Cutest cabin in the Woods
The cabin was clean and cozy, located on very beautiful lake. The weather did not cooperate alas we were unable to enjoy the water, five min from Bolton Landing and nestled among many hiking trails. We will come back and try again for better weather.Recommend hightly!

Amazing getaway
The place is little secluded from restaurants and activities but still a great quiet getaway. Lots of amenities that have been added to better the place like the kayaks and paddle boards.

nice place
Although it is set back behind the main (owner) house there is still a good view of the lake. The house is cozy but well maintained. Plenty of kayaks etc. and chairs down at the beach. We had a great time there. Also it is very close to Boltons Landing and the Algonquin Restaurant.....

Lake Getaway
We enjoyed our stay just off the beaten path, but close to all Lake George has to offer. Use of lake beach, firepit and canoe was a highlight - very relaxing. Friendly host and dogs were nice to have close by but otherwise we had plenty of quiet and privacy. Cabin has everything including an AC for occasional humid nights. Nearby Bolton Landing more upscale but charming. Thanks for a good experience.

Better than I expected
This is truly a special place to stay. Proximity to the lake is perfect. The guest house is private yet easily accessible. This is a great place for either 1 or 2 couples who love the lake life. It's super convenient to get into Bolton and Lake George, and yet you feeling like you're in your own private oasis.

Excellent get away,
My husband and I rented this small cabin on recommendation from our daughter. She was right! Clean, cozy, dock, all needed amenities were available. Beautiful setting away from the hustle and bustle of the town which was only a short drive away. Our host was very responsive to any questions we had. Would definitely stay again.

Great Week
This was our 3rd stay here and most certainly wont be our last. The addition of the washer and dryer was a more than pleasant surprise as was the air conditioner which fortunately for us went unused. Great weather, comfortable cabin (guest house), nearby hiking trails, fun stores 5 minutes away and kisses from Flynn the Lab....what could be better.

Great place to unwind and relax
My husband and I are just home after a wonderful week on Trout Lake. The owners always seem to think of what would make the experience that much better. We really appreciated the addition of the AC since it was in the 90's and didn't even mind the thunderstorms! We're already looking forward to a 3rd annual trip.in 2024.

Cozy Cabin in the Adirondacks
My girlfriend and I stayed at this property for 5 nights in mid October to enjoy the autumn foliage and it was absolutely beautiful. The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. This place is truly cozy ! It is on the property of the owner’s house, however we felt very private and it was nice to be greeted by their 2 friendly labradors. Being situated on trout lake was amazing as we could sit and enjoy the fire pit by the water or utilize any of the available watercraft. If you’re ever looking for a cozy and quiet Adirondack getaway with your loved one definitely consider this place.

Relaxing at the Lake
We just spent an amazing week on the lake as a family, with two children ages nine and sixteen. The house was very clean and well appointed. The owners were very accommodating and friendly without feeling like they were on top of us. The house had everything you would need and was very organized. The house is cozy, perfect for a small family. We did bring an air mattress which we did use and it fit in the living room well. The lake access was just perfect. The owners have a little shed with all things lake related. There were life jackets, floats, and kindling for the fire pit. There were a variety of kayaks and stand up paddle boards for our use and there was plenty of seating at the lake. They really thought of everything! As teachers, this relaxing week was just what we needed to recharge before the hustle and bustle of a new school year.

Relaxing
We had a relaxing stay at this cozy cabin on a lake! We had a view of the lake from our deck - the deck had a table with umbrella, several adirondack chairs, and a gas grill. We had our own path down to beach like area on the lake which had lounge chairs, adirondack chairs a fire pit and a canoe, paddleboat, paddleboards. and kayaks for us to use! We really enjoyed our time at this cabin!

This was a great little place for my family of 4. We loved that it was so close to lake George, the fall foliage, the availability of the "water toys" to use on the lake, the view, and the kids loved the dogs on the property.booking, checking in and checking out was as easy as it can get. The only downside was that the Internet didn't quite reach the cabin from the main house and it smelled a little like dogs but I would rent it again.

Adirondack Lake Cottage
This is my second time at this lake house. The home is clean and quiet and just what I needed for a week away. The new washer/dryer and AC are welcome additions. For me, the beauty of this place is mostly location. It is a short walk down a path to a private beach and dock on Trout Lake. There are kayaks, paddleboards, floats, and rowboats to use. The lake is clear and calm. There is ample hiking close by and it is a short drive to the town of Bolton Landing. Visits from the family dogs - Flynn and Fancy - were always welcome.

This property was very small and very tight. It was clean and neat. However, by the second day, all we could smell was mold and mildew in the cottage. We actually left early. Additionally, the path to the lake has a significant climb down. You have to be in quite good health to be able to get to the beach. Very disappointed.

