh outta the sea. Whenever there was a question or we needed something David was there quickly and always a pleasure to talk to. We were so very sad to leave but we will be back for sure!! Do yourself a favor. If you want peace and relaxation with people who really care about making your stay PERFECT this is the one. You can thank me later!!
Just, wow! Can't rave enough about the quaintness and charm of this delightful cottage. We loved the sunrises, lobster boats, sea birds and the amazing change in high/low tide. The cottage sits in such a peaceful setting with LOTS of windows and great view of the water wrapping around the property into a small bay/pond that drains at low tide. Amenities were plentiful. Jean was always at the ready to handle our multiple questions and changes in booking. Thanks you! You really made our vacation to Maine special! 1st rate - HIGHLY recommended.
We were a bit apprehensive as we drove through the neighborhood at arrival. However Sailors’ Rest is comfortable, clean and has everything one needs. The views are overwhelming! And the proximity to shopping, restaurants and a college campus are icing on the cake.
Sailors Rest was the most wonderful respite for my husband and I. What a glorious location! Idyllic it was! The cottage was sparkling clean, warm and inviting when we arrived in late October - just the best place to relax and unwind. The water views are stunning, from both inside (through the many windows) and the outside. For a relatively small cottage, it felt spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped which we greatly appreciated. The entire cottage was well equipped with everything we needed and more. We loved the spotting scope and binoculars provided to view water birds and other ocean wildlife. Jean was very responsive to messages and very accommodating - a wonderful host to work with. We loved our time at Sailors Rest and will definitely be back!
This was our first time in Maine as a family, and we hope to return soon! Even though the weather didn't cooperate, we enjoyed the gorgeous and tranquil scenery all the same. One of the best parts was coming home to our sweet little cabin, grilling up dinner, and having drinks and desert overlooking the water. We very much appreciated the updated appliances, and the TV was a bonus. My only suggestion would be to bring your own coffee maker if you're particular - we couldn't figure out how to brew a proper cup after being spoiled with Keurig. Thank you for a beautiful few days at the cottage!
Located near Cundy Harbor, ME, one of the oldest lobster villages in Maine the front deck is literally 20’ from the ocean at high tide. Great sunrise views. Harpswell and surrounding villages have enough to keep you busy for a week. From shopping, hacking, great restaurants, and short day trips to points South like Portland, Freeport (LL Bean), to the Northeast along the coast like Wiscaset, Boothbay Harbor and a must visit Camden, ME - the quintessential coastal Maine village. Schedule a trip to Edgecomb Pottery, one of the premier pottery shops in the national. The accolades are far to numerous to mention. Have a great stay in Harpswell.
I loved my week-long stay in Cundy's Harbor at this cozy, clean cottage on the water! Views spectacular and the cottage had all the amenities and comforts one would want. Loved it!
We have just finished a lovely week in this charming cottage. We had everything we needed here and were amazed by the beautiful setting. Jean was very responsive and helpful during the whole process. Would absolutely recommend and we definitely plan on booking again!
The property was awesome with views of the sea everywhere . We especially loved the couches and the reading lights. The gas grill worked great and we did spot seals on our last day.
The perfect spot for a getaway. It was a wonderful spot to take my husband and three kids. (Ages 4, 7 & 10). We all loved watching the boats glide in and out of the harbor. The children loved catching crabs during low tide, even the adults like that! The cottage was clean and has all the amenities one would need for a care free week away. The location is perfect for short drive into Portland, Bath and daytrips onto the smaller surrounding islands. We can't say enough great things about this camp. The owners were lovely and well accommodating. We look forward to our next visit.
We had a wonderful stay at Sailors Rest. The house is perfect with an amazing view everywhere you look. The kids enjoyed catching crabs right outside the door while we watched the seals play. The house was spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need. Joan was so helpful with answering any questions and offering suggestions on what to do in the area. I highly recommend staying here!
The location was excellent. The water is steps from the house and we enjoyed the difference between the high and low tides. Plenty of wildlife to spot and easy to do with the binoculars that was provided. We saw bald eagle and seals. The house was clean, beds comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen. The check in process and communication with the owners could not have been easier, and we enjoyed the binder full of recommendations of things to do.
The location was a perfect for exploring the area. Everything from Baileys Island, Popham Beach, Reids State Park are all within easy reach. Bath, ME and Portland are easily accessible as well.
We highly recommend staying here!
Best thing is the proximity to the water's edge. Perfect for kayackers. And easy reach of Brunswick and Bath, other peninsulas and islands nearby for beaches and restaurants. House is simple, basic. Remarkably well equipped kitchen! That is a real plus.
I couldn't have been more pleased with our time at Sailor's Rest. The views were spectacular, I even saw a bald eagle snatch a fish from the harbor. We liked how quiet and residential the neighborhood was, and falling asleep to the sound of the water was a much needed respite. Driving into Portland was straightforward for day trips, and exploring the many flavors of Harpswell couldn't have been more relaxing. Thank you for the hospitality; we'd come back in a heartbeat!
I would highly recommend staying here! It has 360 views, is a very comfortable and cozy space, and has access to lots of fun Maine activities. Best of all, if you never want to leave, you could have a very relaxing time sitting in the Adirondack chairs overlooking the water. The only thing to know is that this is lovely spot is located between two other properties. The property on one side is situated in a way that allows a lot of privacy for both sides - very little issue at all. On the other side, you are quite close to the neighbors and can hear a lot while you are sitting outside. It wasn't a big issue for us, but could be a bigger issue depending on your personal preferences.
What a fabulous home and location. Whether you want to sit in the Adirondack chairs and watch the working lobster boats and wildlife pass by... or get out in the water on a kayak and enjoy this beautiful section of coastline, this location is perfect for all ages.
Great anchor home if you want to venture out for day trips up the coast to visit other harbors and towns, then return to your own piece of paradise.
Well appointed kitchen and dining area to make dinner and exchange family stories of your day or close to many restaurants if you prefer to eat out.
The owner, Jean, is extremely responsive to any/all of your requests both prior and during your stay, if you have any.
We highly recommend this for couples or families.
The spot on the harbor was perfect for watching local fishing boats and bird life. The cottage was well appointed and comfortable with most amenities. The original art was a nice touch. Felt so far away even though it was close to Brunswick.
