My family and I have been staying here for 10 plus years...we truly love and appreciate the spectacular views and sunsets! I highly recommend this cottage.
A stunningly beautiful property RIGHT ON THE WATER! Honeymooners, small families, anyone who likes screened in porches and gorgeous views. Super quiet, too.
We had a wonderful time. The home is cozy and inviting and has everything you might possibly need, inside and out! Plenty of outdoor porches, space to set up your yard games, and of course a firepit! A welcome book outlines the many amenities and answers any questions you might have. Communication with Kyle is immediate should you need to reach out. The views of the lake are simply spectacular! Very peaceful and relaxing, yet close enough to other activities should you wish to venture out. We hope to be lucky enough to visit again!
Location, location: this lovely cottage is Iin a private and secluded location with water views of Lake Champlain on two sides. Very lovely with an outdoor deck and a screened in porch. I would definitely stay there again:
We had a great trip to Vermont. The house was just as described in the listing. It was very comfortable and very relaxing. Not far from the cottage is the Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail which starts in St Albans and goes for 26.3 miles. Very nice trail for biking, walking etc. It was a nice getaway we really enjoyed.
Property is at the end of a dead end with conservation land behind and beside. It has water on two sides and plenty of water views from all windows. Big open concept space on first floor with three different decks and a screened in porch. Three bedrooms and two full baths. Wonderful place.
Last year my wife and I celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary at the Pines. We had such a great stay, we booked again for this year and plan on again for next year! The property is excellent and very well appointed. The first floor has an open concept with expansive views of the lake on two sides. The unique thing about this property is privacy. This large lot is on a private point, so no cars can drive by. We enjoyed the screened porch and the outdoor deck while being treated to some glorious sunsets. The fishing was amazing. The largest fish caught for the week was a 9.5lb Pike. Thanks again Kyle, for another great stay.
We just returned home from this beautiful rental and all I can say is, take me back!! The house was perfect, fit our family of 6 wonderfully. There was nothing that we needed, everything was stocked so well! There is a huge game selection in the living room closet as well and our kids loved that. We ate most meals on the porch enjoying the view. The location of the house is breathtaking and really the pictures in the listing dont do it justice. The lake is along two sides of the house, you can see the water from so many angles inside the house. We fished and took out our kayaks many times. My children caught tons of frogs and garden snakes in the little stream off the driveway. We took a couple trips to surrounding towns when it rained, found a cute hiking area one day, Creemees which featured 100 different flavors of soft serve and enjoyed a delicious brunch at the Spanked Puppy. Everyone in the area was super friendly, it really is a gorgeous place and such a relaxing environment. My family has stayed in a handful of lakehouses over the years but this was the first that felt like home. So inviting and none of us wanted to leave. Thanks for having us!

Great locaton, beautiful place to stay.
This cottage was just perfect for us...my 3 old friends and I find a place every year for a reunion, and Lake Champlain was our choice this year. Location couldn't have been better. The cottage itself was clean and perfect for 4 women to unwind in...clean and well-equipped. The sunsets were to die for! The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because, when we arrived, the toilet in one of the two bathrooms wasn't working. Unfortunately, we were unable to get a response from the owner until we had already figured out what the problem was and had performed a bit of plumbing on our own. Not what we had planned for, but oh well! This problem continued throughout the week, but since we had figured it out, we just kept fixing it. I think it would have been nice if the owner had offered to come by to take a look at it (or fix it), but we saw neither hide nor hair of her the entire time. She responded quite a while after our first attempt to reach her, and then it was difficult to get a response, even when we'd already checked out. I had to try 3 different times to finally get a response to my encouragement to get the toilet fixed. Oh, and yes, there were no boats out for us to use. Perhaps it was because it was the end of the season and the owner was getting ready to close the cottage up for the winter, but I wish we'd had the nice interaction with the owners that other reviewers had.
