We enjoyed three nights at the cottage. It's beautifully decorated, comfortable, warm and welcoming - a perfect home base for nearby hikes and exploring the area. The large yard was perfect for playing soccer with our child. Renters note: we also had a fabulous meal at nearby restaurant Fern.
We had a nice stay at the Cottage. Beautiful property with owner conveniently nearby which was great for anything we needed, they were very responsive. Centrally located to downtown Sharon and close to neighboring towns of Millerton and Lakeville where there are great shops and restaurants as well. Pictures accurately represented the house.
Only complaint was it wasn’t as clean as I would have hoped. Also, the water was extremely metal smelling/tasting.
What a wonderful time we had in this beautiful cottage! The property is so idyllic and perfect for a country getaway. We couldn’t ask for more in this home & needed for nothing. The beds were comfortable and the decor was just beautiful!
The property owners were so friendly and very presponsive to any questions we had.
We were staying in the area because it is close to Lime Rock Park, where my son was racing. We will definitely be back to stay in this wonderful cottage!
Thank you for opening your home to our family.
This is a beautiful home in a very quiet and secluded neighborhood, yet very close to multiple great restaurants and and entertainment venues.
The house was perfect for our stay, with any amenities we could have wanted. the large backyard gave us a great space with no light pollution to watch a spectacular display of the Perseid meteor shower. We will hope to stay here again when we are back in the area
Great location. Very nice house. Well-appointed with thoughtful conveniences. Highly comfortable. Good value. Admirably communicative and responsive host/owner.
This was the perfect spot for our Lime Rock Historical Festival stay. Less than 15 minutes from the track and even closer to the beautiful downtown of Sharon, CT.
The house is in a beautiful location (the backyard is spectacular and is perfect for gorgeous sunsets) and every room is comfortable and well cared for. We didn’t need to use the kitchen, but it clearly has everything you would need for an extended stay. The bed in the main bedroom is very comfortable with pillows that ranged from soft to firm, so we were both satisfied!
Helen was terrific, providing all the necessary information to check-in and recommendations for some fabulous restaurants!
Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Had a lovely few days here - fully stocked kitchen, wonderful beds and wonderful linens. Fireplace working and comfortable living room. Just so comfortable and warm can’t wait to come back!
The cottage was perfect for our long weekend in the country. Helen was very responsive and the house was nicely decorated. The large yard and the open field beyond was perfect for our kids to play. We had a great time!
There are so many wonderful touches that made our stay this weekend so cozy and memorable. It was the perfect spot to enjoy a fire and each other’s company in comfort and surrounded but beautiful design. Our hosts were so responsive and accommodating. We look forward to returning.
Lovely property in a gorgeous part of CT. Helen was very easy to work with. Near Harlem Valley Rail Trail which is fabulous. Excellent restaurants in area. We had a great time all in all. Only suggestion: consider improving lighting in living room.
Its a shame to have to write this review, the property and home are quite lovely. However, it was by a mile the worst VRBO experience we've every had. There was no attention given to the home before we arrived. They were trying to clear the driveway as we pulled up, we had to wait in our car for them to finish. Unfortunately, it was so poorly done we had to walk on ice the entire time, and slipped many times.Upon arriving, it was missing so many basic supplies, or the supplies were about to run out. I messaged the host, who lives right next door btw, and waited hours to hear back. I had to go out to the store and stock the home myself, out of my pocket. As far as the kitchen goes, everything was shoved in the cabinets in disarray. The pots and pans had food and rust on them, we had to thoroughly clean all of them before using. On several occasions I tried messaging the host since so many things were missing and we needed them, every time it was hours before heard back and she provided some things while just telling she didn't have the other basic items. When I expressed dissatisfaction and enumerated the problems, she ignored the ones that were obviously indefensible and stated she had never had any issues before??? She made no effort to accommodate or fix the problems. Additionally, there were flagrant errors in the description of the property. No bed or sleeping option in the main area and no jacuzzi.Stay away from this host, there are much better options.
Our stay at this lovely, well appointed cottage was perfect. It is exactly as described and shown in photos. It is spacious with more than enough room for 4 adults and could easily accommodate two children as well on trundle beds. The kitchen is well equipped and we ate "in" two of our three nights. We especially enjoyed sitting in front of the fireplace watching a movie after a long day of skiing at nearby Mohawk. We didn't want to leave -- the cottage is a peaceful refuge in a lovely town with many other charming towns nearby. We hope to return!
Lovely house, lovely setting. Comfy beds. Frustrating total lack of wi-fi, TV, and cell coverage. Couldn't find toaster. No bathmat in master bath. Open food in fridge was off-putting. Door did not lock. These disappointments keep us from giving the highest rating for this price. We enjoyed the lovely gardens and the birds very much.
The property is better than its pictures!! There is lots of land to run about in behind the house. There is also a nice walk / hike around the property.
House sits on a quiet road, basically no traffic.
Fireplace and outdoor fire pit are welcome for city slickers up for the weekend!
So relaxing and quiet.
Very comfy beds and linens.
Well designed and appointed bathrooms.
We will 100% be back.
Thank you!
