1st time visit

We saw the property last year as friends were staying here. Loved the large rooms and setup. So we stayed here with our friends this year. We enjoyed the convenient location to downtown Dunedin and to the Bluejays Spring training baseball field. We've booked for another stay next year!

Get way trip

Location was excellent. The property was fantastic. The only problem the mattress on the bed was very soft. I wish I would’ve known I would’ve opted for another room with a harder mattress.

All the comforts of home

The property is perfect! It is nestled in downtown Dunedin with walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the water.Dunedin has a wonderful downtown market on Saturday with food and music. The property provided bicycles for us to use. There are bike paths all over Dunedin which we thoroughly enjoyed. We love sitting on the front porch and relaxing. We would love to come back again and bring our family with us.

25th Anniversary Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the location which was so close to the Main Street shops, the Pinellas Trail and the waterfront area. We took advantage of the bikes and rode the Pinellas Trail to Honeymoon Island. We highly recommend the property and are already looking forward to our next stay.

Perfect Getaway

We truly enjoyed everything about our stay. The location can’t be beat…a quiet street just a short walk to downtown and right by the Pinellas Bike Trail. The house was welcoming, the room clean and comfortable, and Jennifer was delightful. We will definitely stay here again.

Best Location!

Great location on one of the prettiest streets in Dunedin. Lovely guest home with fabulous kitchen and porch. Our room was spotless, the bed is very comfortable. Check-in was easy. Jennifer, our host, is very quick to respond and made sure we had everything we needed. Love the Octopus Garden out front!

Shannon Oak great stay

I enjoyed the 2 night stay in the Honey Suite at the Shannon Oak house. The location is optimal. The king bed was comfortable, and the room was well cleaned and appointed nicely. Enjoyed riding down the Pinellas trail on the bike - walking to the Crafts fair on Main St. and relaxing on the porch w a morning coffee.

Chilly Weather, Warm Stay

Lovely home in the heart of Dunedin. Close to all downtown attractions. The weather was unusually cool but a few extra layers and we were able to walk around and see everything. Jennifer was a great host. Our suite was warm and cozy- very comfortable bed. The common area was also very nice. We had a great time!

Perfect Location

Loved our stay at the Shannon Oak Manor. Was great to have a full kitchen to enjoy as a common area. Location was ideal as it was just a block from the Pinellas trail for running, walking and biking. Easy walk to restaurants, coffee shops, and some great ice cream shops. Nice quiet area of Dunedin. Parking was only a challenge on a Saturday when there was a festival. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again, and hope to do so.

Perfect home and hosts

This home is perfectly welcoming. Jennifer and Kyle are awesome hosts and the write up only skims the surface of how beautiful this home is. From the perfect cup of coffee to the gourmet kitchen to the quiet evenings on the verandah, we loved our stay. Dunedin is a delightful place and everything is within easy reach from this home. A gem of a house in Dunedin!

This home is a delightful old house with character! We enjoyed sitting on the front porch rockers listening to the birds, drinking our coffee. We enjoyed chatting with the owners - Jennifer and Kyle - and they made our stay a pleasure. They offered suggestions of places to eat and drink and we appreciated that and tried most of their suggestions! Bikes were available to use. The Pinellas Bike Trail is 1/2 block away - and that is a must do for anyone who is able. TD Ballpark is an easy walk from the home also. 10/10 recommendation for this lovely home!

Honey Suite

Jennifer (the host) and her mom (maintains the premises) are AMAZING. We just love them. My wife and I enjoyed the property 100% - we don’t think it gets much better, and the price was VERY competitive. We never had to use our car, because everything is within walking distance, yet the house is tucked into a neighborhood where you feel off the beaten path - it’s just perfect! After this experience, we will gladly stay at Jennifer’s other properties. The only reason I gave 3 stars (instead of 5) for the accuracy of the listing, is because we were under the impression that we were going to be alone in the house. As it turns out, while you do have access to the entire house, everything is shared space except your bedroom. There are 5 or so bedrooms, so you could possibly be sharing the house with up to 4 other parties, all competing for living room, kitchen, and porch space. There were 2 other parties there while we were there, but they were either out all the time or stayed in their rooms, because we rarely saw them and ended up having the house to ourselves anytime we were in the common spaces. The best way to describe the rental is “A Bed and Breakfast Without the Breakfast.” Truly, the experience in the house was amazing, just be aware that your only guaranteed private space is your bedroom - you have access to the whole house, but you could be sharing it with up to four other parties. Our particular experience, though, was wonderful!!

Comfortable and convenient stay!

Our stay was amazing! Beyond providing a clean and comfortable place to stay (and in a super convenient location), the little details and extras were fun and appreciated! Everything we needed to make our stay easy, from a full toiletries basket to beach towels and sunscreen, were provided. The “nightcap” decanter and glasses were fun and unique. There was plenty of convenient street parking in front of the house. The location is so close to downtown that we ended up leaving our car parked the whole time we were there and easily walked to all of the shops, restaurants, breweries, and parks that make Dunedin unique.

We are the Houston’s – Kyle, Jennifer, Harper, and McKenna. Not so long ago, we took an adventure from Disneyland to Disney World. We arrived in Tampa and feel in love with the people, the culture and the pristine water views. Needless to say, we never left.

There is nothing more important than the time we spend together. Knowing that Shannon Oak Manor plays a part in building lasting memories for people just like you, is a gift we can’t describe.

Our sincerest hope is that we do meet you. And the time you spend inside this beautifully preserved home is something you, your loved ones, or your colleagues will cherish for years to come.

Why they chose this property

One step inside this beautifully restored 1915 home you will be taken back in time. True to its original American craftsmanship, Shannon Oak Manor has been the home of five families. From the French-style doors that cascade out to the spacious wrap around porch to the original wood features complemented by modern upgrades, this is an experience you’re not going to find anywhere else.

The popular downtown district is one block from the house. Enjoy outdoor eating, local live music, or capture amazing sunsets. With its cobblestone streets you can experience the casual life of a gulf coast community just minutes from the number one rated beach in the USA. The “stay local” mentality has created a culture of inspired dishes that will satisfy the foodie inside all of us. No corporate chain restaurants here!

The famous Pinellas Trail, a 37-mile-long bike trail, runs right through downtown. Live like the locals and make a day of the trail visiting the local breweries, public parks, and unique cuisine.
