Amazing week!

SGI never disappoints and The Reel Deal held up its end of the bargain! Everything about the house was as described and if I had to pick an area of improvement, it would be to provide 2 bath towels/washcloths per person.

Great place for family vacation

We visited A Reel Deal with another family and had a great trip! The view from the deck is beautiful and the house is well maintained. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing week. Gordon, the owner, did a great job communicating with us about the trip. I hope we can return someday.

I cannot praise this property enough! My family and I have stayed on the island for almost 30 years and this is by far our favorite house. The location, the floor plan, the cleanliness, and the host are exceptional. I cannot wait to book for next year.

Great house for families

A Great Spot!

Loved this property. It was very well appointed with all the needs for a great beach stay. The pool was wonderful and being within the plantation was quiet and peaceful. We were welcomed by Dolphins on our check in day and got to enjoy seeing them all week long. The host was very gracious and attentive and made sure everything was as requested. We took our family (all adult children and spouses) with us and they also greatly enjoyed the property. Loved the fact that we could walk out on the back deck, down the steps and be at the beach or pool. I would highly recommend this property.

Perfect trip!

Traveling with children, it's rare that a trip meets my expectations, but our stay at A Reel Deal was wonderful. We were steps from the beach and could go put our toes in the sand for five minutes or two hours without much preparation. The house was lovely, and we absolutely loved the pool! We fully utilized the kitchen, and there was more than enough room for our family (5 adults and 2 kids). We've already talked about going back!

Gordon is very responsive and helpful. The house, pool and especially the location are wonderful. Why did we give it a 4 on expectations? There were some broken items we believe should be replaced before new customers come in. Would rent again. YES!

Older siblings get together

The location could not be beat. Beautiful ocean views, saw dolphins every morning while having coffee on the deck. Nice large private pool is another advantage. The forgotten coast doesn't have crowded beaches but the beach in front of the house almost felt private. I will definitely choose this rental again when returning to St George Island.

Annual beach week

As 4th generation Apalachicola folks… we were very familiar with the area. We had not stayed in the Plantation side of the island. What a wonderful treat!!! Spent a wonderful week with friends and our dogs. The house is perfect! LOTS of space for everyone. Fully appointed with everything you need. Cooked out a few times, enjoyed local restaurants on others. The house is also very safe as we stayed during the hurricane. Beach was also perfect for shells, relaxing, kite flying, and wave surfing. We will Definitely be back! Highly recommend!!

Beautiful location

We enjoyed our stay in the Plantation. The house is beautifully located with an easy private beach access. It has great areas with large tables inside and out to gather and spend time playing games, dining and just sitting enjoying the beach views. The pool is a really nice asset. We met our adult kids and enjoyed the beach, played lots of Pickleball and spent time biking, etc. The only issue we had was the first evening checking in due to housekeeping and linen service being very delayed. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend The Reel Deal.

Beach Front House

The house and Gulf front location with a large pool was perfect for our family. The large FR, breakfast bar, dining table (hard to find) & 3 BR + loft bunk beds accommodated all of us comfortably. For our next beach vacation, I’m sure we will be back.

What's not to love?

This beautiful home has the perfect view of the ocean. It was spacious, had everything you need in the well stocked kitchen and decorated beautify. Loved seeing pictures of the Stark family in their beach home. The pool was enjoyed by everyone when we were not on the beach. We hope to return in 2024! Most relaxing vacation ever!!!

A “Reel Deal” at St. George Island surpassed all of our expectations. This beautiful house had plenty of room and was just steps away the ocean. The privacy of The Plantation, location of the house and great fishing were some of the things that we loved. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. It was nice to not have to wait hours to eat at a restaurant and endure heavy traffic in a crowded beach area. We can’t wait to go back!

Truly is the Reel Deal!

Beautiful property! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the beach front view, the pool, and great biking paths in the area (just outside the door). Gordon was super responsive and great to work with! Perfect beach getaway.

This property was perfect. The back porch integrates nicely into the beach which was not heavily populated. The heated pool in the fall was great. Ambient lighting at night made it a perfect location for star gazing. The Plantation side of St George Island was very secluded and had a lot of walking and biking opportunities. Will definitely be visiting again.

Perfect location

We had an amazing week on beautiful St. George Island. The home is in a perfect location, accommodated six adults perfectly allowing us all our own bit of privacy. The pool is larger than most private home pools and we definitely enjoyed it. It would be nice if there had been some lighting for night swimming. All in all we had a great vacation.

Epic Family Beach Vacay!

We were a group of 3 couples and a sweet teenager gathering for our annual beach vacation and celebrating 2022 milestones - we had high hopes for a memorable time and A Reel Deal exceeded all expectations! We were delighted right from the arrival - the beautiful Plantation, this spacious and bright beach home, its location on an uncrowded and serene beachfront, and the stunningly star-filled night skies. We loved being super-close to the shoreline and enjoyed surf side dinners nightly on the porch while the dolphins splashed and played. The entire home is so well-appointed and the kitchen is equipped for any meal you can imagine. The whole-property speaker system added wonderful ambiance to the pool, deck, and the spacious living area. We even had a wonderful experience helping to rescue a couple of sea turtle hatchlings to the sea with the Gloria from the Turtler Patrol. We loved the daily bike rides throughout the bike paths (Gordon has arranged a discount with Jolly Rogers rentals - quick delivery and great rates!). We highly recommend grabbing that pizza from BJ’s on your way to check in - very satisfying after a long drive! Gordon was excellent to partner with prior and throughout our visit - informative, attentive, and quick to respond to any question or situation. We look forward to our return the beautiful St George Island and A Reel Deal - thank you, Gordon, for a special time!

Wonderful getaway

We had a wonderful stay here. It was our first time in the plantation and it was great. Very close to beach, lots of dolphins. Very nice. My ONLY complaint (and it really isn’t a complaint) would be the bed in the upstairs master was too hard for my old body. We had others to choose from so wasn’t a problem at all. If you could please everyone all the time about everything what a wonderful world we would live in. Our stay really was great.

The Gulf of America, The Apalachicola Bay and the Apalachicola River converge to form one of the most productive estuaries in the world. These island waters are nationally recognized as a fisherman’s paradise. Fresh oysters and sweet, plump shrimp are harvested locally and sold at the numerous fresh seafood dealers.
