The space
Lilla Norr, "Little North" in Swedish, is a 1978 a-frame cabin located on 5 acres of woods along the Snake River. Restored by the owners of Arlee Park, it is an extension of the vintage shop in Minneapolis. The a-frame was rehabilitated and shares era specific pieces in the space with a focus on sustainability. We can't express how much it means to share this special space of ours with you!

Guest access
Guests have access to the a-frame and a storage shed for trash receptacles, yard games, brooms, and shovels.

Other things to note
We hope our guests book Lilla Norr to enjoy the space and property! In order to not mislead, most recreational activities are a 20-40 minute drive, so we don't advertise or recommend booking the property as a hiking/sight-seeing destination, but rather to enjoy the space within the a-frame and the property itself.

However, if you're looking for activities off site, there are plenty in the area! Check out our Guidebook (under "Location" click "More about the location" then click "Show host guidebook") for local recommendations.

Our Guidebook also offers tips on what to pack for your stay.

There is one internet provider in the area and the wifi speed has been adequate for remote work, general internet browsing, and app streaming.

The gravel roads are maintained by the county year round and the driveway is cleared by private hire when 3-5 inches of snow accumulates. We cannot guarantee the conditions or when a snowfall occurs, when they will be cleared. Because of this, a 4WD/AWD vehicle is recommended during winter months due to snow, and suggested during late fall through spring months in case of muddy roads.

Lilla Norr A-frame is a restoration project my family and I acquired as a cabin for our personal use and also rent out for those looking for an escape to the woods. I co-own a vintage store called Arlee Park with my sister, Jamie. We both live in South Minneapolis, only eight blocks apart. Jamie's husband, Alex, is a carpenter and my husband, Brooks, is an electrician. We're always in search of a challenging project and never not planning a travel adventure together.

Why they chose this property

This 1978 a-frame was a bit of a diamond in the rough. After lacking years of attention, we acquired the property in the fall of 2018. Our goal was to restore what was salvageable to retain its original charm, but also invest in new sustainable materials that would stand the test of time. Most furniture and decor throughout the space is vintage and our birch flooring was milled from wind-felled trees right here in Minnesota. Seven months of restorations later, the space was turned into a respite for those who wanted to find stillness in their life, even for just a little bit.

What makes this property unique

Lilla Norr was designed by the team behind Arlee Park. The indoor space is a reflection of our vintage shop in Minneapolis. The property sits on five acres of woods bordering the Snake River on the west end.
