Relaxing Retreat
Our stay at Kapaa Sands was picture perfect! The condo was located in an ideal setting with too good to be true ocean views right outside our door. We loved hearing the ocean all day and night and enjoyed being able to walk to several eateries nearby. The best kept secret is that Paradise Bakery is right across the street from the parking lot. The condo had everything we were looking for. The kitchen was full of all the gadgets and cookery that one would need. The staff was super friendly and the location made it feel like a private retreat. The pool is well maintained, laundry facilities adequate, and Josh the property manager was very nice. Living in the southern U.S. I was accustomed to AC but the open windows and fans kept the sea breezes flowing day and night. There was plenty of closet space, but the 2nd bedroom is very small and doesn’t get good airflow. It would be ok for a child or single person but I wouldn’t recommend it for a second couple. There are so many positives about this place! I would love to come here again and relax and recharge! Thank you for sharing this beautiful property with others.

Overall we enjoyed our stay in this condo. It is centrally located, we explored both sides of the island easily. The view was great. There are tide pools right out front, how ever the beach has a lot of debris making is a little hard to enjoy. The salt water pool was great. We cooked meals daily. Only basic, kind of worn out pots/pans were available. A baking sheet or roasting pan would be great for transporting food from the condo to the bbq area. The ocean breeze was nice, but a/c would be appreciated. Our first condo had a mini split system that worked great. Mahalo

Amazing Hawaiian Beach Home
Wonderful views with steps to the beach. Great surfing beaches nearby. Very quiet property and perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view. Go to sleep to the sound of the waves. Amazing pool and grounds. Very well kept up! Would highly recommend this place!

First time in Hawaii
Walking in to the place I can tell it’s a little outdated. But the moment to walk out the sliding door that’s where the magic is. We absolutely loved the small piece of beach we had rich in the backyard of the home. The neighbors were very kind and friendly.

A week in paradise
We stayed for the week in June 2024. It’s an incredible property. The view is breathtaking and insanely gorgeous. The house has everything we needed for the week and didn’t have to purchase anything special. The beds were comfy, bathroom and kitchen clean. It’s central in location to the store and some wonderful places to eat yet quite at night to be able to relax and enjoy the peace of being here. A great trip and will definitely be back to Kauai again. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely spot
Everything was great. The unit has its own yard area between it and the beach, which was really nice. The beach below is very interesting with all kinds of large logs deposited from the ocean and an area to walk on, a bit underwater, before you get to the edge of a tiny sort of cliff down to the surf. Easy walking distance to eating places, cafe, and a kayak rental place. The property is embedded within a wedge tailed shearwater colony with numerous ground nests and burrows. We were treated to the comings and going at sundown and sunrise every day.

Enjoyed our stay.
The property is in an excellent location to enjoy shopping and restaurants. A private shoreline with a beautiful view. The only downside was not having air conditioning. Other then that it’s ideal for a quiet relaxing vacation.

Wonderful hospitality, views, and location
Sharon was an absolutely wonderful host. She went above and beyond in so many ways. The property is central to shopping, bike trails, food, and easy to get in and out of. The views are spectacular. Though it’s not where we chose to spend our days (beach access, but not accommodating for our surfing activities), there are amazing beaches and attractions close by. It also was a great location to take a trip up to the north shore or over to Wanapepe or Waimea. Listening to and watching the waves right outside and main and second floor was breathtaking and soothing, especially at night. The property staff was welcoming, as well. We did not use the pool but it looked clean and inviting. There are beach chairs and an umbrella that we used for our beach days - a game changer. One suggestion would be to have a cooler. If Sharon hosts a VRBO, we are there! We cannot thank you enough for going above and beyond in every way.

Ants need to be exterminated & Air Conditioning required.
We couldn't temporarily put any food within the microwave or on the counters. We had leftover food from the Indian restaurant that we were going to eat later that night and decided to put in the microwave until we were ready to reheat and eat it. The containers were in the microwave for about an hour when we noticed that our food was covered in small black ants. My wife had chocolates in a zip lock bag on the counter. We noticed that the ants had eaten a hole in the plastic bag and were all over the chocolate. Even though there is a cool breeze from the ocean at night, it would be nice to have a portable AC unit in the house for periods during the summer days while temperatures are much warmer.

Cockroaches
The place was clean and the property owner was responsive, but over the 5 days we encountered 4 cockroaches. My wife was loading the dishwasher and a cockroach flew out of it, causing her to drop and break a wine glass. We then found 3 more cockroaches throughout the condo and were continually paranoid about finding more. It’s obvious that this wasn’t a one-time occurrence since the Raid bottle we used to kill the cockroaches was almost empty. We were disappointed that we weren’t notified of this possibility beforehand and felt like we were misled into renting this condo for our honeymoon. Furthermore, on our final morning the cleaners came 1.5 hrs early (at 8:30am, interrupting our breakfast) and stood outside the condo causing us to rush out of the place. I really wanted to like this place and give it the benefit-of-the-doubt but I don’t believe we can.

Great quiet paradise
We loved the property, location, etc. We stayed for 2 weeks and my only suggestion would be to leave more than 4 bath towels when youre staying 2 weeks. Also a change of bed linens after a week would be nice but overall we had a good visit and would definitely stay here again
