About this property

Century-old log cabin! Hot tub, game room, firepit, 5 min from Pigeon Forge

Welcome to Greenwood Historic Cabin! Step back in time in this genuine, hand-built Smoky Mountain cabin. Nestled into the edge of the forest at the foot of Bluff Mountain, you'll be transported to a simpler time, close to nature and focused on family and friends. While experiencing the unique, old-time ambiance, you'll also enjoy modern comforts and amenities including the private hot tub, outdoor fireplace, game room, large screen TV, fast internet, and more.

As you enter Greenwood Cabin, feel the cozy embrace of the welcoming living room with its original stone fireplace and antiques, inviting you to settle in and enjoy a long, pleasant conversation with your loved ones, read a good book, or watch a movie. The 55" smart TV has free TV shows and movies, or you can enter the credentials for your favorite streaming service. A DVD library and player is also available.

Meander into the kitchen to create delicious meals, pop some popcorn, brew a cup of joe, or just skip the cooking and enjoy carryout at the kitchen table from your choice of hundreds of local restaurants. The decor will almost make you believe you've traveled back in time, but check out all the useful gadgets and appliances hidden away in the cupboards and drawers! It's a well equipped kitchen, with every pot and pan, plate, bowl, serving platter, and utensil you might need.

The two main bedrooms are furnished with queen sized log beds with the comfiest mattresses you can imagine. A common area in the back of the cabin has a twin sized antique bed with forest views. A clothes washer and dryer are available on site for your use, and there is flex work space for professional or school work. High speed internet is available throughout the property.

Outside the front door you can rock on the porch as you enjoy the woodland and mountain views. On the side deck, relax in the warmth of the private hot tub and then grill up a masterpiece and dine al fresco. Toast marshmallows over the fire in the outdoor fireplace and enjoy a game of corn hole on the side lawn. Amble over to the game room and play shuffleboard, giant Connect 4, Skeeball, pub games, board games, and more! The hot tub and game room are not shared by other properties.

Greenwood Historic Cabin is committed to sustainability. We offer eco-friendly soaps and shampoo, use LED light bulbs and other energy-saving features, and are currently re-wilding a portion of the property to reduce mowing and protect and encourage wildlife.

***GREENWOOD HISTORIC CABIN CAN BE RENTED IN CONJUNCTION WITH PROPERTY #3544651, "Chrome Sweet Chrome", a vintage Airstream caravan located next door, if you need more room or just want a fun place apart from the rest of your group. If a different group is renting the airstream, they do NOT have access to the hot tub or game room.***

There's a grocery store, two convenience stores, and a pizza/Italian food restaurant just half a mile from the cabin, so you needn't drive far if you need supplies or want a quick meal. A few miles further, there are many restaurants, as well as a Kroger and a Publix to choose from when you want to stock up the larder. The Welcome Book has a listing of nearby restaurants.

When you're ready to head out for local fun, there's a wide variety of amazing attractions in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Sevierville, just minutes away. Some of the closest attractions are listed below.

Peace & Relaxation

The cabin was very nostalgic and we enjoyed looking at all the antiques. Quiet area where we felt very safe. The lights on the porch at night were my favorite. Lots of extras in the house like appliances, hairdryer, etc....The view was very peaceful. Everything was very clean. Bill & Abby were wonderful hosts and easy to contact. We look forward to returning in the future.

Relaxing cabin

This cabin is adorable! It's very cozy and has everything you need. My 7 and 13 year olds loved the hottub and enjoyed the game room. We watched movies by the fireplace. Great location! Quiet and private, but close enough to everything. We went to Dollywood, the Island, and were there for games at the Ripken Experience. There is a little market, dollar general, gas station and good pizza place a minute away, too, which was very convenient. Great stay! Would love to go back!

Perfect stay

We enjoyed our time at the Greenwood Historical Cabin! Great location outside of town but convenient to everything! The cabin is exactly as described. Fully stocked with all of the essentials to cook a meal, enjoy a show on t.v, stare at the fireplace or sleep in a comfortable bed. Plenty of hot water and we used the washer/dryer during our stay. The game room was fun and my teenager loved it! Hot tub and patio area was wonderful after a long day exploring. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch relaxing and enjoying the mountain views. Felt like home away from home. Check in process was easy as can be. We would definitely come back to this cabin!

A perfect getaway

A friend and I came to the area to visit Dollywood and take in some baseball games at University of Tennessee. It was the perfect location for both - close to everything but tucked away and private. We loved the charm of the cabin, the ample space, the thoughtful amenities and the hot tub, which was truly fantastic. We can’t wait to come back!

Spring Break in the Smokies!

This cabin was fantastic for me and my friends' stay in the smokies for our senior year spring break. The hot tub was delightful, the cabin was cozy, and the game room was a lovely addition! If it were more than just the three of us, we might have struggled with only having one bathroom, but we managed just fine! We were close enough to society to buy groceries and sight-see easily, but far away enough that it felt like living in a secluded cabin. Definitely recommend for a fall/spring break trip in the future! :D

Excellent stay!

The stay was great! Great cabin and great location. Owners communication was awesome. Towels were left behind from last stay, so that is only reason cleanliness got one less star. But as soon as I let the owners know, they went above and beyond to fix it and make sure the rest of the stay was amazing!

Abby and Bill could not have been more accommodating when I asked to check-in a little early. This place is wonderful. The hot tub was a particular stand-out! About the host

Hosted by Abby & Bill Hillman

Host profile image
We're Abby & Bill, owners of Greenwood Historic Cabin. We've traveled all over the U.S., Europe, and parts of Asia, often staying in privately owned lodgings and enjoying the ambiance and amenities that a home-style stay provides. So we're delighted to host travelers who, like us, want an individualized experience--a home away from home. We're always available to answer your questions, and hope you have a wonderful stay here in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Why they chose this property

This neighborhood is deep within the mountains--at the foot of Bluff Mountain and with views of Hatcher and Piney Mountains through the foliage--while being very close to the Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg attractions. It's also a lovely drive to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Greenwood is easy to access without having to drive on any steep or narrow mountain roads. There are groceries, firewood, charcoal, and a few dining/takeout options less than a mile away.

What makes this property unique

This is one of the very few original, hand-made log cabins left in the Smokies. It has been lovingly restored, with luxuries and amenities added that bring it into the 21st century. It is tucked into the forest, so there's privacy and great views, but it's also close to the Pigeon Forge action.
