Large family of 15 enjoyed the space both inside and outside the home. Lots of fun on the water for everyone, and the tree house was esp fun for the younger ones.
The kitchen/eating area was well equipped.
Owner was quick to respond, and shared nearby hiking areas.
Enjoyed our time here.
We loved staying at the lake at Rena's Place. The house is enormous-with two well-equipped kitchens, lots of bedrooms and a great fire-pit overlooking the lake. Even in September, the water was warm enough to swim! Thank you!
We had our family of 12 here for a week of fun in the water. We brought our own boats and floats and this rental supplied us with numerous kayaks, canoes, paddleboards plus a 15' high inflatable slide that was the star of the show, especially for the under 60 folks.
The entire large family we brought had an amazing time. Beautiful property and great easy communication with the owner. Completely ready to stay, home feeling, quiet area was absolutely stunning. Nice beach for kids, with a gorgeous yard. It was great stay!!!
Rena’s Place has something for all your family members. The pond, water park, and water toys were so much fun. Plenty of room in the house for everyone to spread out. Highly recommended!
Our first trip to McGrath Pond. Beautiful spot on this lake great for swimming and kayaking etc. The inflatable water park combined with the dock was the absolute highlight! Kids played endlessly on the slide, trampoline and water craft.
Great stay for our family reunion!
The property itself was very nice, set up and space were great for our group. The dock and float were a big hit and having the watercrafts available was a bonus.
We did have a few minor glitches along the way but all were addressed by the owner pretty quickly and to our satisfaction. Over all a great place for a vacation, family gathering/reunion.
Thank you David for sharing this lovely lake house
David and his property managers were amazing. The property was perfectly located for our needs. We had Bald eagles on the ice in front of the house every day. The house had every amenity that you could wish for. We look forward to next year!
Outstanding communication with host Dave. The unlimited supply of firewood, paper products, kitchen supplies, towels, linens, etc was awesome. Loved the large deck on the water, the numerous water toys and easy sandy entry to the crystal clear water. Great space with 2 great kitchens, 3 frigs and 6 bedrooms. We have been traveling every year for the past 30 years and we have now found a beautiful home that checks all the boxes.
We visited with our four kids and they loved all the water toys! Awesome kayaks and paddleboards and they loved the mat attached to the dock. We pretty much spent the entire time outside. Every morning we drank our coffee on the dock while the kids played and we watched the sunset from the same spot. We used Trails.com and found many local walks and hikes as well. And the amazing blueberry bread waiting on the counter when we got in was such a homey, wonderful touch.
I can not recommend this property enough! The house is beautiful, and has everything you could ever need. The amenities were endless! My children loved playing on the Swingset and exploring the tree house. The beach area was perfect for swimming. My toddler was able to splash around in the shallow area next to the dock. The owners checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed and were quick to reply with any questions. You will not regret spending time at Tilton Point!!
Our group of 19 women (10 at this property, 9 at another) needed to stay near Colby College where we were competing in an athletic event. This was perfect! Location=gorgeous, on the water, short driving distance to Colby and necessary shopping. Amenities=everything we needed and more! We fixed and served dinners for all 19-there was plenty of room to eat, gather and make our trip a great bonding experience. Only 5-star ratings are available, but would give it a 10 if possible - highly recommended!
Thank you so much for letting us stay at your family home, it was beautiful!! Our group of 9 had a fantastic time, although the weather was a downer there was plenty to do inside. The open concept kitchen and living space made for a great time of just hanging out and eating great food..since we brought our chef friend along. The kitchen for that reason was a huge hit. There was plenty of space to cook and the center island in the kitchen was great for a buffet dinner! Can't wait to stay during the summer with the family. Thanks again!!!
The home and grounds are lovely. Not the typical Maine "camp", this is a real house with all the amenities and large enough to contain most of our family comfortably. The host was available and quick to answer questions throughout the week via text, which was appreciated. Plenty of refrigerator space is available (with 3 full-sized!), and kitchens both up- and downstairs. There are many water toys to enjoy and water deep enough to have a pontoon boat at the dock. With the homesite situated in a cove, the winds were much more pleasant than out on the larger lake. The fire pit (with plenty of split wood) was nice in the cooler evenings, and it is close to the house so you don't have to navigate the hill and steps to get to it in the dark. There are several entries/exits on the house so all could come and go without disturbing anyone else - a bigger deal than you might think! We had a great time at Rena's Place and are looking forward to coming again!
