This beautiful 10-bedroom Historic Sea Captain's house and former Bed & Breakfast - turned private vacation rental, offers a unique blend of historic charm and modern amenities, comfortably sleeping 22 guests.

Situated in 'Towne' one of Nantucket most vibrant villages, and just steps from Main Street, the Ha Penny House allows you to explore Nantucket's rich history and vibrant culture with ease. Wander two blocks to the Nantucket Whaling Museum, and immerse yourself in the grandeur of this historic whaling port at sea, known as "Yesterday's Island". Here, you can pick up "The Wave"- Nantucket's seasonal shuttle service, a convenient way to get to the beaches and the more remote areas of the Island. You can bring your bike on the bus to access the 75 miles of stunning bike paths located across the island.
Indulge in gourmet dining and charming cafes, or enjoy some retail therapy as you browse the galleries, and shops downtown. Children’s Beach, featuring a play ground, Child-safe swim area, and overlooking Nantucket Harbor, is just two blocks away, making for an ideal day of family fun for little ones. We are conveniently located just a 5 minute walk from the Steamship Authority Ferry Dock and a 10 minute walk from the Hy-Line Cruise Ferry Dock.

Each of the 10 bedrooms features an en-suite bathroom, cable-ready TV, and window air conditioning unit. The home, dating back to 1790, boasts original wide-plank floorboards, exposed wood beams, and period antiques. The bedrooms layout is as stated below:
Second Floor (6-bedrooms):
- 1x King w/ en-suite bath.
- 1x Double Bed & en-suite bathroom.
- 1x Queen & 1x Twin in the same 'sleeping-quarters', & an en-suite bathroom.
- 1 Bedroom with 3x Twin beds & en-suite bathroom.
- 1x Queen room with an ornamental fireplace, & en-suite bathroom.
- 1x Queen Bedroom with large walk in closet & en-suite bathroom.
Third Floor (3 Bedrooms):
- 1x King-size bedroom with harbor views & en-suite bathroom.
- 1 Bedroom with 2x Twin beds, and en-suite bathroom.
- 1x Queen Bedroom & an en-suite bathroom.
First Floor (1 Bedroom):
-1x Queen bedroom & 1x Full size pull-out sofa sleeper, mini kitchenette, and en-suite bath.
KITCHEN & OUTDOOR SPACE:
The Chef's kitchen is perfect for preparing meals for, and making memories with, your large party, features a large island, 4-burner gas cooktop & gas oven, microwave, subzero fridge, dishwasher and is fully stocked with dishes, cooking equipment, flatware, bakeware, and (of course) a lobster pot! Additionally, there is a formal Dining Room, featuring a large dining table with seating for 8-10.
French doors lead to a private, brick-patio with comfortable outdoor furniture and a Weber gas grill. Great for entertaining or hosting those classic Summertime BBQ's & Cookouts. When the sun sets & the mosquitos come out - escape to the large screened-in porch, perfect for afternoon tea or evening cocktails while people watching the Islanders on their way to enjoy a night out on the Town.
ENTERTAINMENT, PARKING & ADDITIONAL AMENITIES:
- Living room equipped with a Large flatscreen 'Smart T.V.' - allowing guests to access personal streaming accounts, as well as DVD/VCR, and Cable.
- The house is equipped with Wi-Fi.
- There is a designated "Office Area/Working Space" on the second floor, equipped with a desk, printer and fax machine.
- Ha Penny House provides two off-street parking spots, and street parking along Centre St.
- The basement laundry room has three washing machines and three gas dryers.
- Beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, magazines, books, and games are available for your use.
- We promote a smoke-free environment, with smoking allowed outside on the terrace only.