True Bliss
I have been going to the Adirondack my entire life. My grandparents live in Lake George village, and my parents had a home on Brant lake. The location and size of this lake fit me perfectly. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. The beach front was private and the kayaks were wonderful. This place provided my family the opportunity to relax and enjoy one another. It was very healing to all of us. The hosts were wonderful people. The place was spotless inside and out. The grill outside made cooking a pleasure. And the wireless internet kept me in touch with the rest of the world. The description of the place was accurate. Definitely would rent again.

Trout Lake
Trout Lake is a beautiful lake to swim and kayak in. The swim platform was wonderful and the sandy shore made it easy to wade into the clear water. The cabin sits behind the owner's house and there are views of the lake from the front porch. The cabin is cozy and has a consistent Adirondack theme. The week we were there it was hot/humid and the A/C in the living room was not effective. The fans in each room helped a lot. We had some intense rain/thunderstorms and saw a lot of ants in the house. This may be because of the storm. We enjoyed our time at Trout Lake. It's minutes away from Bolton Landing (where there are many good restaurants and shopping) and we had a great time boating on Lake George.

Extremely Disappointed -
Guest house not on lake as you are lead to believe by pictures. Path to beach has steep decline. View of lake is obstructed by Owner's home. Owner had construction project conducted on his home during our paid vacation stay. Never informed us before arrival. Would have cancelled//changed plans. As previously stated in reviews, bedrooms are extremely small-not suited for medium sized adults.

Bolton Landing stop on New England roadtrip
I only wish that it hadn't rained for two of the four days I was there! But it turned out that much of the area shuts down after Labor Day (restaurants are very hit-or-miss off season), so being hunkered down in the cottage was just fine after all. It was blissfully quiet with a beautiful sunset view over Trout Lake, about five minutes from Lake George (the town of Lake George is a bit further down the road). The bed was comfortable, and everything was spotlessly clean. I couldn't figure out how to work the Netflix TV to watch regular network TV shows (during those rainy days), so decided that reading was more relaxing anyway. Some instructions would be helpful on how to navigate through the Netflix prompts for those unfamiliar with the system. That's the only "issue" I had, but it was so unimportant at the time that I didn't bother asking about it. Thanks, Ron, for an enjoyable stay at your cottage! Neal

Facts of life - you take the good, you take the bad...I will take the high road & mention positives
Cannot fit a full review. Wish I could. -Property overlooking pretty lake. Cabin behind host's home and view is limited from porch. "Private beach" was nice but hosts can see you from house in most areas. Dock in rough shape, lounged look gross even if clean, lots of chairs and water toys (kayak, paddleboards, canoe. Rowboat filled with slimy water and raft in middle of water pooped on to the max (neighbor's wasn't as bad). -Cabin. Basic bed, kitchen, bathroom. tvs and laundry machine. Cabin is heavily sloped through 70%. It didn't bother me sleeping (bed is whatever). Has portable AC which is ok. Bathroom light/fan is loud and filled with dust you can see and black moldy wood over the shower. Pee stains on carpet. -Hosts dog(s) visited us one night. It was the cutest thing. They are very independent. -Rental is dog friendly but rules about no dogs on any couch/bed (also "no smoking" which seems to be indoors and outdoors. We have a service animal. The host was very upset about this when I told him 2 days before I came. I wasn't trying to deceive as host accused me but because Vrbo says I don't even have to mention it to anyone. Host was so mad and had Vrbo call me for extra $$ and when I explained the situation Vrbo sided with me and told host they were wrong. Host harrassed us even after that call and told us to cancel so he could make money. Refused to cancel himself after that. Can you believe that? I'm sure the host will have some bull response but Vrbo took my side.

A real "find" in the Adirondacks
After reading this lakeside cottage listing, it did not disappoint. My "better half" is in Norway on family business...so, I decided to throw the dog in the car and drive up to the Adirondacks for a few days. It's been many years since I was in the Lake George region. The host kindly agreed to my dog as co-guest...(the host's summer policy is no dogs during July / August)...me and my dog, Oscar, (Hav/ Malt big bully mix) quickly made friends with the host's two Labs...copious treats on the cottage deck helped. The cottage is IMMACULATE...(I've stayed in many "quaint" cottages around the world... that "ain't" quaint....! ) The host has equipped this cottage with every conceivable amenity...both in the cottage and on the lakeside. The cottage is beautifully refinished and the smell of knotted pine lingers throughout. There's nothing musty / fusty / dusty about this place. This cottage has more kitchen utensils than Julia Childs on a bad day (when not in prison :) )...including a pizza slicer...!... There are "toys" on the beach that will keep any aspiring triathlete in shape...and the firepit is a welcome nightstop. I intend to invite my "Viking" up to the cottage, space / time permitting, before the season ends. There are cute twists to this place...look for the two raccoons above one of the bedroom door frames...and my stand-in girlfriend, nailed to a tree...(Pocahontas serving drinks)...I hope the Woke crowd isn't reading this :)...lol
