The Hangout consist of two structures separated by the pool. Main house features a large living room, dinning room and completely stocked kitchen. One bedroom and full bath along with laundry room on main level. The upstairs is large master bedroom, full bath and an futon in alcove for extra guest. Across from main house is separate structure with a downstairs game room, equipped with ping pong table, air hockey along with several board games. Also has full refrigerator, bar sink, half bath. Also provides a queen bed and futon. Great place to open the windows and fall asleep to the sounds of crickets and frogs! The upstairs has two queen beds, one single along with sitting area, tv, coffee maker, mini fridge and full bath. Plenty of outdoor spaces to spread out or gather!

the Hangout

Ten human and 4 fur babies met in a beautiful place at Delano Tn for a Thanksgiving holiday. Florida family was 9 1/2 hours from their homebase. Illinois family was 9 1/2 hours from their homebase. Michigan family was 9 1/2 hours from their homebase. First opportunity to get together in years. Excellent amenities. Was as the property manager described. Nice game room. Plenty of space for all. Spacious property bordering Cherokee National Forest. Fully furnished kitchen allowed for preparation of all meals. Swimming pool was a wee bit cold, but enjoyed by the crazies of the bunch. May turn into an annual affair

Cozy Mountain Getaway

We felt very comfortable and at home here. We were there to watch our son sing at Lee University, so we didn’t have much time to hike around. My husband and I hope to come back for a long weekend next summer to hike and swim. Communication with the home owner was very efficient. We’ll be back!

Me, my husband, my mother, my daughter’s son-in-law stayed for my son’s wedding. We had lots of room. Everything was clean. If we are back that way we will definitely stay again.

Great anniversary getaway

We love this place! We came here last year in 2023 for our anniversary and loved it so much that we wanted to come back. We've NEVER done that at any place we have stayed and liked. This place was just so private, peaceful and most importantly let us bring our dog. We love the hot tub and pool. And for ALL of those reasons, that's why we will be back again!!

Could have been better

The pool is the best feature of this property. The main house needs maintenance work badly. It says online that the property sleeps 14. True if half are children.The oven is hard to figure out and no directions are available. The downstairs of the bunk house is not air conditioned. We managed to stay the 2 nights reserved, but would not have tolerate any more time there.

Family Vacation

This was a great place to stay for my family - we all live within an hour of the place and we wanted somewhere big enough to house us, their dogs, and swim. There was plenty of supplies for us at the house and they had a great space to hang out, talk, play games around the table and swim in the huge pool! The dogs loved being off leash and roaming the fenced in back yard. The host was great at communication and checking in on us. Would stay here again!

Peace, quiet, and relaxation

This was my 3rd stay at this property. My family absolutely loves it here. There is plenty of room for everyone. It is secluded and you hardly know there are neighbors. The pool is a huge draw. It is absolutely amazing. There is plenty to do in the area--hiking, boating, fishing, whitewater rafting. The scenery also can't be beat. Sandy is a great hostess. She checked to make sure we didn't need anything when we checked in and wished us safe travels when we checked out. She has always been very responsive to our needs. We can't wait to visit again!

Wedding festivities

Great place to have our bridal party and out of town guests to gather before our wedding at Hiwassee River! Plenty of space to hang out and the kids loved the pool and game room! Only con was the lack of cell phone service and no WiFi. However my kids survived because there was plenty of pool time and ping pong to keep them busy!

The house and game room were amazing and so much more than we expected! The house and game house were clean and everything was wonderful. My family did not want leave! The host was wonderful and even sent a text on Friday to make sure we were there and if we needed anything. Love our stay!

Absolutely beautiful

Our youth group absolutely loved this house and pool house. We didn't get to enjoy the pool this time because it was so cold outside but we did get to have fun in the hot tub. We also loved the location of this property. Thank you for allowing us to make awesome memories!

LOVE IT!!!