We planned this vacation for our troop of 8 adults and 6 kids, ages 3-10, for a year. We scoured the websites for just the right property to meet our family's preferences. We found the perfect location and accommodation at Rena's place on McGrath Pond. The zero entry sandy beach, the lily pad, float and water toys were the kids playground. The accommodations on the dock made for a relaxing oversight of the kids as they made some amazing "Cousin Crew" memories. We caught fish and hosted a couple turtles. The fire pit, fireflies and loon songs at dusk brought us all together for the perfect end of each amazing day. Our lobster and clam bake was well appointed with all necessary means to cook for several lobster first timers. The hosts were attentive and accommodating prior, during and after our stay. It was important to me to make this trip for our kids and their families relaxing and memorable. Dave and Dan provided that opportunity in their well-appointed, spacious and comfortable home. We will be back to this vacation gem! Thank you both.
Our family from CT and FL enjoyed our week on the lake. The boats, the dock, the water mat, the fire pit were all used with enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoyed by all. We caught fish and rays. The house accommodated all of us with its many bedrooms and 3 baths. The kitchen was well appointed and we cooked all our meals at the house. The pluses were many, Lori who was our contact was very responsive and accommodating. We arrived to a delicious batch of blueberry bread. The minuses.. we had a large rainstorm and there was a damp musty smell in the downstairs where 3 of the bedrooms are. The house needs updating and was not up to the standards we expected for the price. But plenty of supplies were on hand and we enjoyed being together so we overlooked the outdated kitchen and the need for some weeding.
Lori told us plans are in the works for updating next year. Would love to see it when it is done.
Great Accommodation and Quiet Location for Large Families
Beautiful, large house that was able to accommodate our family of 10 adults and 3 grandchildren. The separate basement living area with kitchen and 3 bedrooms was ideal for my daughter, son in-law and their small kids. Easy in and out for them when family was at the water.
Spacious kitchen accommodated all of us comfortably, and the outside dining table was great when we had lobster and didn't want a mess inside. Lovely garden and yard in the front with space for badminton. The kids loved the swing, too!
Lots of games available for indoor and outdoor enjoyment. The grandkids especially loved the extra large Connect Four set.
We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, and sunning on the floating dock - the water is so clear and clean! The water near the shore is not too deep with a sandy bottom, making it ideal for the grandkids to play safely in the water. We also enjoyed fishing and caught chain pickerel, small mouth bass, crappie, perch and blue gill.
The owner and property manager were very attentive to our needs as they arose, including dealing with over-flowing trash and recycle cans that were present in the garage on our arrival and keeping us abreast of when to expect power to come back on after it went out one evening due to a car accident in the area.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay and will consider returning .
Absolutely loved the area, the serenity of the pond, the set-up and layout of the house. We are a group of quilting friends and there was plenty of room with great lighting to sew, cook and relax. Excellent communication with the owner whose response to questions was immediate.
The house was beautifully situated in a cove. The water was easy to access and the dock gave a fantastic view! The house was perfect for what we wanted: many beds for sleeping, an open kitchen, dining area, living room with a view, lots of outdoor seating and a yard for games! It had everything we needed for cooking and preparing our food. It was also very easy to get to yet private and cozy. We really bonded as a team, had some great fires and conversation around the fire pit and even managed to get a little bit of work done together on our laptops!!
We had a wonderful time at this “camp”! I would hardly refer to this as a camp but noticed all of my Maine family called it that! The house is perfect for a large group with all the amenities, while still being spacious enough that no one would feel cramped. It was the perfect place to unwind and hang out with family. We really enjoyed evenings outside by the fire pit. I’d highly recommend a stay here.

Why they chose this property
Our family has owned this property for over 45 years which started out as just a rustic cottage where we spent our summers, to the home built on the 19 Acre property in 1992. Our families vacation in Oakland every year and enjoy the small town atmosphere and private less developed McGrath Pond.
