About this property

Peaceful Cabin located in beautiful Des Moines River valley

Cabin sits on almost 2 acres right across from the Des Moines river , boat ramp just 1/4 mile away . Home has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing get away in the woods . Cabin is log and knotty pine inside . This cabin was built by my father in 2003 as his retirement home . We welcome well trained dogs , there is no fenced yard and lots of timber all around so we recommend keeping on leash as there are lots of deer crossing thru property daily . Boone is just a 10 min drive , Ogden 15 min . Don Williams recreation is also just 5 min drive . Come relax , rewind and just enjoy the peace and quiet of the country .

Perfect and Pet Friendly!!

I needed a place close to ISU to babysit my grand puppy while my son was out of time! Perfect secluded place next to the river. Couldn’t ask for a better host!! Thanks for all your advice!

I adored this stay, it was warm and cozy! I will book here again! Good distance from Des Moines without being too far. Boone is close and has some great places to dine. Everything is this cabin was as neat as a pin! It was cozy and had a GREAT bath tub! The bed was so comfortable and I felt very safe here alone!

Wow! We were really impressed. I didn't look that closely at the reviews or listing before we booked. This blew away our expectations. Very clean, up to date cabin. The price was perfect to allow a weekend get away for the 2 of us (and old dog). We really enjoyed the place and will book again

A little peace and quiet

A wonderful and peaceful cabin. It was just the place my wife and i were looking for. It was away from everything. It was so great we did not want to leave. We hoped the storm that came through would anow us in. We plan to go again. Would highly recommend for those that want to get away from it all.

We Didn’t explore much outside the cabin area due to the cold, but the inside of the cabin was beautiful just my husband and I needed before we start the new year

A slice of Heaven

This cabin is well-equipped with amenities, is located in a quiet, secluded and beautiful location. We saw deer and other wildlife in the big front yard. We will definitely stay there again!!

Bird Hunting Trip

Pilot Mound Getaway

This cabin is a great place to get away and relax! It is also not too far from town if you want to run and grab something to eat or pick something up at the store. Definitely recommend staying here!

The house was very nice and they included a lot of things to make your stay comfortable. We had a good time as well as our dog Rebel. A lot of room for him to run. Would definitely go again.

Short Get Away

Our stay was great. The property is very nice, the little cabin/house accommodated all our needs. The dogs enjoyed the park like yard and being able to walk down by the river.

Getaway

I had such a wonderful time! From the moment I opened the door and came into the cabin to the time I closed the door for the last time, it felt like I was home, that this was a place to be able to be off, to just recharge. This cabin in a little place out in the country had everything one would need. I look forward to the next time I am able to stay here. I cannot recommend this place high enough.
