Little Brown House
Great location, close to the beach and town. House and furnishings a little tired and could use a face lift. WiFi worked well but there was no cable as advertised. Bring your own water unless you like well water!

Great location! Needs a little TLC. Getting a little tired and worn. Some clean rugs and a new shower curtain would help. Also, need more than two sets of towels. Could be a really great place to stay otherwise.

ROACHES! Not Clean and No Refund in Sight!
First, let me start this review by saying that I have been very patient with Vacasa during this process, but it is nearly a month after they promised a refund for our stay. We stayed here last year, you can probably go back and find my other review. Last year, the house was clean, well maintained, fresh mulch outside, well stocked. We came back because we loved the location. This year was NOT good. Upon entering the rental we were met with an intense chemical smell, not as clean, over grown weeds by the fire pit. It looked like it had just been left abandoned. After our first night my husband was sitting on the couch and saw a few tiny bugs. He investigated and found they were baby roaches. NOT wood roaches, but the nasty kind. There were 5 of them on the walls. Which means the smell was roach spray driving the roaches up and on the walls. Where there are babies, there are adults. We caught one, I have photos. We called right away and told them we were leaving and we wanted a refund for our stay. Faith D from Vacasa on June 25 promised me a refund with in 3-5 business days. It is now July 17 and there is no refund in sight. The only other response was from KC on July 13 saying “local team is working on updates”. I warned them in my responses that if a refund was not issued, then I would leave this review. I warn you not to stay at this location. Vacasa, you owe me a refund.

Perfect Location, Unique and Beautiful Spot
This house feels like a private treehouse in the woods—even though you’re right next to neighbors and downtown Glen Arbor. We loved having this central hub from which we could walk to the beach, stroll to dinner, head a few blocks over to jump into kayaks, and bike through the national lakeshore. It’s a perfect getaway for two.

Charming and perfect for two people
We loved our stay here. The location is perfect, very near both the lake and downtown. I also liked how the house is set back from the road, in a wooded area. I would get up in the morning and, with windows open, could hear so many birds singing, which was lovely. Kitchen worked well for us, and we cooked several meals there. I don't know how the house would be during a really hot week, but we had mild weather and the combination of the fans and many windows and screen doors kept everything perfectly comfortable. The house does have hard water, with a slight taste to it. We ended up buying a couple gallon jugs of water for drinking during the week. We plan to stay here again.

Basic Cozy Cabin
Nice location and able to walk to all the places in town we love to go to. This property is a bit older and dated but still works. The water is very hard - just a warning for those who have blonde or color-treated hair. I had to do a mineral treatment on my own hair once I got home and I only washed it twice while staying here (I’m a former hairstylist so that helps!). Overall a cozy place to stay for a few days.

Love this location!
I took my 12 year old son here for his birthday. It was the PERFECT location! It’s a very very short walk to the beach and to town. The house was the perfect size for the two of us. The high ceilings with sunlights made the house bright and open. The neighbors are very friendly and gave advice on places to see. We visited during the off season but still had so many things to do and see. I was contacted by text messages to be sure our stay was going well, which was thoughtful and appreciated. It was comforting to know that help was available if we needed it. I can’t say enough good about this house and the location. We hope to stay again!

Disappointed with Vacasa management
The main reason for my negative review is that I expected better from the folks that manage the property. I regrettably left a pair of earrings I'd received from my partner on our first anniversary on the bedside table at this cabin. I called Vacasa within hours of our departure to let them know. I tried calling the local office, but they kept rerouting me to the central call center, so I never got to talk to anybody nearby. After several days of calling, I finally got an update that they were "never found." I know I left them, I know exactly where I left them, and I know that the team had all of that information the day that I checked out. There's either been a mismanagement of the process or some unfortunate dishonesty, and either way it means I've lost an item that's sentimentally important to me. As for the property itself: it's well-located, but extremely hard to find if you're arriving at night. Be alert for that.

Suggestions
We enjoyed our stay but a few things were missing that would have made it better. There were no cloth dish towels or hand towels for the kitchen. There was a hair dryer even though I had called and been told there was not one in the unit. A floor lamp near the dining table would have been nice -- puzzles & games after dark were a challenge (we moved another lamp from behind the couch but someone reading a book there was out of luck. A recycling receptacle would be nice. Perhaps more hangers since there was no dresser to hold clothes. There was an issue with staining of white shirts that were washed -- didn't happen to all items--think maybe it was the hard water. These were just things we thought we would share.

Great location. Short walk to the beach of to town. Beach was divine. Close to heritage bike trail that leads Grand Haven, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Empire. Kitchen was well equipped and near by restaurants were great. Water is iron-y and the pressure was low in the kitchen but fine in the shower.

Little Brown House, Glen Arbor, MI
Location, loads of natural lighting & sky lights, cozy & comfortable inside for 2 or less. Short walking distance to scenic beach, village shops & restaurants. Short drives to great hiking trails & Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. Shortcomings: was NOT stocked with aluminum foil, plastic wrap nor brillo pads, nor shampoo & conditioner. Well water is hard & tainted with iron which stained white laundry. Roof was noisy during a rainy nite, making it hard to sleep.

A lovely home near the beach
This is a perfect vacation home for a couple. So many places have multiple bedrooms, but a couple who wants something other than a B and B, that's too much space. We were delighted to have this small option--one bedroom, a bath, and living area. Because we came in September not having A/C was ok; the ceiling fan and the small bedroom fan worked well in temps that didn't get over the mid-70's. (Had the temperatures been higher, not having A/C would have been a negative, hence the 4 stars and not 5.) When we arrived the house was very clean and ready. We had a concern about the tricky door locks and texted the management service. We got a quick reply that someone would check on that, but no one every did. The street was quiet, and we felt we had plenty of privacy. The beach and the town were both close. Definitely a charming getaway for two!
