If you’re looking for a peaceful, secluded outdoor oasis, then this is the place for you. The accommodations are modest and quite small for a family. However, if you are spending most of your time outside and don’t need a full kitchen then it would probably fit your needs well. We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit, taking in the views and soaking in the hot tub.
The property was so relaxing. We didn't see anyone except the owner, who was great to talk to (and his golden retriever). The Cowboy Hide a Way was so comfortable. The hot tub was clean, as was the cabin. The grill was in great shape.
I couldn't recommend a stay there any more.
I would love to go back.
Beautiful property the cabin is so cute perfectly situated the hot tub is awesome very clean just a beautiful getaway and not a far drive highly highly recommend
Incredible weekend at the Cowboy Hideaway!!! Thank you !!! So comfortable and quaint !! The countryside is so beautiful!! The host was very accommodating and responsive !! We’ll definitely be back !! Perfect weekend !!!
Just what we needed!!! We were looking for some quiet chill and that’s exactly what we got!!
It was a cute cozy cabin. Had all essential’s available. Lovely farm setting. Beautiful and easy drive into township area with great restaurants.
We would definitely recommend staying there and we’ll definitely rent there again!! Well done ‼️
The property is stunning and accommodations are very private. It is a small bungalow but all that is needed. The linens provided were fabulous. The hot tub is clean, private and relaxing with a beautiful view. I highly recommend.
Beautiful outside and inside. Loved the hot tub. Enjoyed talking to the host and being welcomed by his golden retriever. Thanks you so very much for sharing your beautiful place with us and others.

Great property and location for the area. Steve the host was very kind, welcoming and accommodating. I'm looking forward to going back for a longer stay.
Booked as a stay for a 2 now get and 3 day weekend in Monticello wine region for my wife’s birthday. I wanted quiet, private and comfortable with a hot tub and option for cooking and it worked out perfectly!
The cottage is comfortable and appointed well for a weekend to week long stay. It was quiet and private as we desired with nice views onto the fields enjoying sunrise and the local deer.
The kitchen has a 2 burner induction cooktop without an oven but with some prep at home I was then able to make a nice dinner for us one evening and breakfast for both mornings.
We enjoyed the stay and discussed other future travels to the area in which we would definitely return!
Wonderful, clean and updated property! Close to everything yet remote enough to feel "away from it all." Host was helpful and respectful with lots of great local recommendations. We had to cut our trip short but wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy all of the amenities.
Steven is very uptight about his property, one of the reasons he cites is his "privacy" - he was uncomfortable with the prospect of my 67 y/o mother and father visiting the property for drink on the patio of the cottage - an objectively benign activity. The property is beautiful and the cottage was clean but he's slow and inconsistent with the check in and check out information. He neglected to send us the check in information and his check out information was not posted on the property page of the reservation and instead was tucked at the bottom of the check-in email. For what he's charging, he made it a lot of work and is very particular about his services.
Everything about this stay was easy, from the check in, check out/leaving, communication with the owner, recommendations from the owner, etc. Looking forward to staying there again.
This cottage had everything my fiancé and I needed. A cozy cottage with phone charging stations at every table. Plenty of storage space for all of your needs. Private hot tub, grill and fire pit. The view of rolling hills from every corner of the cottage is so breathtaking that you don’t even have to leave to see nature. And the lake behind the cottage is icing on the cake. Steve is a great host and is always a phone call away.
I can’t say enough good things about our stay. We are already talking about our next adventure here.
Beautiful rolling hills and relaxing outdoor features, short drive to plenty of great Cville favorites. The little details that made it even better: wine in the fridge, well-stocked kitchenette, fluffy towels, soft and comfortable bedding, easy check-in/out, and a huge plus- the brand new hot tub. Only downside was the confusing description of sleeping arrangements, it is not a 2 bedroom, so not ideal for four people.
Snug 1-bedroom apartment carved out of former stables building on historic farm minutes from Monticello. Shares lovely, walkable grounds with two other rental units and the main house, but is also set apart and private. Amazing views of night sky and sunrise from the new hot tub. Enjoyed cooking and dining outside with the gas grill and covered patio. Owner Steve greeted us warmly and responded quickly to our questions and requests. Great value for a comfortable stay, and we’d gladly stay again.