My husband surprised me with this beautiful, and private home for our 26th anniversary!! I was totally amazed at how well everything was. I really enjoyed having my furbaby with us as well! It's all fenced in, so she could run around and us not worry about her. However, I am one of those people who pick up after her when she goes potty, and it seemed like anyone else who has stayed there did the same. The pool was amazing!!! Sandra was very helpful with questions we had. She was very accommodating! I DEFINITELY want to go back!!! We didn't even turn on the TV, we enjoyed the place so much and played games and talked and walked! Thank you Sandra!!!

Wedding trip

The property set up and amenities in theory are wonderful. The guest house property was dirty with cob webs on lights smelled so bad of must a mold, the toilet rocks and is going to fall thru floor. The upstairs is incomplete had open holes where electric was. The main cabin was clean however several light bulbs need changed. I opened kitchen sink to find trash bags and found black mold under sink where it leaks and a bowl was full of water we had to continually empty and floor is falling in. The house could be spectacular with some maintenance and updating. The wash and dryer were nice and very clean. The pool has needed repair on ladder and pool liner coming off. We weren’t able to enjoy the pool it was to cold. The lounge chairs have sun rot and can’t be sat in. New cushion for other chairs need replaced. I would definitely stay again if the house is updated and maintained the set up is fabulous…. Lots of outdoor areas to enjoy. Thanks for opening up your home for our stay. Side note my husband is allergic to black mold and only came over late to sleep to try and not get sick for our Sons wedding, that really needs addressed. I hope this helps , you really have a special property!!

Family vacation

This was our 3rd year staying at the Hangout. We absolutely love this property. It's so private you don't even know you have neighbors. There is enough space for large families. The area has plenty to offer and is not highly crowded and touristy. If you don't feel like going anywhere, the property has an awesome pool and a game room. Sandi is a great hostess and very responsive to any needs. We hope to be back next year!

Absolutely perfect!

Booked this property looking to get away from the hustle of everyday life. Mission accomplished! So much room for activities and super close to Hiawassee River! Having 2 separate buildings was absolutely perfect for separating the early risers and late sleepers. All quarters had their own bathrooms! My 5 year old considered the bunk house his personal fort and loved the freedom this place offered. We cooked a ton and had everything we needed, plenty of board games, beds were comfortable, skylights in the main bedroom was a nice surprise, pool was very clean, enjoyed playing peek-a-boo with the massive frog in the pond, stargazing was incredible with dark sky with the sound of Gee Creek waters rushing in the distance. Host was easy to contact with any questions. I would absolutely love to stay again with a larger group, there’s so much room for extra guests! I tend to ignore reviews without cons, so this is for people like me: Gameroom was perfect for guests, but the game tables have had better days(we still enjoyed them). Propane grill didn’t work for us but I’m sure the host would’ve remedied this if we had of asked(she is aware and I’m sure it is already fixed). I did see some reviews about the grounds being perfectly trimmed and landscaped, this may be a con to some who are looking to impress, however, in my eyes it added to the beauty of the property and the natural shade was much needed. Host, please don’t change! That’s it! Thanks for the stay! Hope to be back!

love lizards!

it was just as pictured and stated. beds were comfy, had what we needed, pool was divine, we never used the jacuzzi! too hot! but I'm sure it would have been great. nature abounds, quiet area. we did finally get to see two lizards, wish we had seen more truly enjoyed spending time with our Benton area family and floating the river !! Great Getaway

My husband and I had a great getaway here with our dogs. We felt very comfortable and had more than enough space inside and out. Hiking Gee Creek was amazing for us and our dogs. We want to visit again when it’s warmer to be able to use the pool that looked amazing and to hike Star Mountain.

Great get away spot.

We went as a couple and our dog. Very relaxing. Totally can see how the property would be perfect for a family gathering with multiple generations. Grab bar for single step great addition. Older home, but well maintained. You can tell it's a rental Fast response from host. Loved seeing all of the lizards and insects. Great experience did not even want to leave to site see or travel home.

Perfect for a family stay

Traveling to TN for a wedding from VT. In my correspondence with Sandi I asked that the pool be open even though it was early October. She seems surprised but complied. Being from New England we are used to cool water and the day after the wedding was sunny and warm - perfect for a dip in the pool. Any concerns we had during the stay - and there were a couple were addressed quickly and to our satisfaction.
