We came to Chicago for Thanksgiving week. The house was very convenient. Very Clean! The only thing is the lower level was very cold. Perhaps a small room heater would help.

Okay.
Served the purpose for our visit to Chicago.
Didn't realize it was managed by realtors. Would much rather rent from a person or family that owns the house and uses it themselves. That is why we found it very sterile. No personal touches. The couch in the living room and in the basement were extremely uncomfortable. The Dishwasher did not work. No plug for the kitchen sink. Had to buy own dish towels. It was on a very busy street. Clean mostly
. Communication for access and departure were not great.
Outside front light did not work. Hard for pizza delivery man to find the house.
No extra blankets.
On the good side. Close to convention centre where we wanted to attend an event.
Beds were comfortable. Grocery store nearby.
I don't think that we would rent a place from vrbo that would not be owned by a person or family.
Have only rented places that were owned by families.
I think realtors would miss things that would make the place more comfortable and things that need to be fixed.

Nice house, complicated communication.
We celebrated Christmas here with my family of 10 from 3 different states. The house was plenty big for all of us, and well equipped. I did have to bring more cooking supplies from home. My only concern was the communication with the "landlords". It is not a person or family that rents this house, but a large realty group that owns many properties in the area. My first interaction with them was being told to withdraw my request to rent as I inquired too early in the year. What? I have never heard of that. Several more encounters were just as weird. I have rented dozens of VRBO properties and have a 5 star rating as a renter, and yet this group drilled me like I was some kind of criminal trying to get away with something . They wanted a picture of my driver's license just because my profile was my business name. I am a sole proprietor, my business and I are one and the same. Nobody has every asked me for that before. I had to go in and change my profile for them. I also wasn't given the code to the door until 3 minutes before arrival time. My family had driven for 10 hours and then had to sit in their cars until I could get the code. Again, I have never encountered that. Every other place I've rented gives the code at least 12 hours ahead. There is also no checkout instructions....why? Because they don't give them to you until 1 hour before checkout!! Ridiculous. We enjoyed our stay despite all these oddities, but I will not rent from this group again.

Poorly managed
When we arrived the code for the front door didn’t work. I tried multiple times and then called the emergency contact person. He told me that there was a lockbox with a key in it hooked to the gas meter. There was NO lockbox!! I was on the phone with him and eventually the host for over an hour to no avail! They said maybe it was the batteries, but weren’t sure. They had NO emergency plan! They were going to send the cleaning over to try the lock and I asked what was the plan if it didn’t work for her. They told me they’d figure something out! My husband and son’s and 7 month old grandson arrived after I was stuck outside in cold Chicago weather and my husband went around to the back of the house and luckily the door was unlocked so we were able to get in. The person they sent over tried the lock 3 times and left with no information about how they were going to fix it! Someone came the next day to change the batteries and the lock worked. However, the night before we discovered that the water in the kitchen didn’t work. They were going to send a plumber but we weren’t going to be there and didn’t want a stranger in the house while we we gone. We decided to leave early Sunday instead of staying until Monday because of all these issues and problems. The management team was lacking in solutions and follow up to say the least!!
The property was exactly what we wanted and matched the posting. The property manager was a delight to communicate with and made things as easy as possible.
The home was clean and comfortable. All the beds were clean and very comfortable. We cooked on the stove and it worked well. We used the jacuzzi style soaking tub and loved it! We were right on a busy street, but it was relatively quiet.
The only 2 very minor deltas were a) the trash outside of the house, presumably left by the last renters (it was outside the bins and blowing all over the front and back yard so we cleaned it up so the neighbors wouldn't be upset), and b) there was a funky smell in the laundry area that we didn't notice at first as there was a plug in room freshener right near it. I am highly sensitive to fragrances, so I unplugged the air freshener, then we could smell it.
Brought my mother in law and her sisters to stay for a few days to see other family members. Was perfect amount of space for six of us. Very cozy home with a nice sitting area out back.
My husbands parents (in their 80's) grew up in the area and we drove from Indy and they flew in from California to visit together, shop some of the great Italian and Polish stores. Met with their old friends and family. Great Location. House had plenty of room and the fenced in back yard was awesome for our small dogs. Blaine was quick to respond and the neighborhood is very safe.
Spent 3 nights in this home for my daughters vb tournament at the dome! This is the perfect location if you want your daily comments to the dome, field, conference center, outlets etc. to be short but you want a little piece and quiet in the evenings and a little more space for your buck, when choosing between rental house or hotel! House was as listed, A great weekend had by the whole fam. Ages- 44,38,20.18,16,9
The property was perfect for our extended family gathering. Three bedrooms and the basement was adequate space to sleep our group of 7 adults and 4 kids. The property has been tastefully decorated. Minor issues reported to owner were promptly responded to. Overall, a good experience. I would gladly come back here again