This was our sixth visit to the Pines since 2017. It is, for us, the happiest place on earth. The owners have made small but noticeable improvements over the years, but the charm and character of the house, the location, and the lake remain. The nearby town of St Albans offers a variety of restaurant options, and the canon is situated just about mid way between Montreal, Stowe, and Burlington.
The owners are always pleasant and communicative, and this year they were proactive in notifying us about a problem with the water quality so we were prepared to bring drinking water with us.
Every year when we leave, we already start dreaming about our next visit. I’d say we’d recommend this cabin to all of our friends, but we don’t want too much competition for the limited availability of our favorite place on earth!
The property was exactly as described. It was peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. The location was convenient for exploring local attractions. The Italian Restaurant in Saint Albans was fantastic! The property is perfect for a couple or small family. It was a bit chilly, as the heat does not flow well into the master bedroom. The views of the lake are outstanding. We really enjoyed watching the herons. If quiet and clean is what you are looking for, this place is perfect! One small negative note was the blinds were difficult to close in the living room so we just left them open. It could very well have been our lack of expertise but we just left them open. Overall great stay and would certainly book again if the opportunity arises
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Pines. The cottage is spotless; very well equipped and in a perfect setting. Our host was very helpful when we reached out with questions. The whole experience was wonderful and we will return to the Pines for our next getaway in Vermont.
My wife and I were looking for a place to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We wanted a nice and quiet place. A waterfront that you could just walk out your door to be in the water and must also have beautiful sunsets. This rental was exactly what we were looking for! The unique thing about this property is privacy- the lot is large and on a private point, so no cars drive by. We enjoyed the screened in porch and the outdoor deck while being treated to some glorious sunsets and having a firepit to make some smores. The house was very comfortable and perfectly appointed. We had such a great time we already booked for next year!
The location is nothing short of excellent. We spent almost every night in the screened in deck marveling at the sunsets. The house is very well suited for a young family. Everything in the house was in very good condition and I can't think of anything that we needed which wasn't there. I gave the accuracy on the listing as four stars, however, 3 1/2 stars says it better. The shortcoming is the statement on air-conditioning; the master bedroom door had to be left open to benefit from the very good split system on the main floor. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
We had an amazing relaxing week at this beautiful property. It's the last cottage on the road and the neighbors were extremely quiet. We spent our mornings & evenings on the screened-in porch looking out at the lake. The cottage was well stocked with kitchen necessities, linens & towels.
This was the first trip we took where we spent more time at the house than out exploring the area. Plenty to do nearby but we just loved the lake views and couldn't get enough!
Couldnt have been better. I could have researched i bit better and noted that VT had big drought which affected the lake level, but certainly no fault of the owner. We got in 2 long bike rides as the weather was spectacular. Perfect for my wife and I.
What a wonderful time at Kyle’s camp! The location is beautiful and peaceful while still being only 10-15 minutes from Saint Albans. Kyle is an excellent communicator and answers all questions promptly and kindly. We had a great time and look forward to returning.
The property was excellent and very well appointed. The open concept first floor kitchen, dining room, and living room was expansive with views of the lake on two sides. The property easily accommodated two adult couples and the kitchen had everything one would need. The location is on a point of land at the end of a dead end. The lake was quiet and calm so there was hardly any noise at all. We could sit out on the deck by day and in the screened porch at night. There were various types of waterfowl landing in the marshy area to one side of the cottage that provided some great photo opportunities. Despite the feeling of being isolated, the location is also close to the City of St. Albans and about 30 minutes to Burlington. I will visit again in 2021.
This was our second time staying at this property. The house has great westerly views and the location is right on the water. The house is well equipped and the owner, Kyle, was very helpful and easy to communicate with. Our only negative comment has nothing to do with the house, per se. It has to do with the lake. You couldn't really swim in front of the house - shallow and weedy. Plus there were loads of geese in the area which tended to foul the water. However, there are parks in the area and you could probably go swimming there.
