We stayed in Bristol for 2 nights with two other families and had a great time. The house was spacious and clean. There was lots to do inside and outdoors! I would recommnend to anyone looking for a place to kayak, get out on the river with their family & friends!
The place was gorgeous, clean, and all kinds of things included to provide entertainment from kayaks, to a game room, hot tub, fire pit and more. Would definitely stay again!
Nice place on the river. Comfortable and spacious. A few bad things, a few feet off a main road and vehicle noise. A salvage yard literally across the street, no screens on the windows so cant open due to bugs.
Our family of 12 stayed here and had a wonderful time! Lots to do, cozy location, plenty of dining options nearby… we can’t say enough. In addition, the manager was very responsive to any questions that came up. Lots of great memories were made and we look forward to coming back again.
Our family had a wondeful time relaxing in the hot tub, on the deck, and down by the river. Rooms and beds were comfortable and spacious. Had to bring our own awning to go over the hot tub, as it is out in the open. Not a bad thing to say about this rental, and if we do come back to the area, will definitely
stay again.
This was one of the best properties we have stayed at. There was everything we needed there, likd pots, pans utensils, we did not need to supplement any kitchen items or any items period.
Very clean and bright, great views, comfy seating and wonderful mattress. We will be staying here again!
We had such a great time at this house it’s very relaxing on the river and the house is very clean
We had fun playing cards ,watching movies and enjoying the wildlife. The kids had a good time fishing.
Great location with a game room, jacuzzi, kayaks, fishing, and fire pit. The whole family had plenty to do during the entire stay. Beautiful views are a constant. I would highly recommend booking this property.
My sisters and sister-in-laws really enjoyed our time here at this house. The view of the river with all the ducks and birds waa so neat. We were celebrating a birthday. The hot tub was great.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this river retreat! The owners were very nice and responsive to any questions or issues we had. It was a family reunion with all ages and we all enjoyed it! The house right on the river was so relaxing. We got to do some fishing, although not the best location on the river to fish. We loved the fire pit and use of the pontoon boat and hot tub! Would definitely recommend this house!!
We decided to try the Shipshewana area for our family vacation and so glad we chose this house! The owners were very quick to respond and respectful of any questions we had. The views are amazing and the activities available at the house satisfied my large group of age range of 20 months to 61 years old. Kids caught fish, kayaked, and played games. We also rented the pontoon boat which was well worth it. I would recommend staying at this property for making good family memories.
Everything was great. The only downside is the house is located pretty close to the street. Traffic noise was noticable. The back of the house is incredible with peaceful views of the river. You feel totally secluded and immersed in nature.
House was updated and clean. Great place to stay!
Very clean, updated property stocked full with supplies and amenities. Just fyi, the river’s current makes the bank unsuitable for wading for small children, but luckily ours got their water fix in the spacious jacuzzi. Older teens and adults however had several kayaks to choose from (8 I believe). There was an air pump, poker chips, bags (corn hole), fishing gear, crock pots (these were some of the things we brought unnecessarily).
Overall, very relaxing and serene location that was easily enjoyed on the inviting deck.
This was the perfect place for an extended stay (3 weeks). The house was well stocked, very clean, and with plenty of space and beds for all.
The house stayed warm in sub zero temps, which was important for these Florida residents! :)
The kids especially enjoyed the game room, while the adults loved having coffee by the wall of windows overlooking the river, complete with stunning views of snow and wildlife. (We were thrilled by the beaver that swims back and forth in front of the back porch!) The hot tub was a lovely addition.
The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly and checked in with us every so often to make sure we had everything we needed.
Overall, we'd give 10 stars if we could. We will carry fond memories of this trip with us and will return to this River Retreat if we can!
We loved the River retreat house especially the river! The views were awesome and the house had its privacy. We took the kayaks down river and put in at the park right in Bristol and pulled out right at house. It was the highlight of the trip. As the listing states there is 8 kayaks but there was only 7 paddles and 7 life jackets, one being for a small child.
We saw a ton of wildlife just sitting on the wrapped around deck. The kitchen has all the amenities you need to prepare meals. There is AC in every room, however the one in the living room is sort of loud. Think ‘phone off the hook’ sound, but since we were outside most of our trip it wasn’t distracting at all. The Hot tub was clean and warm when we arrived. The Ski ball table in the game room doesn’t work. The house comes with tons of firewood so you definitely won’t be running out to buy more. We loved our stay and would totally book again!
This was a very nice house. It was clean and not cluttered. There were plenty of extras and it was well stocked with utensils,, linens and paper products for a group of people. The dart board and basketball were favorites for us all. It was freezing outside, but we still managed to enjoy the hot tub, which worked very well. The deck is awesome! The property owners were in communication with us when needed. They were easy to access and addressed all my questions. Would stay again. Thank you so much
