About this property
Bar Harbor House in town owned by local family Acadia entrance around the corner
Bar Harbor House is newly constructed, spacious, and at the edge of downtown. The house is a 5-minute drive to Acadia National Park entrances, Carriage Roads, and waterfront. Eagle Lake Road is known for frequent sightings of Bald Eagles and Peregrine Falcons nest nearby. Kebo Valley Golf Course is just across the street from the Bar Harbor House. Kebo Valley is the 8th oldest golf course in the United States. Traces of historical influence are notable and have been preserved. Conveniently located with parking for two/three vehicles helps to avoid searching for parking spaces, meter fees, and frustration. There is a secure garage for storing bikes, kayaks, fishing supplies, golf gear, and more. The Bar Harbor House will accommodate up to 8 guests and is a special place for family and friends to be together. Many lasting memories are made here! My family is six generations with a lot of local history and stories to tell. Family lightkeepers include Jaurel and Nana Belle Pinkham on Egg Rock Light at the entrance of Bar Harbor. Special and hidden areas of Acadia are well known and local tips willingly shared!

Amazing location— ~20 min walk to town and~15 min drive to Acadia hikes
Deborah went above and beyond to host us even setting us up with some starter groceries and a bunch of recommendations. House is clean and comfortable. Would certainly recommend!
Deb and Dan go above and beyond! This home was beautiful, clean, spacious and stocked with anything you may need for your stay. We would
definitely rent this home again if we were visiting the Bar Harbor Area.
House is in a great location! Easy walk to downtown Bar Harbor to shopping and restaurants. Minutes to Acadia and Cadillac Mtn. Kebo Valley golf course is across the street, friendliest pro shop and locals we've come across. House is so welcoming, the hosts have thought of every detail. Our expectations were exceeded with meals and drinks waiting for us. Extremely clean, comfortable beds, safe neighborhood. Guitars and games provided for entertainment. Deb and Dan are exceptional hosts from booking and throughout the stay. Itineraries, best restaurants, hikes and local history are provided by the hosts. We'll be back. Thank you for a memorable stay ❤️
I booked this house for the location and got so much more! We were five adults and I wanted a place where we could SAFELY bike to the carriage roads in the park. Not only was this the house for that, we could walk to town and did regularly. Our host had groceries in the fridge waiting for us! The house was clean, well appointed and very comfortable. After long days in the park, we came home and lounged - yes lounged - in the many recliners with cup holders in the living room and watched the US Open. We’ve never been so spoiled. More than five stars and would book again!
We loved our time spent at Deb and Dan's Bar Harbor home. They were amazing, gracious hosts and we could not have asked for a better place to stay. It truly felt like a home away from home and the location was perfect, so close to Bar Harbor and all that Acadia has to offer. I can't wait to book our next stay with them! Thank you so much Deb and Dan! :)
We stayed at The Bar Harbor House with our family of five. The home was spacious and immaculate. The attention to detail that the owner provided was amazing. Maps, magazine and pamphlets left by Deb allowed us to make decisions about where to visit and where to eat so easy. The kitchen was stocked with everything you would need. The bathrooms as well as the home was newly renovated. The location was so close to town and the park. We had a wonderful time!
The house is great, clean and well stocked. Awesome location... walk into Bar Harbor, short ride into Acadia. Perfect spot for a family wanting to spend a lot of time in Acadia.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the home. There was plenty of room for my family of five, was in a great location, and was very clean. The host was very easy to communicate with and made our stay enjoyable. The fridge was stocked with some food for arrival, and many other items are provided as well. We hope to return and would definitely stay in this home again.
The house was perfect for our family get-together. It was a newer house and spotlessly clean. Deb left it stocked with toiletries and other supplies that I would never have thought of and haven't experienced in another rental home.
We found the location convenient. It is close to downtown and the park, but it is a few blocks away from the traffic congestion.
