Tucked away at the end of a road in the mountains of Waynesville, our cabin’s stunning exterior will be noticed at first glance. Starting at our wrap-around deck to take in the awe-inspiring views, our cabin will check all your boxes.
Through the front door, you’re greeted with a wide open living space, comprised of our living room and dining room, designed not only for style, but to allow for maximum comfort.
Our living room has a 65 inch flat-screen TV, Roku enabled, ready for every streaming service you can imagine. (We are BYOL - bring your own login) In our cozy coffee table you will find several of our favorite board/table games to play as a group if you choose. The main couch turns into a pull-out, full-sized bed, that is comfortable enough to sleep two adults if needed.
Our dining space has a solid-wood dining table with 4 chairs and a bench that can seat 6 people comfortably, allowing you to enjoy that home-cooked meal when desired on vacation.
Speaking of home-cooked meals, our kitchen is fully stocked with brand new appliances, pots and pans and all the essentials needed to cook a great meal. (Salt, pepper, oil, can opener, blender, etc.)
As people who enjoy a good cup of coffee, we have both a Keurig in addition to a French press, with both K Cups and grounds, as well as tea, cream and sugar.
On one side of the cabin we have one of the living quarters, a recently renovated full bath right across from our cozy “Mountain Room”, paying homage to the Blue Ridge Mountains, which has a full closet, memory foam queen bed, a dedicated mini-split AC unit and all the accessories needed for a comfortable stay.
On the other side of the cabin you will find our “Forest Room”, with green accents, that is sure to bring a tranquil environment to your stay. Fitted with a memory foam king bed, a dedicated mini-split AC unit, a massive closet, as well as a small desk for those that plan on spending any time working. This room also has a very roomy and comfortable folding queen bed and mattress that we keep stowed in the closet until it's needed for use. It fits comfortably in the room when in use (refer to pictures for reference). This room also has its own fully renovated full bathroom right across the hallway.
Also on this side of the house is another exterior entrance, leading to the other side of the deck, as well as a full washer and dryer unit that you are more than welcome to use, allowing you to go home with clean clothes! We provide a couple (2) of Tide Pods for your use per stay. If you wish, you are welcome to bring your own detergent to do a few more loads.
Lastly, what we think is the crown jewel of our property, the outside space. Centered around a massive deck, we have 6 comfortable lawn chairs you are welcome to move around to the fire pit, the yard and the deck. Facing North, take in the view at sunrise or sunset overlooking the mountain range right in front of you. We have a brand-new gas grill that you are welcome to use, PLEASE make sure of two things when using the grill:
1. Always give the grill a quick clean after use (scrubbing the grates and a quick wipe down is sufficient)
2. FOR SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS: Please triple check that the propane is turned off BEFORE putting the grill cover back on.
We also have a Corn Hole set as well as a large, wooden Connect 4 game that will bring fun to everyone in your party.
There is a fire-pit just to the right (East) of the house, that you are welcome to use. Feel free to bring your own firewood, or collect any around the property that is already on the ground. Please, DO NOT chop down any of the live trees/plants.
Guest access
While we certainly aren’t quite in the “boonies” as we have a couple of neighbors within approximately 100 yards of our house, this is certainly a more secluded/rural part of town.
Given that, access CAN BE, at times, tricky. The last 1/4 mile of the road up to our cabin is a gravel/dirt road that can be challenging, ESPECIALLY during snow/ice/heavy precipitation. While we have personally made it up the hill in both a smaller sedan, and a rental mini-van, we would recommend having a 4WD/AWD vehicle. When we personally use the cabin in the winter time (Dec, Jan, Feb), we will only bring our 4x4 full-size truck.
As we mentioned, we are on 2.5 acres of NC mountain, so you are welcome to explore the property at your own risk, however please exercise caution. A lot of our land is located directly beneath the property heading down towards the main road. This is a very steep mountainside that could potentially be dangerous, we advise staying off of that part of the property and ensuring kids do the same.
Other things to note
Our home is equipped with high-speed internet, which is for the most part both fast and reliable. However, it can randomly cut out from time to time, I guess part of being in the mountains.
Also, while we personally have never seen one, there have been bears spotted in our area. We also get elk, gophers, bobcats and lots of other wildlife, please be mindful of this, and ensure that any trash that is taken to the outside can is locked securely with the lid.
Lastly and most importantly, have fun, enjoy your stay, and enjoy the beautiful area of Western North Carolina that we ourselves have come to love.
