We were 15 people and everyone had a great time the accommodations were great.
It was exactly as portrayed on line. The fridges could have been cleaner, and toilet paper should be furnished. Besides that it was great and when I had to call Jennifer she was great. All and all it was a wonderful vacation/reunion. Weather could have been a little better but it didn’t seem to bother anyone Thanks for having us Suzanne and family

The house was filthy and full of health code violations.
There were mouse droppings in the drawers, the kitchen cabinets and appliances were filthy. The house had not been cleaned before we got there. There was food in the freezer and cabinets. There were items on the shelves such as: a single earring, a hair tie, opened mouth wash in the bathroom cabinet, to name a few. It was obvious that the house had not been cleaned. The rugs and furniture were filthy and had a very bad odor. We had to wash the pillows, mattress pads (some were blood stained) and bedspreads before using them because they smelled really bad. It rained one day while we were there and that increased the musty smell from the carpets. The throw rugs in the bathrooms were filthy. Every window overlooking the lake was covered in spiderwebs. There were large spiders in the house as well. They have limited outlets in the bedrooms, so have extension cords running under the furniture. The upstairs railing above the living room, is very low and one spot was missing a cross rail. The stair rail was actually black with filth. The majority of the furniture has cushions which were dirty and smelled bad. The house needs a complete overhaul. The kitchen cabinets and appliances should be replaced. The rugs should be replaced. It should not be rented as is. The setting on the lake was absolutely beautiful. What a waste of a perfect location. We will not be back.

Best place EVER!
I can't say enough great things about the Christmas Tree Inn! Right on the water, literally gobs of room, a bathroom in every bedroom plus extra ones, dock for sunrises and porch for sunsets. Huge waterfront dining area sat 16 of us with room to spare. Huge kitchen with prep table, full stock of all the utensils needed, two giant fridges and two stoves. Family pets welcome. Flat for easy access. Lots of parking. Minutes to downtown. Game room. Fire pit. Safe, quiet neighborhood. Water view bedrooms (bring all your own sheets, towels, etc). Fascinating history! Best host EVER. So, so much more. Our very best family summer camp week ever, in great part because of this fantastically wonderful stay.

wonderful stay on the lake
Our large family had a wonderful time during our stay at the Christmas Tree Inn. There was plenty of room for everyone. Everyone enjoyed spending time on the lake swimming and kayaking. Everyone enjoyed looking at the pictures located throughout the Inn. We would defiantly consider renting this again in the future.

Great place for large groups.
Great spot for large groups; lake and swim raft great for kids, large yard for playing games, dinning area could hold all 20 of us. Note they don't provide bed linens and that isn't explicitly stated in the description of the property. I think most people assume linens are included when you rent a house.

Can't beat this place or location!
/We have had our large siblings reunion at Christmas Tree Inn for 9 years now. Every year we all say "Wow - what a place this is! Right on the water yet in the woods. Yes, it is rustic, but VERY cozy, clean and comfortable. Sand beach area for the youngsters just feet from the back door, great patio/deck for adults all just feet away from the lake yet in the woods. You will not find another place like this for a large get together. Price is fair. Owner Stephanie easy to correspond with. Highly recommend Christmas Tree Inn - just don't take our week :) Wayne Mahar, Syracuse, NY

Its all about family!
This is our 2nd year at the Christmas Tree Inn and we love it. If you are looking for a comfortable family atmosphere where you can disconnect, enjoy nature, and the family, then you will find it here. We had up to 26 people and the property consumes you, you never feel in each others way. Each family enjoys the privacy of there own bathroom, a big kitchen for cooking, and a yard to host games. And right up the road, have your lobsters cooked for you, all you need to do is pick them up. It doesn't get any better then this. We will be back!

Perfect for all generations of our family
Once again we all loved this sprawling comfy lodge and already set a date for next summer's family reunion. It has absolutely everything a group aged 1 to 97 could desire. Loons to wake up and fall asleep to, beautiful lake views, delightful paddling and swimming, fabulous kitchen and dining room, great campfire pit and inside fireplace, lots of bathrooms, and loads to see and do in the area, including boat rides on Long lake and a private chartered cruise on Sebago Lake. Can't recommend it highly enough. Stephanie is also wonderful to work with.