Deb and Dan are friendly and gracious hosts. They were easy to communicate with and so helpful. Being locals, of many generations, they are a wealth of information about the area. They went above and beyond for my family. Our flight was delayed two days due to the IT issue and we were arriving late in the evening. Deb and Dan left a lasagna dinner for us in addition to breakfast, snacks and condiments. It was so appreciated after a horrible travel experience.
I can't say enough about the house or the amazing hosts!
Our family had a very enjoyable time visiting the Bar Harbor area. We visited Acadia NP many times during our stay, enjoyed the seafood, Farmers’ Markets, watched a sunset from Cadillac Mtn, even went to Campobello NP in Canada one day. The LuLu Lobster boat tour was especially enjoyable for our family. We were happy to have a home with air conditioning as some days were above normal temps !! Only surprise we had, was the 20 steps up stairs from garage area to living area level. Our hosts were fantastic with providing some food & condiments, plus all cooking supplies we needed !!
This is a lovely house with a Wonderful Host. Here are our Pro's and Cons of the house. Even with the cons, we still think this is a 5 Star house.
Pro's:
* Deborah is wonderful to work with. She was very helpful with booking and offered suggestions on many things to do in the area. She checked in with us during the stay to see if we needed anything.
* House was Super Clean.
* The house was well stocked. There were many additional amenities not found in most rentals that were nice to have around, such as a First Aid Kit, dish & washing machine pods, lots of extra linens and even snacks.
* Host provided many maps and brochures about the area. We did not need to spend time waiting at the Visitor center since it was all right there.
* Parking was very easy and house was conveniently located.
* The house has window units in the all the bedrooms and living room. This was helpful on those hot days.
* Good location if you are driving into the park or to other parts of the island.
Cons: (for our family)
* The house is located on a main road into town so there was noise from the traffic. Some nights were busier than others.
* We did not think it was an easy walk to the Village Green and shopping area, but it was an easy drive. (You had to pay for parking in town)
Overall, I would definitely recommend this house if you are headed to Bar Harbor.
Saw property online. Very convenient to park & Bar Harbor. Deb easy to work with & contact if needed. Provided us with breakfast when found out we had travel delays. Would stay there again.
Wonderful property with a great location. Host provides for everything. Well stocked house . We used this as our base to explore Arcadia, and Maine coast
Amazing place with a great location. House stocked with all the little necessities that you could imagine… from spices and coffee to laundry soap and a first aid kit. House is new and very clean. The owners reached out and provided invaluable information and tips. Would definitely stay here again!!
We were very pleased with the property, new, location was close to down town. The owners have thought of everything you would want in a rental. So often, you have limited essentials and are spending time finding a store, not here. Just amazing. I’m particular about cleanliness and this was the best place I have stayed in. Most important, the owners were in contact from the beginning to the end. Very helpful and friendly! All new furnishings and soo comfortable!😀
This house was great for our vacation. It's close enough to downtown to do things there, but far enough away not to be affected by the crowds of tourists. Deb was always asking if we needed anything. The house has books of information about the island from a local's point of view. We loved our stay.
We enjoyed our stay and loved the convenience to both downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We stayed with 6 adults, 2 kids, and 1 infant and we all fit well! Deb and Dan were great resources and checked in to make sure we were enjoying our time. This is a very well stocked home! We cooked at home a few times and had everything we needed! Hope to come back again and would stay here again for sure.
Beautiful newly built 4 bedroom home conveniently located within a mile of Bar Harbor main district. Very close to the entrance of Acadia National Park as well. House was comfortably set up with plenty of linens, cooking and eating utensils and good supply of staples. Owner has maps, tourist information and restaurant guides available to use.
Where do I start as I can’t say enough good things about our stay at Bar Harbor House! When I stumbled upon this 4-bedroom fully refinished house, I thought there must be a catch! But everything was absolutely perfect - even better than the pictures! It was beautifully decorated and the beds were so comfortable! And the kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with everything we needed and more.
