About this property

Family Watauga Lake Airstream - Lakefront

New Listing! Our 30 foot Airstream Flying Cloud is located on the banks of Watauga Lake in the Cherokee National Forest.

The interior boasts a clean and comfortable sofa and tastefully decorated living area. The kitchen is equipped with preparation utensils and serving ware. Appliances include Refrigerator/Freezer, 3 burner stove top, gas oven, and microwave. Outside is a gas grill for your use.

This Airstream model is a 30FB providing 2 bedrooms. The primary bedroom features a walkaround queen mattress and pillows that are amazingly comfortable. At the other end of the trailer is room with a double bed. The living area is configurable for an additional double size bed. That is four total beds with linens and pillows.

The interior features two independent AC/heat pump units for bedroom and living spaces and gas furnace for cold nights. This is not boondocking; our Airstream is connected to electric, sewer, and water utilities. The walk in shower has abundant hot water.

Just outside the comforts of the Airstream guests enjoy a gathering space overlooking the lake. A smokeless wood burning fire pit with a modest supply of wood is provided to enjoy.

Our Airstream is steps away from our docks on Watauga Lake in historic Butler, Tennessee. The Appalachian Trail passes alongside Watauga Lake. The lake offers marinas, boat rentals, watersports, and fishing (bass and trout). Beyond lake life, visitors can explore local wineries, antique shopping, Butler Museum, Blue Hole Falls, hiking, mountain biking, and offroad atv park.

Was a nice stay

This part of the lake is lovely and quiet. It was a bit more reading of manuals to understand the workings of the airstream than expected but our stay was lovely. The beds were very comfortable. Cooking was easy and a nice time was had by all. Beware the dock is electrified so swimming off of it is not allowed- we brought our SUPs and tied them to the dock and paddled out into the cove. Clean and healthy lake and lots of wildlife. Hosts were friendly and helpful.

Outstanding! Hidden Gem!

Had to award 5☆ across the board. Not a single complaint. My wife grew up visiting this lake during her summers with her Aunt & Uncle they lived up Mnt Wynd Rd., so close to this spot. Camp Watauga is a premier spot the locals are welcoming and super friendly, "just keep your rock n' roll down" as was advised upon our first meet and greet. 😀 The value gained from our recent visit is priceless! It was great to experience the lakeside community, exemplified thru their authentic, genuine, and natural way of providing with perfect southern hospitality, there is no other... thank you! Oh, and the fireworks 🎆 whoever put on that show... BRAVO! I recorded the whole show 35:00 minutes... OH! & the echo... echo... echo... 5☆

Clean and Cozy

Our family had a wonderful stay at this property. I cannot say enough about the cleanliness of this property both inside and out. Everything in the airstream was perfectly placed and spotless. The kitchen is packed with all the pots/pans you need along with an amazing assortment of utensils. My kids loved the bunk beds with a tv just for them and enjoyed every moment swimming in the lake. This property had so much to offer with a place to fish, a place to swim, and a wonderful patio where we were able to be in the shade and watch the kids play. The location of this this property is perfect with a wonderful view of the lake and mountains. We will definitely be back for many trips to this airstream! This is also a wonderful property with great Wi Fi so I plan to bring my laptop and work a few days so that I can enjoy both the lake with my family and save a few vacation days! The property owners were very responsive to all of our questions and also super sweet checking in and wishing us a wonderful trip! I have already recommended this property to many friends!

First Stay in an Air Stream

The place was amazing! Nicely decorated, very clean, and had every accommodation you could imagine. All you had to do was show up, relax, and enjoy the beautiful area of the lake and hiking trails. The only issue I had I was not able to get the heat turned on upon our arrival. But it was late once I got there and chose not to bother the host Eric. Thermostat was to fancy for my brain and the instruction booklet wasn’t helpful. Other than that I highly recommend this camper. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the lake and hiked a few trails to some nearby waterfalls. Relaxing by the lake was just what I needed. The residents that live here are the nicest people. So were the regular campers. I will definitely come back! PS Limited to no cell service in the area, you will have WiFi at the camp site.

Lakeside

Looking for a place where I could simply spend the night and send the day riding the motorcycle. Great central location.
