My husband and I stayed four nights for a fall getaway. We've stayed in many vacation rentals, and this one didn't disappoint! The house was exceptionally clean and comfortable with a beautiful outdoor space. The owners have thought of everything when stocking the house with all the essentials, from paper products to soap, shampoo, conditioner, cleaning supplies, etc. All you need to bring is your clothes and food. Everything else is supplied. We enjoyed fishing from the dock and then spending evenings watching movies. Communication with the owner was excellent. We would definitely stay here in the future!
This was a hidden paradise. It’s nestled at the end of a quiet road on a beautiful piece of land. The lake was so beautiful and our family enjoyed kayaking, paddle boating and fishing. The trampoline was a great surprise for the kids who were out on it when they weren’t in the water and it wasn’t raining. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed.
The house is in a nice spot for anyone that is interested in the Southwestern Michigan winery scene. Paddle boat and kayaks are great for exploring the lake. Not much in the way of a beach, but Lake Michigan and South Haven/Saugatuck aren't too far from the property. Quiet, near enough to groceries and a great taco place. Beds are comfortable, there is plenty of space for board games, puzzles, and movies.
We booked this house for a family vacation! It was perfect for us 6 adults and 4 kids under 7. The trampoline kept the kids entertained for hours. We had a few things come and John was very easy to get ahold of and took care of it right away. One day we lost power and he was ready with suggestions to keep us busy. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely book this house again!
The house was comfortable and spacious. Relaxing on the deck with the grandkids. Fishing all the time with a great view. Plenty of space for a big family. Would love to vacation here again.
My husband and I are in our mid 30's. We have 4 kids, ages being 15, 14, 7 and 1. We all stayed at this beautiful Lakehouse. We enjoyed our time there, it was peaceful and hidden down a private road (there are neighboring houses, but we didnt see any other people).
The first night we were there, we had a small drain problem with the dishwasher and disposal being clogged. We called the Owner and he immediately called a plumber to come over the next day and assess the situation. He even gave us tips on where to go on a rainy day. Very pleasant to talk to. The plumbing situation was fixed and they refunded us some of our rental money for the inconvenience. I would 100% recommend this property for a relaxing vacation!
The lakeside location, on several acres, was perfect for our mixed-age group. The kids always had something to do between the trampoline, fishing, boating, and swimming. The adults had plenty of comfortable areas to relax. The place was meticulously clean, the rooms were good sized (especially the main bedroom), and the beds were comfortable. All of the amenities were present, including a drinking water system. The location is very peaceful, great for calm early morning kayaking and sitting as well as stargazing at night. Perfect for what we wanted, and we will probably try to return next year.
We loved our stay at South Scott Lake! Our group included two small families with three kids between the ages of 3 and 10.
The home was spacious, lovely and as described. The oldest child loved the “retro” vibe and was delighted to find a Hot Wheels track in the closet. All the beds and linens were comfortable. We cooked most of our meals and had everything we needed.
The real star is the lake, of course. It is small but pretty quiet and low traffic. We brought our own SUPs and life jackets, but also enjoyed the kayaks and peddle boat. The lilly pad was a pleasant surprise and really a must with the kids. We sat outside often and did a fire one night.
We traveled into South Haven to experience blueberry picking, shopping, dining, and Lake Michigan. We traveled to Kalamazoo for a night of bowling/arcade. Both are very close and accessible.
There was just one issue related to cleanliness, but we appreciated the quick communication we received from John regarding it. It did not deter us from enjoying our stay and we would definitely return!
What an incredible lake house! The view from the slider and kitchen window is spectacular. The rooms are comfy. Plenty of beach and bath towels. The deck was my favorite place to sit any time of the day. Paddle boat, kayaks, canoe. There was no need to leave the house inside and out.
We will be back!
Very nice and clean house on the Lake, it was nice for us because it was halfway between Kalamazoo and South Haven.
The owner was very nice and helpful to anything we needed. He even offered tips for local restaurants which was very helpful.
I would stay here again.
Thanks