Deb is the most wonderful host - she is both thoughtful and gracious. Deb reached out prior to our arrival to see if we had any questions and provided very useful suggestions to help in planning for our trip. Then she followed-up after we arrived asking if we any questions about the area or concerns with the house. Deb immediately felt like family! We really enjoyed the binder of helpful information and one with the history of the area.
The house is only a mile walk from the town of Bar Harbor; saving us the hassle of trying to find parking. And it was only two miles from the entrance of Acadia National Park - truly the perfect location!
My family and I made so many memories at the Bar Harbor House and look forward to returning.
We all agree that we it was the best home we rented by leaps and bounds.
Thank you Deb and Dan for helping us make memories to last a lifetime.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the home. The newly constructed home was spotless and the owner provided some much hospitality! We can’t thank Deb and Dan more. The location was seconds away from Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor, which made it super convenient for a 4am wake up to see the sun rise at Cadillac Mountain or for dinner along the water.
I can’t say enough good things about our stay at Bar Harbor House. We were booking a last minute rental and lucked out this was available for the 4 nights we needed. Deb reached out to me within minutes of booking since were were going to be arriving so soon. She provided me with helpful information and suggestions for planning our trip. She checked in with us after we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. The house was beautifully decorated and spotless and had every amenity we could possibly need. Deb thought of everything. She left binders of information about exploring the area as well as some interesting family history. I have three kids ages, 17, 16 and 11 and they all loved our stay in Bar Harbor. We only wish we had stayed longer. We hope to come back some day and would stay here in a heartbeat.
Deb was incredibly welcoming and the house is stocked with anything that you can possibly need. It was spacious for our group of 3 families. The location can't be beat -- close enough to walk or bike into town and near the entrance to the carriage trails.
We come to Bar Harbor every year and I plan to be back to Deb's house!
Deb our host was fantastic. Place was well stocked with everything anyone would need. If you forget anything she has it. Clean and spacious home. Deb was very helpful in directing us to out of the ordinary sights which were excellent. Recommended restaurants, sights to see, etc were all great. Walking distance to downtown which is nice because you can take the shuttle. The parking in the Park if you get there a bit late in the am can be a bit of a struggle.
This home is wonderful! The home is newly renovated, very comfortable furniture, lots of bedrooms, well appointed with all kitchen, bed, bath supplies you could ever need. Deb has thought of everything and the home is super comfortable and perfectly located to walk into town or a short drive to Arcadia. Our family of 4 had more than enough room and really enjoyed our stay. We highly recommend and would love to come back!
I don't usually write reviews but in this case I feel I must thank Deb for her generous hospitality. We arrived to find the house was not only spotless but stocked with all the essentials. We were happy to pay it forward by leaving behind some of the additional items we picked up. The location was perfect for our group's interest in both time at the park and shopping in town. Deb is a great host with plenty of insider tips for first time visitors to the area. I would definitely recommend staying here and would stay again.

Why they chose this property
Eagle Lake Road is appropriately named for all the right reasons! We often see eagles and falcons flying overhead and nesting nearby. Deer, wild turkeys, and other wildlife are frequently spotted in the back yard. Bar Harbor House is on the edge of downtown and is an easy 10 minute walk to the village. Bar Harbor House is located in the neighborhood where I grew up. Many of my family members and friends still reside there.
What makes this property unique
What makes our house unique is feeling welcome and immediately comfortable when you arrive. Enjoying the island and time with loved ones will leave unforgettable experiences and cherished memories. We are centrally located within 5 minutes of Acadia National Park entrances, Carriage Roads, Kebo Valley Golf Course, and waterfront. You can easily walk into town and not worry about parking. The back yard is a cross road for deer, turkeys, and other wildlife. The Bar Harbor House is fully stocked. There is no need to stop and shop along the way. You will have plenty of startup groceries and a meal waiting when you arrive. There are brochures, maps, local information, and current island activities available at the house. Avoiding congested Acadia National Park Visitor Centers means more time for fun!