Fabulous Lakeside Reunion Site
Our family group of 16 (ranging from 2 to 96 years) had our best reunion ever at The Christmas Tree Inn (and we've spent weeks in several different New England states over the last 7 years!). In fact, before the week ended, we made a unanimous and enthusiastic decision to return in 2017, and confirmed our summer reservation with the owners. I agree with all the observations of other reviewers, so won't reiterate what a fun lodge it is to be in, how gorgeous the setting, how helpful the owners, how many things there are to do in the area, etc.! Some of our very favorite things? All sitting around the long table in the dining room and singing together after meals, with our portable keyboard set up facing the water. Canoeing and fishing after supper and listening to the loons. Scattering around the place to do our own things - reading outside on the dock, porch and beach, playing lawn games, sacking out on the couches in the living room, making personal pizzas in an assembly line in the huge kitchen. As others have said, you never feel you are on top of each other with so much space. The owner stopped by while we were there and made sure all our questions were answered. She was wonderful. I highly recommend this lodging!

MEMORIES!
My Mother and Father, 40 years ago, started a tradition with their 6 grown children. Vacationing one week a year all together. We started off in homes in Maine that were much smaller and as all our families expanded we needed a bigger place. My Father finally found this home about 21 years ago! There were 29 of us then. We loved this home! Lots of room, clean and well appointed in all ways. We did only rent it two summers. Illness interfered. The owners were extremely kind and workable. I don't know if the people that own it now are the same owners as then, but we missed this home. My Father and Mother have both passed but the memories will never be forgotten! :) My siblings and I and all our families still do a reunion during the summer, but only for a weekend in July. I wonder if the owners now would consider renting for just a 3 day weekend! How wonderful would that be? I would so recommend this home to everyone! THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES! Maybe more in the future. :)

Summer visit, group of 18 adults, mostly from Texas.
Great facility, plenty of rooms and baths for a large group. The lake is beautiful and there is a place where you can rent a boat and they deliver it to the lake. Large dining area overlooking the lake with a game area with card table. The kitchen is well furnished with plenty of refrigerator space for a large group. There is a great campfire area and horseshoe pit. This is a great place!

Loved our winter vacation at the Christmas Tree Inn
We just returned from the Christmas Tree Inn. We packed the Inn to the brim and loved every minute of our time there. The Inn is so nostalgic and cozy. It's close to skiing, snow boarding and snow tubing. The kids loved walking on the ice out to the island and all the fun a snow storm can offer. There is plenty of room. We had over 30, mostly children, and we able to spread out and never felt as if we were on top of each other. It was fantastic! We can't wait to try it out in the summer!

WONDERFUL SUMMER VACATION!!
Great Property!! The Inn had everything we needed for our group of 25 (+) people. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own private space, and the living areas were big enough for everyone to get together as a group. Not once did we feel cramped or feel like we needed more space for our group. Quite the opposite! The outside space is fabulous!! We spent most of our time sitting out on the large deck overlooking the lake, while the kids played in the sand and swam out to the floating dock. It is perfect for dogs, too – more than enough room to run and play. The fire pit was a great way to end the day. The spotlights were perfect at night, lighting up the fire pit and horseshoe area. Our room was perfect, comfortable bed, private bathroom and a gorgeous view overlooking the lake. All of the rooms have private bathrooms, which is ideal when traveling with such a large group. This was a perfect summer rental and it completely changed my views on traveling with a large group of people. We never felt cramped, or crowded, and we loved every minute of our stay, and I can only imagine how wonderful the Inn would be in the winter with the enormous stone fireplace to sit around after skiing. We will defiantly be return guests to your property, and will recommend the Christmas Tree Inn to anyone we know looking for a group rental! We can’t thank you enough! Highly recommend!

Wonderful Time!
Charming rustic adirondack Inn. Really family friendly, lots of room. You can either be together or retreat to your own room with a bathroom, awesome! Great stone fireplace, huge. Lots of interesting history mementos about the Inn and a big diningroom where the family can eat together. We stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time, great value when you divide the cost between mutiple families. Lots of hiking, great outlet shopping in no-tax New Hampshire and the lake is quiet, beautiful and really clean. We'll be back next year!

The property is owned by two families that have grown quite large over the generations. The Christmas Tree Inn has been a wonderful place for holidays and family gatherings over the years.

Why they chose this property

The property was purchased in 1962 by a brother and sister whose mother was sick. They wanted to have a place where both of their large families could gather with their mother. The property in Bridgton worked because of its proximity to a local hospital as well as to Portland ME. Since then it has been a gathering place for all of the children and their families for skiing, boating, shopping and celebrating. The Christmas Tree Inn has seen numerous wedding ceremonies and receptions, family reunions, birthday parties and annual gatherings of families and friends.

What makes this property unique

The Christmas Tree Inn is located in a wooded association perfect for the quiet morning walk or run. 5 Minutes to Shawnee Peak Ski Area, 1/2 hour to the outlets of North Conway, NH. 15 minutes from the Fryberg Fair in October, many restaurants in area, 5 minutes to golf at Bridgton Highlands Country Club.
