Yearly sister getaway

The good -The view was AMAZING! Property was super quiet (it was the off season) and plenty of room for my sister and me. The outdoor seating was comfortable and it was nice to sit outside regardless of the weather. We ate at the restaurant at the golf course several times and got something different each time. It was great each time! The bad - A lot of things were closed including the little “convenience store”, the ice cream shop, and kayak rentals. Couldn’t access the indoor pool area without calling someone. It was the first week of October which I understand is the “off season” but I feel like we should’ve been told things were closed. The beds had plastic mattress covers on them which were loud when we moved around and made my sister and me sweat like crazy. I ended up sleeping on top of all the covers just to try to get away from the plastic. The a/c air filter was basically nonexistent and the smoke detector had been removed from the unit. Someone had clearly splashed sauce or something up the kitchen wall/ceiling and no one cleaned it. There were clothes (belonging to someone else) left behind in the dresser which shows another example of lack of cleaning/attention to detail. No real decor - very bland/not welcoming. The only real sitting space was the couch which was just a traditional 3-person couch. Fireplace was confusing to turn on and when I contacted the property manager/owner, she didn’t really know anything about it. No extra towels or kitchen sponge.
